Blatant government rip off cheers

You pay to register a company then you have to pay a yearly fee for literally nothing. Even the women on the phone admitted its just a charge the government give because they can. Meant to be for services they offer but you have to do everything yourself. Yet more evidence of the uk government just full on taking the mick out of everyone. Complete disgrace.

What a snivelling bunch of cretins…

What a snivelling bunch of cretins these guys are. I had a legitimate mitigating factor that held me back from filing my accounts on time. I’ll explain them below.

My accountant recently sold his firm to another large firm. Due to the back log, the new company (Tax Assist) were having a hard time catching up with all the new clients. Unfortunately my accounts were going to be filed late. I emailed phoned companies house and also emailed them in advance to explain the situation. I didn’t hear back following the email I was advised to send and assumed all would be well.

Roll a couple of months and I’ve received two £375 fines, one for each of my companies. I appealed and explained my situation, I explained that I had contacted them prior and had been advised to send them an email.

Companies house didn’t accept this and said that it is up to me to do my accounts. This is ridiculous. I’m not an accountant and I wouldn’t have a clue where to start. Of course companies house knows this and they just take in money from the poor sods that they fine. The person who declined my appeal suggested that I hire a new director to handle my accounts. What a moron!!!! As if times aren’t hard enough at the moment in this country.

There’s a word I’d use to describe companies house, but my review wouldn’t be accepted if I used it.

Absolute joke!

Absolute joke!! Sent me a compulsory strike off so I paid my confirmation statement and said I am still trading and 2 months later they strike my company off as dissolution! Tell Natwest I am dissolved and they shut my bank! Then demand £500 to appeal the dissolution and Natwest won’t give me my money to pay the appeal until my account is live - otherwise they said they are sending all my funds to HMRC in 2 months! Absolute SCAM!!

Bad Gateway

Bad Gateway
Just tried to lookup information on a Company and I got the above. Gave up after 5 times
I sometimes get this when online filing too.
Absolute disgrace. This institution gets worse by the day. Phoned a few days ago asking for an Authorisation code reminder and the girl said she couldn't do that, but one did arrive by post.
File online they say! Well we can, maybe, if the gateway isn't a Bad One, and the facility is there

no help just email templates back

I struggle to read on a computer screen so need help (this was copied and pasted from my remarkable). been trying to get help for 2 years now and having to involve my MP for help.
My issue is after being told to e-mail my compliant in that i can not use website or screens well without assistance.
in 2023 i got help and it was painless in 2024 they seemed to no longer accept that dyslexia is real and i just get the following email. So now my accounts are overdue.

My complaint is i need help from someone reading what is on the screen for me, or helping me though the process.

Thank you for your email.
Below is advice on filing your accounts online, my colleagues in compliance will respond to the other points in your email.
To file Micro-Entity accounts (as previously filed last year) please sign in via Sign in to WebFiling - Companies House WebFiling account - GOV.UK
You will need your company number and 6 character authentication code to file.
Please let me know if I can be of further assistance with online filing.

no one ever gets back to you and you are ignored constantly. I am made to feel like i an a nuisance to them. The fail massively under the Equality Act 2010 where dyslexia is classed as a life long disability.

Rude and incompetent

Never dealt with such an incompetent and rude people in my life. Making things difficult for the small business to make minor changes which should take 5min.
Call them every week and get lies, as every person I speak to gives me different answer, staff is rude and leave business like mine trapped and furstrated. This situation causes me unbelievable stress and it seems that no one can help me, each time I need to wait 10 days to find out that my request is rejected due to their error as they are looking not at the latest documents I sent. Even if I call them to advise when I sent correct forms they say, that they can see it and working on it, 2 days later I get a letter (AGAIN) stating that my request is rejected and copy of the OLD form attach which I sent once, since then I sent 3 emails with an updated form and all emails were acknowledged. It feels like they are doing it on purpose.
