Where do I start

Where do I start? I've been trying to register a CIC with companies house for 4 months. Firstly, the online application process doesn't work, after multiple failed attempts, eventually gave in and did it by post. My application has been sent back 4 times for the most ridiculous reasons, for example, there appears to be a full stop in between a letter etc. The application has then had to be sent back which has taken ANOTHER 3 weeks to sort. Called customer services multiple times only to either be hung up on or told they can't help. I worry about the staff they have employed there they are all terrible. What has this country come to? People are trying to better themselves and keep small businesses local only to be met by constant barriers. I am past being angry I just think it's embarrassing.

Absolute bunch of useless nasty…

Absolute bunch of useless nasty scammers, break GDPR and is actually run by people who are unprofessional. Needs massive reform, a haven for fraud. Also charges huge amounts of money for small companies to make minor changes.

Their online system error - so have to use paper - and I am punished for using paper -so unfair

I have been trying to register a company. They rejected my application because they regards a letter and the Secretary of State, as not worthy of the paper it os written on. Wanted me to upload another document but the system will not bring up that page. I have spent 1.5 days, the last 2 hours with a manager form Companies House. He couldn't do it either. Now have to do a paper application which might take weeks to be entered on the system - punishment for using paper - bur it not my fault they cannot get their system to work.

No accountability for fake companies

A company was set up and was enticing young people to apply to work for them. At the interview they were told it was more of an 'opportunity' and they would be working for free to gain experience for the first 6 months. The company director had about 4 of these businesses all set up from the same address. Companies House responded to my concerns by saying "unfortunately we can't get involved" totally sums up how useless they are.

What Do We Do With This Basket Case Organisation?

We're a small company that uses credit checking agencies and have credit insurance. We received an account application from a company and could get a high level of insurance. Their accounts were strong. Having this level of confidence we opened the account and soon felt nervous (they wanted goods within minutes of us opening the account) so we put them on hold; it felt wrong.
Thank goodness we did. Everything on their Companies House listing was false and the only address was a service office.
We lost about 800 pounds. No great deal, but......
How can Companies House ask for no proof on Directors, no proof on who audited or signed off the accounts?
Basically nothing on their website for small businesses is wide open to fraud.
Having complained we got absolutely nowhere. Having spent hours waiting on the phone and emailing to get "escalated" (bulls++t), we have got nowhere.
They simply do not care.
The place is operated so loosely that it's not wonder that fraudsters can run rampant.
What can we do?
I have spent time on this with our MP, but feel we are just crying in the wind

Terrible company

Someone opened up a company in my name and address for £1 which is stupid, used my "digital signature" and apparently didn't think to do security checks at all.

Took me multiple months to sort it out, meanwhile i got harassment and stress from
various letters asking me for confirmation statements or I'd be receiving legal action.

Finally last month after nearly a year of them not doing anything to help, i managed to get through to them and get my details removed.

You really should make it £500 to open a company instead and add more security measures and checks to prevent this in the future.

Support Fraudulent Activity

Reported a Debt Collection company for fraudulent activity and Companies House basically said that it was ok for the company to do this (attempting to claim unlawful amount of money for a debt that never existed in the first place). This is despite the fact that the company was due to be struck off the register, had a false business address for over 8 months, then failed to submit their Confirmation Statement on time. Goes to prove that the company is out to bend rules. Companies House have no control and seems to have no means to punish these fraudulent companies. What is the point if this is nothing more than a glorified class register?

Companies House is not fit for purpose in any area of their Statutory authority. It's hard to believe this organisation is part of the UK regulatory authorities and allowed to continue in its present form.

Biggest tax theft cover-up in years

Genuinely the single biggest waste of taxpayer money and most useless group of dossers i've ever had the displeasure of dealing with. These clowns have 0 control over their own platform and if you want them to do even the slightest bit of work it's "you'll have to pay this this and this on top because all the money we steal from taxpayers isn't enough for us to do the bare minimum and we'd need an entire new staff base to provide the service you're asking for because at the moment we only employ those who rode the short bus to school"

I honestly believe that with £90 and a pack of instant coffee a single individual could run this place better than these incessant children with siblings for parents.

I hope everyone working here dies of a preventable disease subsequently freeing up oxygen for the rest of us.

Yours sincerely,
An actual member of society.

Please leave me be

In 2010, I registered a company with Companies House because I was told that it is more tax efficient than being self employed by my accountant. I was explained that the data will be public but I didn't mind because I assumed that it will be public in the same way that it is public on some other government registers where interested parties need to register on the government gateway first and sensitive data isn't just dumped on the internet in the dumbest possible way.
I was wrong, I soon realised my data was all over the internet after my colleagues at work pointed it out. The data included my date of birth while the profile appeared as the second result when my name was searched on Google. Companies House say they have to expose the data in this way but it is obviously not true as plenty of registers are far more reasonable with how they expose public data, especially when it comes to search engines. This is not a legal matter, it is a technology matter that can be easily fixed, they just don't want to fix it.
Closing the company was just the beginning however. Companies House needs to legally keep records exposed for 20 years and, 14 years after company closure, my Companies House profile is still the second result when my name is searched on Google. They do not differentiate between active directors and those of companies that have been closed for over a decade, your profile does not get archived or protected additionally in any way after you close the company.
This 6 month stint of owning a company has largely defined my life. For example, I have since tried to requalify as a web developer an went to the final stages of an interview with a company that I really wanted to work for. I was rejected in the last stage of the interview and the job was given to someone in Greece. My ex-colleague that works there told me that, while the interviewers liked me, my failed venture made me look 'dodgy' and 'unreliable'. It looks like a failed business and I guess nobody likes failed businesswomen like me. I guess them knowing my age also did not help and Companies House is the only reason why they could find it out immediately.
I see this as a huge privacy violation and still cannot believe a British institution would do this to their own citizens. I feel like I got scammed. Another 6 years of this, I am counting every day.

Online CIC formation service doesn't work!

Their online CIC set up facility doesn't work! After attempting all day to upload documents of various file names and sizes via a range of browsers, devices and internet connections, it is clear that there is a technical issue, or that they have simply switched off the web incorporation system and want you to do it via post instead. Why offer something you don't maintain?
