The worst company for booking airline…

The worst company for booking airline tickets. Unfortunately, I booked hand luggage for two people on the plane, and they stole the cost and did not book us a hand luggage with the ticket. I contacted them twice and they did not respond, and their employees hung up while you were talking to them. I do not recommend them at all.

Booking failed, still charged — poor customer service

We booked a trip to Egypt via BudgetAir. Our first booking failed — confirmed by their own email telling us "payment failed, please book again." So we did.

A few days later, the first failed booking was charged anyway. So now we paid for 2 bookings, while we only wanted (and booked) 1.

To make things worse: after contacting support (which is only available via chat — and later via email from a very general, non-personal mailing system), we were told we could only get a refund if we paid €400+ per person in refund fees — even though this was clearly a technical issue on their side, and none of this was mentioned before.

And then — magically — a third booking appeared in their communication. We 100% did not create this ourselves. We only tried twice: 1 failed, 1 succeeded. Now suddenly there are 3 bookings — making the communication even more confusing, as they just seem to make up whatever fits their story.

In short:

2 bookings done by us (1 failed, 1 succeeded)

BudgetAir charged us for both

Suddenly a 3rd booking appeared, probably to justify their double charge — which feels completely unfair

Support was cold, unhelpful, and takes no responsibility.

BudgetAir might be fine if everything goes right — but if something goes wrong, you’re completely on your own. Very disappointing and unprofessional.

Avoid them if you value good customer service (and your valuable money).

Still hoping they will show some reasonability — but so far, it’s not looking good.

Unable to add check-in luggage

I booked return flights via Budgetair. After multiple e-mails and calls to both budgetair.nl, and the airline in question, Budgetair failed to assist me with adding a piece of check-in luggage to my flights. Their email replies were not helping at all, and the customer support call just forwarded me to the airline. Would definitely not recommend to book your flights via BudgetAir in the future!
