Helen & Matt were as welcoming as ever. A true family run business with the friendliness and hospitality that great hosts bring.
The rooms are excellent as is breakfast. I have stayed many times over the years, and I know, if I want to stay anywhere in the area that will always be my first port-of- call.
You will be looked after superbly.
I can't thank them enough, or praise them highly enough.

Booked fairlawns for my son's wedding reception, it was absolutely perfect. Very easy to organise, staff were available to help with all the planning. When it came to the actual night the staff were fantastic, nothing was too much trouble, they took all the stress away. It felt like having your bestie help set the room up and greet the guests they were so kind, thoughtful and creative. Would highly recommend.

We stayed here for a break as we have 3 children at home. We hadnt been away for 3 years so had high expectations. It didnt disappoint. We had a lovely time. The staff were so friendly, the food was the best we have tasted in a long time and the room was so clean and spacious. The restaurant had a really buzzing atmosphere too. Would recommend to anyone

We have visited Fairlawns many times and have found the setting and staff first class. Bearing this in mind we were looking forward to our Afternoon Tea, a present for my 70th birthday from my in laws. We have experienced Afternoon Tea all over the country, but this was our first experience at Fairlawns. Extremely disappointed with what was possibly the smallest amount of food we have had in an Afternoon Tea. There was a lack of imagination in the finger sandwiches. Never had a Hash Brown served with Afternoon Tea, very greasy. The scones were burnt and very dry. If we were paying the £63 bill ourselves we would have complained as it did not justify that amount. Could no way recommend and feel sorry for my in laws who had gifted me this as a present. Positives staff friendly and a lovely setting. Negatives Afternoon Tea extremely dissapointing.

We had our Wedding Reception Drinks and meal for 30 people in the beautiful garden and the Cedar Room.
Josh and his team on the day were just super attentive and couldn't do enough for us. They made our day just perfect! I thank them.
The food from was fantastic. Everyone loved the food and no one left any food on their plates!
The four poster hotel room was just what what was needed to end what was a great day. It was beautifully presented with bath in room. It was comfortable and relaxing.

I went with my sister for spa treatments and lunch. My beauty therapist Georgie was extremely professional, knowledgeable, friendly and made me feel at ease. At the restaurant our server Hannah was very welcoming and friendly.

Wonderful Restaurant totally exceeded expectations in every respect on what was now our third visit. Lovely to be able to relax in bar and have drinks brought to the table while reading the menu. Staff courteous throughout and food choices / quality excellent. Overall experience rates amongst the best I have enjoyed anywhere and certainly a cut above what is generally available. Our table was our own for the whole evening so we were able to relax and take full advantage of our babysitter!
Not inexpensive but very happy with value for money when everything considered.

We had a lovely afternoon tea at this Hotel, it is in a beautiful setting and was a Wedding Anniversary occasion. The staff couldn’t be more reassuring and helpful.
The choices were amazing with one or two unexpected additional homemade treats.
On our visit we actually found the hotel quite quiet and had a relaxed atmosphere. A must for a second visit at some point…

Most of the reviews on this platform relate to "events" in one way or another, my review relates to a sunday lunch we arranged in May, let me remind you this supposed to be a four start hotel so expectations which is why we booked.
The experience was awful bought about by the noise and disruption caused by what looked like several families and about ten very young children running amoc.
staff were reluctant to approach the families so we were subject to excessive noise and children just standing on the seats and literally running amoc but still the staff were reluctant to approach them.
All I could extract from a very indifferent manager was that they were a family friendly business, but was unable to get through to him that as such we were treated like second class customers and therefore were forced to put up with a noise reminicent of a Mc Donalds fast food outlet.
Because of the blatant indifference to our experience I insisted on a discount that would more reminicent of a Mc Donalds fast food. Never again ! Management that is focused on turnover rather than a standard that the prices charged should reflect on all that choose to enter the premises. Never again my ears would be unable to sustain the noise !!

Omg! I went Fairlawns and wow, wow, wow!! It was beautiful. Everyone was so welcoming ad friendly 😊. The facial itself was so relaxing and it's everything I needed! Had a lady called Alison and she was so nice, bless her. Thank you! ❤️ xxx

We had the most unbelievable wedding at Fairlawns. It was perfection from beginning to end! The feedback from our guests has been amazing with comments about the extremely high quality food and impeccable service. We can't thank Josh and the Fairlawns team enough. I attended a dinner at Fairlawns on Thursday 19th October. I enjoyed the absolute best meal I have experienced in a hotel or restaurant I can remember. Every course was top of the scale for flavour and presentation. Well done Fairlawns.

What a amazing place i booked a spa day and afternoon tea for a treat on a family Birthday. A lovely hotel with great Spa and Pool, the dinner was nice and water infused with lemon was refreshing. Tea and coffee available all day free of charge. I then had afternoon tea with a large selection of cakes and sandwiches tasty fillings. It's not cheap but well worth the money...

An amazing weekend my wife and I have had. A brilliant welcoming on arrival, stopped overnight and they presented us with a upgrade on the booked room, a present for our 20th wedding anniversary, we had our reception here 20yrs ago. A card, heart balloon and chocolate in the room on arrival. The staff have been amazing. The food and restaurant were fantastic. My wife used all the facilities from the Spa to the swimming pool and now having facial and massage. She has had a wonderful time. It may be expensive, but the quality is second to none. The grounds are lovely with facilities such as tennis courts, outdoor Jacuzzi and other activities. I would love to return here again for a special event. Highly recommended.

As a wedding photographer, I had the pleasure of capturing a beautiful celebration at Fairlawns recently, and I must say it was a truly breathtaking experience. This four-star venue boasts nearly 12 acres of stunning grounds and gardens that provided the perfect backdrop for the wedding. The atmosphere was serene and peaceful, providing a much-needed escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.
The bridal party and guests were accommodated in the luxurious rooms and suites, which were spacious, elegant, and well-appointed. The food at the restaurant was fantastic - delicious, fresh and beautifully presented. The fitness suite and spa facilities were top-notch and guests had a great time unwinding and relaxing.
For the wedding, Fairlawns provided the perfect setting. The team there went above and beyond to ensure everything was just as the bride and groom had envisioned. From the intimate family dinner to the big, beautiful wedding, every detail was taken care of with precision, professionalism and care. The venue can seat a large number of guests, making it perfect for any size of celebration.
In conclusion, Fairlawns was an amazing venue for the wedding, and I was so impressed with how smoothly everything ran. The setting, the staff, the facilities, and the food all came together to create a truly magical day that the bride and groom and their guests will always remember. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for a beautiful, peaceful and luxurious location for their big day.
