Omega Rental Cars - Auckland City Reviews 1,207

I rented a car for six weeks from Auckland CBD Omega Car Rental NZ at the time of pick up they could not find a cover for the luggage area, and I asked about the tire safety. They reassured me the tires were just fine. Within three days one was running low, so I stopped in at a national tire chain with excellent customer reviews and was told that one of my tires was absolutely unsafe to be driving on and should not have been rented out. I’m currently losing a day of travel and the company rearrange their schedule to fit me in immediately. That’s after it took almost a half hour to get approval from Omega Car Rental NZ to get the wheel alignment and replacement tire approved. While I had agreed for an older vehicle, I did not realize that meant no rearview camera, no ability to connect my phone to the speaker system, a hub cap held on by zip/cable ties, no luggage cover and squealing brakes. This is very different than my experience at the Christchurch outlet.
Follow-up: After having lost half a day of touring New Zealand’s Northlands, I received a phone call response to my email, and Omega has offered me a free upgrade to a premium hybrid, if I don’t mind detouring to the AKL airport centre.

We booked for a car in Auckland City.

The lady wanted me to sign the form that I had inspected the car -before she let me inspect the car and I kept telling her I haven't seen it yet but she kept trying to get me to sign it beforehand.
And the other sales guy at the counter said I should have paid for the gold insurance (I paid for the silver one) because cars always come back with 'a chip'.
When I inspected the car to mark off all the imperfections, it had sooo many small dents, horrible gutter rashes, and scatches and multiple window chips. The car worked well though.

I was nervous that the company might blame me for one of the marks left when I didn't do it - due to the way the staff were acting.

Luckily I returned it and they didn't charge me when we returned it to the airport.

The staff was nice and helpful, however the car was dirty when we received it. There were beef jerky bits on the steering wheel, oil stains on the seats, unfinished bag of chips in the seat pocket

I found Omega Cars to be a great choice for my rental car. It was easy to book and the price was affordable. I chose a hybrid and it was a good reliable little car. Picking up the car was a quick process and the staff were very friendly and efficient. Likewise dropping it off at the airport was also very quick and efficient.

Really easy experience. I hired a car for 10 days for my recent trip to NZ. The team were really easy to get in touch with beforehand, and the car was great. A few minor scratches but otherwise perfectly clean and fairly new. No issues at all during my rental, and a very easy collection and drop off process. Would absolutely use again.

All good just a long wait for signing docs and taking the vehicle. And some rubbish left in it from a warrant. But happy to use Omega again

We were on a cruise ship and wanted a car for a day to visit out family. Everything about our experience with omega was amazing, even allowed us to return car close to office as we both have trouble walking. Will definitely use then again.

I was able to return the rental car outside of business hours and still arrive at the airport seamlessly. I will definitely rent from here again in the future.

Renting experience was easy and the communication with the team was also quick and helpful. We were hoping to rent a 7 seater car but it was unavailable at our time. That is the one thing I would like to suggest, is to get more 7seater cars available. The next is cleanliness of the car. The car was clean but there was a lingering smell inside the car. We just let it air and an air freshener helped. But overall I would still recommend and go to rent here if I need a car for our next trip.
