Terrible Experience with Swiss Airline: Rude Staff, Chaotic Connections, and Awful Service
I recently had an extremely disappointing experience with Swiss Airline LX 147. The journey was riddled with issues from start to finish, and I would not recommend flying with them.
Customer Service: The staff was rude and unwelcoming, not even offering a simple "Good Morning." To make matters worse, the seats we had booked were arbitrarily changed at the booking desk.
Check-In Process: The staff at IGI Airport seemed clueless about what is and isn’t permitted in checked luggage, adding unnecessary confusion to the process.
Onboard Experience:
Food: The food was awful. My son was given a vegetarian breakfast even though he had asked for an omelette. To make matters worse, a cabin crew member commented to her colleague, "I thought Indians are vegetarian, and that's why I gave him veg." This comment was unprofessional and insensitive. The cabin crew didn’t even ask me what I would like, and overall, their communication was awkward and rude at best.
In-Flight Entertainment: The entertainment system was archaic and barely functional. The headset didn’t work, the navigation menu was clunky, and the content selection was extremely limited. Audio quality was poor, subtitles were unavailable, and language options couldn’t be changed.
Cabin Crew Responsiveness: Pressing the assistance button yielded no help for almost half an hour. This lack of responsiveness is unacceptable.
Connecting Flight: The connecting flight experience was chaotic and stressful. The flight landed late in Zurich, leaving just 10 minutes to board the next flight to Heathrow. Despite requesting priority at security, the personnel refused to assist. Thankfully, other passengers allowed us to skip ahead, but the security and boarding queues were a complete mess, with no clear organization.
Flight Delays: The connecting flight from Zurich to Heathrow was delayed as well, adding to the already stressful experience.
Overall, the experience was terrible. From rude staff and outdated in-flight amenities to poorly managed queues, unhelpful personnel, and insensitive behavior, everything about this journey was frustrating and disappointing. I will not be flying with Swiss Airlines again.
