Great staff and just great atmosphere, at a great price
Absolutely love pure gym Llantrisant,
Great staff and just great atmosphere, at a great price.
Equipment availability is decent and am currently really enjoying my gym sessions there, the building and changing rooms could be a bit bigger and would be great if they could expand into the empty building next-door, but its not the end of the world.

I was a bit sceptical at first
I was a bit sceptical at first, thinking it would be busy all the time, but it works, I mainly use the gym after work around 17.00, but you can still use the equipment without any waiting time

Pricing deceipt
Felt completely deceived in the pricing structure for the Gym. Bought a multi gym access because I work in Cardiff and Swansea as well as at home but defaulted the main gym location to one nearest to my home.
Went into work today in Cardiff and visited the gym closest to where I was located but it wouldn't allow me to enter because a staff member told me that my membership plan for the main gym location was priced below that one.
At no time during the sign up process was this made clear or did Pure Gym ask me what my needs were. They simply sold me a single or multi gym access pass.
When I tried to raise a complaint, I could only do that through Facebook or X and then ended up talking to a bot and was told someone would get back to me within 12 hours.
Needless to say, I am cancelling my subscription and wont be going back as I feel the process is engineered to ensure their customers sign up and then get squeezed for more money when they come to use the service.

Easy to join and great value for money
Easy to join and great value for money. Plenty of equipment but changing rooms could be a bit bigger with only two showers and one toilet considering at times there are upto 30 men or more training so gets a bit squashed in there.

Excellent value for money
Excellent value for money, great choice of classes and the app is great! Haven’t been to the gym in years so didn’t want to get into any lengthy contracts so being able to cancel at any time was appealing. However have no plans to cancel as I love going there!

Fantastic gym
Fantastic gym! Clean, plenty of space, lots of new equipment and friendly staff. The manager Ivy was amazing and really welcoming during my first visit to the club.

Went to the gym tonight and got shown…
Went to the gym tonight and got shown around by a very friendly and knowledgeable trainer who inspired me to join today
I haven't used a gym for a very long time so I am looking forward to my journey of improving my tone and fitness
The gym wasn't full of lycra lovelies it seemed to have a good mix of ages and abilities so I think I will be ok there...not too confident as so unfit

Quality equipment, nice spacious and never too busy. Was a snap fitness goer but will not leave pure gym have the core plus membership and it’s well worth it. Love it would recommend as a gym goer of 20 years one of the best I’ve been to. Equipment - I would like to see a few higher quality machines like a pendulum or weight belt squat plate and better calf machines is only issue for me

First time using PureGym
Upon my arrival, I immediately noticed the automatic door was out of order, which was slightly inconvenient. Further into my visit, I attempted to use the drinks machine, expecting to pay with Apple Pay as indicated, but unfortunately, it didn’t accept the payment method, which was a bit disappointing.
The equipment availability was somewhat limited for my preferences. I’m not particularly well-versed in weightlifting exercises, and it seemed the gym was more catered towards that, leaving me feeling a bit out of my depth. Additionally, the placement of running machines directly in front of windows overlooking the car park made for an awkward experience, as it felt somewhat exposed.
On a more positive note, the gym itself was aesthetically pleasing and maintained to a high standard of cleanliness, which I appreciated. The fact that the gym is accessible without staff presence is a significant advantage, offering flexibility for users. The companion app provided was quite helpful, offering extensive guidance on various exercises, which was a nice touch.
However, when considering value for money, I found the gym to be slightly more expensive compared to my usual gym. My visit to PureGym was primarily due to their convenient late Saturday hours, which suited my schedule better.

We offer various memberships; this includes various multi-access and PLUS memberships which, depending on which gyms you need access too, will vary in price.
We always aim to provide a broad spread of kit to cater to a range of fitness needs and meet demand as it changes through the day, getting the balance right between weights and cardio, but if you have any other/specific suggestions please approach the Gym Manager or leave a note in the feedback box, which is regularly reviewed.
With regards to the out of use door/vending machine issue; we appreciate the points raised and apologise for any inconvenience caused on your visit. We’ll pass these onto be fully investigated.
