Functional mess,
The functional area was a complete mess, people do barbell hip thrusts all the time, just get a few machines.
Plates and dumbbells all over the place.
QR code didn't work.

We do apologise for any inconvenience caused.
It is in the gym rules that members should return their own weights or risk suspension, but at peak times especially it can be hard to police this.
However, staff on site do everything they can while we also have CCTV monitoring the free weights and are looking for new ways to combat this.

BEST GYM I HAVE BEEN TO
Great equipment and really friendly staff. Its very convenient that Pure Gym is open 24 hours and there is piece of mind due to the safety and emergency protocol procedures and call lines. I have recently switched to Pure Gym from another gym, and Pure Gym is so much better than my old gym! I really love it at Pure Gym, it's by far my favourite out of other gyms I have tried going to. The community and new people with similar goals that I have met are also truly amazing and even though my membership is quite expensive compared to others, I assure you, it is one hundred percent worth it!! 💕💕

My experience so far
I have been visiting the gym for almost a year now and I like the friendliness of the gym members, I enjoy the variety background music, it's a nice area to train, there are enough equipments to play with, but not when the Uni Students are around 😁
The toilet and shower is mostly clean I like that too but a bit concern how it's sometimes unkept during weekends

I have visited the gym like twice now
I have visited the gym like twice now, though it’s my first gym experience but I love it. The trainers are friendly and ready to assist. Even the members are also approachable because sometimes if the trainers are not around and I don’t know how to have my way with an equipment other members present put me through, I really appreciate that. I had a good first time impression about everything about PureGym. Thanks

Disappointed when recently needed to switch site.
Often use Exeter Bishops Court which I enjoy. Exeter Fore Street is closer to my route home so have used it for the past 3 weeks. It is a very different story. Hot, broken straps on bikes, flavoured water dispenser broken now for a few weeks. Seems much less well maintained.
Would love to keep going to Fore Street - please maintain it properly!

Staff do undertake regular maintenance checks and work hard with our equipment providers to ensure that our equipment is fixed as soon as possible, if any should be broken. We are equally as disappointed when this happens and sometimes need to wait on engineers but will have all equipment in full working order as soon as is safely possible. If you have any concerns about equipment, please notify staff on site as soon as you can.

IMPOSSIBLE to cancel online
The gym itself is good, however, it is impossible to cancel online. It clearly states that they have made it as 'simple as possible' to leave but this was certainly not the case. Additionally, if you miss a payment, they will charge you an unreasonable amount extra, plus send you a warning by email at night- so you have little time to pay up!
I felt completely scammed by this and it has now deterred me from signing on with pure gym ever again.

As per the terms and conditions which we advise all members read before joining, If you pay monthly you simply need to cancel the direct debit with your bank at least 4 working days before payment is due. Once your bank notify us of this, your account will begin to cancel down.

We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused. We’re afraid it's true, our gyms simply are very popular and so can become busy especially at peak times, but this does fluctuate throughout the day and from day to day. Members can also use the members area via the PureGym app or website, to see how many people are in the gym.
Management are usually around the gym between the hours of 9am-5pm, Mon-Fri. They may be in the office if not immediately visible on the Gym Floor.

Plenty of equipment
It has plenty of benches, racks and dumbells and machines so even during the busy times I can usually get on most things.
The only negatives are-
just having one hamstring curl which is always taken.
No safety bars on the platform racks.
No hack squat.
I can live with this but it would make a big difference to have these extras!

I raised a concern with the management via email and the response I received was rude, unprofessional, and didn't even make sense.
