I had a total hip replacement using the Mako robot at the BMI Alexandra several months ago and I am still in awe at the whole process under Mr Kim and his team. It was exemplary! Each and every member of staff was dedicated, professional, caring and nothing was too much trouble! They made me smile every day. I am now totally pain free and have my life back. Thank you.

Before i went to Rosshall I was climbing the walls with hip pain, and was on around 6 co-codamol tablets during the night. I know that the NHS would be a long wait and at the age of 71 each extra year matters in your life. I went to see a consultant at Rosshall who said I would only have to wait around 7 or 8 weeks. Even more luckily I was taken much earlier due to a cancellation. The attention I received was second to none and the staff were so attentive and supportive. The food was good too. I asked the consultant prior to my operation if the pain would go after the operation. He said "Absolutely" and he was right. No more pain. Worth every penny. So here I am a few weeks later enjoying life again in a pain free environment. Wonderful.

On Friday the 30th July 2021 I booked in for a Total Knee Replacement right knee. I was absolutely blown away by the highest customer service and care. Friendly efficient staff and an absolutely first rate operation carried out on my knee . I can't sing the praises of the surgical / nursing and support staff high enough. The Woodlands Hospital is the shining light of healthcare

I had a Septoplasty yesterday and the level of care and attention I received from all staff was first class. I can't fault the hospital on anything and I'm a retired nurse. Would recommend BMI Ross Hall without hesitation.

The BMI Lincoln hospital, I was on the NHS waiting list for umbilical hernia surgery, and was contacted by BMI Lincoln, had a clinic appointment on 30/6/2021 with consultant, face to face appointment, went thew all details including weight, risks and procedure agreed a plan and waited to hear, it didn't take long , as there was a cancellation, surgery was planned for the 4th of August, so went yesterday for my pre_ op appointment, were to my disappointment was told my BMI was to high for them to safely do surgery, I couldn't believe they handed picked up on this before now, was told that consultation was new and probably didn't realise very poor, very unprofessional, did get a apology, but can't really believe this could happen, very disappointed, but maybe I had a lucky escape, as if they can fail at somthing so simple, goodness knows what other mistakes they could make, utter waste of my time, now iam back on the NHS waiting list

I wrote a negative response for the Lancaster/Morcambe bay branch. They seem to have managed to have removed mine and other negative reviews.
I wont go through it again but they were incompetent and wasted 8 months of my life before cancelling the operation 2 days before. The op was passed to them through the NHS, not my choice.
Had the operation done today by the Lancaster Royal Infirmary, carried out by what I would class as a first class service. No complications, in and out, my lipoma removed and I can now get back to working as I should be able to do.
The BMI are very sketchy, they have terrible reviews if you dig deep enough and I would spend the time looking beyond the choice ones they are now displaying at units such as Morcambe. Your health and wealth seem to be at risk if you tangle with this crowd. There are very good private hospitals out there I am told, but these do not seem to be one of them. Look deeply, look at google and the actual national BMI review pages, you'll see the whole picture there. The whole episode has taken almost 1.5 years, once through to the genuine NHS it was done and dusted in 3 months. Besides myself I feel so sad people are put through either shoddy, dangerous situations, or/and then ripped off financially. Be very careful, its actually very scary.

BMI Alexandra Hospital Manchester
I have already given this hospital a 5 Star rating for my operation and care, this review is about understanding costs. I requested a complete package quotation for the operation and care which I received very quickly and was happy with. It did not include any consultant's costs which I understood. Having not had an operation at a private hospital before I was led to believe a package quotation covered all costs. On returning home I received a bill for the pre admission procedure, I know it was only 7.09% of the original quotation but it is a cost to be aware of.
When you are in pain, several pages of terms and conditions is the last thing on your mind, so when it comes to costs, please spend time to understand the complexity of private medical costs if your are self funding.

I visited Highfield hospital under Dr Sharaf on 21st June ,been suffering headaches ,numbness in left arm, pain in back and other symptoms for a while. NHS waiting time was told minimum 6 month wait, thought worth paying £250 to get the ball rolling quicker at least. My GP wrote a referral letter which I took along on the day .I went in and Dr Sharaf spent more time reading the referral letter than listening to me, told me it was migraines ,although one symptom of warm feelings in the leg still puzzles me how migraines cause this .Did a very quick neuro examination roughly 1 minute if that ,seemed as though he'd made his mind up early and that was that. Said I'd been scanned in 2019 so didn't need scanning again. I was in and out in approximately 15 minutes for a half hour appointment. I got in touch with your opinioncounts via e-mail told them I wasn't paying the £250 fee.In the meantime I'd been sent Dr Sharafs invoice and diagnosis in the post all dated from 21st June, even though it didn't arrive for a week saying you have 14 days to pay, if not it goes to a collection agency. So basically my hands were tied, I had to pay which I did. In the meantime ,someone rang me from youropinioncountsbmiteam very polite and apologetic about my experience and I told them I had since paid. They said they would contact Dr Sharaf and give him til Thursday 8th July to respond to my allegations I said Friday was OK as its end of week .On hearing nothing I e-mailed them on Monday 12th July asking for update ,no reply which was strange as when I threatened not to pay they rang me within 36 hours. I again e-mailed on Thursday 15th July still no reply. Going private is not necessarily the best option, and to top it off in Dr Sharafs diagnosis in 15 minutes in his letter he diagnosed me with migraine , osteoarthritis (without a scan) depression ( i must have been having a bad day ) and hyperlipidaemia (without a blood test) .Now this guy is either a genius or just copied from my GPS notes ,and considering most of the wording in his letter is the same as my GPS referral letter we will go with the latter. I can do that for £250 a time let somebody else do the work and take the money .proper scam .

Truly appalling customer service. I spent day after day after day bouncing around BMI's systems. Endless phone calls, transfers between departments - who then transferred me again - all asking the same set of questions and none of whom could access each other's IT systems. On one occasion I was told that the admin team had gone on holiday for a week and that nothing could be done in the meantime. I have no reason to doubt the quality of care at BMI, but their technology systems and admin processes made for a long, drawn-out, anxiety-inducing and deeply frustrating experience.

My wife had phoned the BMI, Enfield Kings Oak hospital, and made an appointment to see a Dr Wilson, but didn't get an e-mail acknowledgement as promised so phoned up to confirm appointment, which was for Mon, 21 June 2.45pm. We duly turned up and they had no record of it, despite acknowledging my wife had the right phone number for them and that Dr Wilson worked there. They couldn't see her at that time. My wife was given a phone number on a scrap of paper to contact the consultant - when we got home noticed the numbers were poorly written and despite trying various options couldn't establish contact.
Looked on the website to see where I could lodge my concern - very difficult to navigate or find how to do so. Looked at recent reviews and the replies posted, and there is one where a BMI marketing manager's e-mail address was provided 3m ago in response to a complaint. I tried it - it didn't work!!!. I posted my comments on Google reviews and quickly received an e-mail from your opinioncounts @bmi asking for more information which was provided on 25 June, including a copy of the scrap of paper and telephone number.
Have we received any response - NO!
Is this the way to treat potential customers who elect for private treatment?
19 Jul - BMI's response that they have contacted me and resolved the problem is not correct. All I received was an e-mail asking me to set out convenient dates/times for a manager to call which I provided. Have I received any call - NO!

Had cataract surgery with massive problems of dysphotopsia and posterior vitreous detachment in this hospital. I would not recommend this hospital or surgeon to anyone. Normal safety procedures were not followed during the rushed surgery. I was not anaesthetised in the theatre, no preparations had been made for a chair for me to sit on to have my eye marked for the toric lens, instead I had to perch on a very high stool where I feared I would fall off backwards; I was not given a signal to ask the surgeon to stop operating and so could not tell them that I felt as though they were burning a hole in the side of my eye with the pain; there was only one lens in the room instead of two; the lens did not open out properly so the surgeon pushed it flat into my eye with his finger; the lens has a significant crack in it. My reporting of pain during surgery was met with ridicule and my huge difficulties with dysphotopsia were dismissed with a sneer and a shrug that this condition is so rare that surgeons do not bother to learn about it. A YAG procedure caused a very symptomatic posterior vitreous detachment that needed a vitrectomy after 13 months of hell so that I could drive safely. After cataract surgery I was left with 6/60 vision in my non-operated eye and totally unable to use my vision in the operated eye. I was a danger to myself and to others but the hospital would not address my difficulties and told me I was being unrealistic in my expectations. This is unacceptable especially as the surgeon kept telling me I would have no problems when I repeatedly asked for information on the problems caused by cataract surgery prior to the botched operation. The surgeons and the hospital take no responsibility or care for patients who have post-operative problems. It is just a money-making system with no concern for patient safety, health or outcomes.
Georgia, this looks great but I have read in other BMI hospital reviews that people have responded to replies to reviews and their attempt to contact you has been futile as you have not bothered to respond. I think it is better for patients to tell others about their experiences via platforms like trustpilot to alert others to the dangers and the low standards they have been unfortunate to experience that have traumatised them for life.

BMI Hospitals in Enfield, are excellent with the Consultants, and standard of Nursing care, IF you can get admitted.
The attitude a minority of the non professional admitting staff is atrocious.
Yes Covid tests are required, the norm on the NHS and other Hospitals ranges from 4 hrs, same day, or maximum 24 hrs.
BMI at Kings Oak Hospital take 48hrs to process, and i waited 3 days for an appointment, expected to move almost there n then to attend. 4 days i have waited just for an apnt, and 2 days delay to get result, means 6 days before a needed admission!
This seriously needs addressing, being unable to admit someone who clearly is in pain and discomfort, for at least 6 days.
Then i was blamed for the delay!
Once in, the staff are wonderful, from Nursing, theatre, Drs, and cleaning and catering teams.
the attitudes of the admission individual i dealt with was atrocious..
They made inaccurate and untruthful comments about me to my Consultant, blaming me for not basically being at my phone when they decided to call. This has been my 2nd experience in 4 months of the same issues.
NO Private Hospitals in London have this same attitude. Having used them for 30 years, this is a new low, and The BMI Hospitals in Enfield need to take prompt action.
I cannot praise highly enough the care once inside, but the frankly offensive abrupt controlling attitude trying to get admitted is unacceptable. Both to Customer/ Patients, and Consultants trying to help get an admission.
I could not endorse being admitted here on this basis at all to anyone. As a Director Professional person myself, this standard is really poor, and badly reflects on BMI, as many other ratings seem to also note here, surprisingly.

I really would highly recommend The Park BMI hospital Sherwood, Nottingham. I have been using this hospital for around 8 years now for different health issues. It’s a lovely location with plenty of parking.
On arrival the reception staff are so helpful and always happy to see me!
I visit this hospital for Cosmetic Surgery. Kara who is Lead cosmetics practitioner was with me throughout my cosmetic journey, from my first consultation to my aftercare. The surgeon was very understanding and did an amazing job, which I am very happy with. Kara was also on call and any problems I had she reassured me and saw me at a moment notice.
The hospital is very clean and nothing is too much trouble for the nursing staff. If you have to wait to see your specialist there are free hot and cold beverages available.

On 29th May 2021 I attended BMI Cavell for treatment of fibroid and endometriosis by Mr Fakokunde. My procedure was well explained, and it went well.
All of the staff were exceptionally welcoming, knowledgeable, from arrival until discharge. Staff were very helpful offering lots of reassurance for my first operation, which I am thankful. I would highly recommend. Patient care was fantastic.

Overpriced and hidden fees
So I have a stomach bacteria called h.piyolri. I was diagnosed with this at a gp about 1 year ago and the tablet they prescribed didn’t seem to get rid of the problem. I was then recommended to a Dr A Miller in the Gastroenterologist department. The price was set at £215 for a consultation I agreed because I absolutely want to get rid of the issue. I sat down with Dr A Miller for no longer than 10 minutes I could not believe that is what I paid £215 for. He literally ask me how I feel then prescribed similar tablet as my gp. Long story short the tablet never worked had to go back then he advised that I do an endoscopy at a price of £1350 for a 10-15 minute procedure. I went back to my gp and ask if the nhs could do it they said yes and put me on a waiting list but said it could take months for them to see me. I could not wait that long so I decided to go ahead with Bmi. 1 week before the procedure you have to take a covid test which is fine but they fail to advise me it would cost £75 to do the COVID test weather or not I actually go ahead with the procedure. I did not do the procedure in the end because the nhs got back to me in time to do it for free. But now I just keep get unexpected invoices from Bmi about hospital fees that was not discussed or even put in writing. This company are thieves and like other people have stated the staff are rude, do not communicate with one another and their switch board is a joke. I advise you to look around and check reviews before going here.
