The password was forgotten, playback became impossible. Playback is important to us in at the school. Technician said to buy a new DVR but customer care helped with secure code. With the code, we were able to reset the password and change it to pattern. Thank you Customer care agent Jane.

Never needed the customer service before luckily, all setups have been straight forward. I have installed 18 Annke DVRs and about 3 of their cameras. I don't have much experience with their cameras so I just ordered the 5mp ptz to see what that will be like. The DVR and annke vision app have been perfect for me. It used to be quite difficult to get email alerts out but with the new systems they have sorted that! I do have a slight issue with the new DVR where when turning on encryption my cameras dont play in the vision app. Turn it off and they are visable immediately in the app. I have contacted customer service for this and will update my review with what kind of response I recieve.
*Update i do get what the reviews are saying now. While I love the products, the delivery is awful. I currently have a camera out for delivery since the 12th with no updates. I have reached out to Annke who have so far said "we are tracking, would you still like this item"
I replied yes, but not heard anything back so have opened a dispute with PayPal currently. Will update .

Great company seems to be getting better service is always great, after care is also great after having a system for years now, never say can’t help your out of warranty. Not sure what happens if box fails after warranty period ends. Just wish I had an update to a slight faulty system from new, was sent extra parts which some seem better than others. Would love to test newer model to compare now as we had a fan air problem that was never sorted and we had to change it our selves to fix the sound problem which we made it almost silent to hear. Did tell you in the past but was never fixed with software.
Forgot to say thought I bought top of range 8mp 4k which thought was best but lacked image quality when zooming in, and was not happy if I remember when bought showing zooming in on a car number plate this is rubbish can’t do it as it blurbs to much, and at night can’t see number plate at all.

The first Annke camera (2023) I bought is a good quality one. I ordered recently another one, order pending.
I have special needs (port forwarding etc) and the software setup was not so user firendly for me, but I think it's ok for standard needs, and you have access to many parameters if required. The support service is very friendly, quick, and efficient (direct chat on the Annke website, mail ...).

Products:
Products are actually very nice quality mostly and I would describe as premium retail, leaning heavily on rebranded and sometimes cost reduced versions of existing HW from Hikvision, a well regarded commercial supplier that is less accessible to the retail customers and often a bit too expensive for a home user.
Usability:
Not always clear/consistent instructions and can be a barrier to new users. If you have some experience and are not put off by things that don't work out of the box then then you might not struggle but it really depends on which product you are working with. For instance - yte NVR (in my case model N88PCH) is not straightforward but actually an excellent piece of kit with many features and very reliable but again, not for unacquainted. The PoE cams are real great, the images superb and the build quality is impressive for the cost-point. I have a mix of metal and plastic case models but not had issues with any of them. They just work, hot or cold outdoors.
Software:
This is one area where the confusion can occur. There are several SW options to access your NVR or your camera direct. SADP software (PC windows) is really not very user friendly and wuld put a new user off. The Annke Vision PC software is more comprehensive but quite complicated, though basic features can just be used. The matching iOS Annke Vision SW works well and as long as you are OK with setting up IP addresses and even using a VPN on your phone then you can use the syste remotely without having to use Annke's own servers. There are privacy concerns with this system so I prefer to use my own VPN access to my home network to access the cams. Again, not a simple setup.
Customer Service:
This I think is where I have been the most impressed. There is a chat option (not used that) but the email support is very helpful and the depth of knowledge and willingness to drive resolution of any issues as quite technical level is impressive. Timezones means this can take a few days to sort if messages are being shared back and forth but attitude is 100%. The Annke customer service is clearly aimed at being top notch so no complaints there.
Conclusion:
Overall, for a newby I would probably not recommend an NVR and cam system unless you have access to someone who kows about networking/I.T. in general or don't mind some time and self-learning. But for the small simple Annke indoor PTZ security cams (not compatible with NVRs) with the iOS app - super easy setup and mine has been working for some years now. Just be aware that this forces use of external servers so if you are uncomfortable about privacy then best to avoid. Pretty much ALL indoor app based cams are server linked, even RING types..it is a matter of privacy and choice; just know what you are buying.
