Regarding selling on Real Real, the commission for under 100 dollars is horrible. Additionally, two items were sent back to me stating there were holes when no holes were to be found anywhere on the garments. I had a second person check as well. I believe there was another reason and that was just a generic response which is not acceptable or helpful.

One of my items came quick the other took forever. I don’t like being charged for shipping and having it take a week and a half to two weeks.

Very prompt shipping times, took less than a week to ship and arrive, and the item was in great condition.

I got my items promptly. And there were as described.

As far as making life easy for shipping items in, TRR is great. However, the payouts are poor and confusing. Items that are just received sometimes receive immediate discounts without notification and payouts are very low especially for bags. There are still plenty of other options for resale that pay better. Also, the items that are returned are often mishandled and given reasons that do not make sense.

It was shipped timely and got here early. It also mentioned some residue on it when I ordered that could be seen in the photos. I was able to remove the residue within 10 minutes after receiving it, by using a dry brush. The leather wasn't damaged. It looks almost brand new. This was a great deal!

Shipping was quick and the product was exactly as described.

Every item that I have purchased from you is exactly like your site describes. I have been happy with each item. The quality is good and delivery is fast.

My purchase experience was wonderful -- the delivery was quick, the item was just what I wanted and I'll certainly purchase from The RealReal again.

However, I was sorely disappointed in the company's location in Dallas. The tiny store had almost no relevant stock for me and ONE Louis Vuitton item. Perhaps it would have more of a selection if more people were aware of it.

I’ve had multiple disappointing experiences with The RealReal, and at this point, I can’t recommend them.

The biggest issue is the lack of accuracy and transparency in their listings. I’ve purchased items described as being in “excellent condition” that arrived with noticeable scratches, missing glazing, and overall wear that was clearly not disclosed. In another case, the glazing on a bag was actively melting—something that absolutely should have been noted and photographed.

Their photos are also inconsistent and often fail to capture important flaws. If there’s a stain, damage, or wear, it should be clearly shown. Buyers should not be surprised when items arrive in significantly worse condition than described.

Customer service only adds to the frustration. The representatives are polite, but they have little authority to actually resolve issues and frequently need to “check with another team,” which drags out the process unnecessarily. Returns are difficult, time-consuming, and feel intentionally complicated.

One of my most frustrating experiences was purchasing a handbag listed with gold hardware—only to receive a bag that clearly did not have gold hardware. Even after providing photos, I was told it was “gold” and denied a resolution. Being stuck with an item that is not as described is unacceptable.

Overall, the lack of accountability, poor quality control, and difficult return process make this a frustrating place to shop. There are too many inconsistencies for a company operating at this level, and it ultimately feels like the customer is not being heard.

Item was described as Very Good, although upon delivery and inspection, the item was fair. A seam was torn, and the straps were frayed.

The bag is in great condition and it actually shipped faster than I thought it would.

Shoes I ordered were under women’s but were men’s sizing.

I love shopping on The RealReal. The information is good and the service is excellent. It's always a thrill when the package arrives.
