I had a query. I asked and you responded reasonably promptly and with a comprehensive answer
On 10th July I drove my class 2 vehicle through the M6 toll and received a charge for a class 4 vehicle. I drove the same vehicle through same toll on 28th June 2025 and was correctly charged as a class 2 vehicle . On querying this I was told it’s a private company so they don’t follow government classification rules , my vehicle must have exceeded the 1.3 m vertical height through front axle because either I had over inflated the tyres or wasn’t carrying a heavy enough load. Obviously losing a stone before going on holiday cost me dear. I have measured my car’s vertical height at 1.25m whilst unladen but I haven’t used the magical calibration used by M6 toll so I’ve to pay as a class 4 vehicle. Needless to say having used this road for 23 years without complaint I will no longer be using it as they have no regards for fairness and only interested in upping their revenue by fair means or foul. Disgusted. I only submitted this review as M6 toll sent me an email asking to review their service.
M6Toll now stating it is an additional mirror that makes the vehicle a class 4 however this mirror was on the vehicle when it passed through on both dates so why the difference in class because of a mirror ? If M6 Toll were honest and up front and state we’ve got your money so we don’t care it would be less annoying than the absurd excuses they come up with to choose not to classify the vehicle properly. At this time it’s obvious that M6 Troll would be a more apt name for the business.

I had a slight issue with the amount I had been charged for a journey on the M6 Toll south, I contacted vir the online form and the issue was resolved within 24 hrs. Great service, thank you.

Auto toll charged me for a much larger vehicle - they did NOT spot the errror I did and the concern is that this overcharge is obviously an automatic error and may affect many people who will be unaware they have been overcharged significantly !!!

I shouldn't of been overcharged in the first place and it did take a few days but I did get my refund with little hassle so no harm done.

From start to finish without a hitch… the application was a doddle to complete. I spoke to customer service to ask advice as I wasn’t sure I’d completed everything properly, however the operator I spoke with was outstanding! A credit to the team, she informed me that everything was completed fine.

Accidentally took the wrong road and ended up on the toll road, and was charged for the privlage will definitely be avoiding next time im near the area

I take the M6 toll occasionally. Saw an advert for 'Breeze' at the Norton Canes service station, with associated discounts, so sounded good.
The Breeze account works best if you top up in advance, which doesn't make sense for my infrequent travel. The Lite account - paying on demand - seemed more appropriate, but still it wasn't super clear. Turns out that the Lite account doesn't actually give a discount, and even the Breeze discount doesn't work out anywhere near advertised, more like 15%.
After registering, there's no indication of when you can actually travel through the Toll. I did receive an email saying you need to wait an hour - but this arrived more than an hour later. So having registered, I had to nervously proceed through the toll not knowing if I should pay manually, would be charged to my account, or whether I'd get fined.
If you approach the barrier behind someone else, the barrier doesn't so much open for you, but rather remains green. So that wasn't clear either. I think everything has worked out OK but it wasn't worth it.
In short, benefits of Lite:
Don't need to get card out, maybe save 5 seconds.
Downsides of Lite:
Not knowing if you've paid, worry about fines, probably some data privacy concerns, payment card will undoubtedly expire at some point and cause more confusion.
On the way home I just avoided the toll altogether and went via Derby.
