Rudest customer service ever, unhelpful, personal issues put forward on the job

In love with my rice cooker! Great appliance - I use it all the time. It's the only machine I bought from Yum Asia, bo so far I can highly recommend its products.

Overpriced for the quality provided - customer service refuse to acknowledge inadequacies of their product.

Let me preface this by saying rice is a staple in my family, I eat rice almost daily, I know how to wash and cook rice.

I bought a Bamboo UMAI Induction Heating IH Ceramic Rice Cooker. After reading many reviews online and carefully doing my research. I've owned a Zojirushi for 12+ years.

I primarily eat short-grain rice (Japonica), the first thing I noticed after using the rice cooker a couple of times is that measurement lines on the inner pot are off, by A LOT. At least for short grain. So much that I usually would have to add an extra 0.5 cup of water to get a decent consistency.

Furthermore the "keep warm" function of the rice cooker would result in rice stuck on the inner lid, even after 2 hours, leaving the function useless.

I contacted support with pictures and my claims. Were simply told "you are using a bad quality rice, nothing wrong with our product."

Despite the fact that the same short-grain rice type they sell on THEIR OWN WEBSITE, has the exact same cooking instructions and thus same quality as the one I use.

The rice cooker is noiser than my old rice cooker, more inefficient and expensive.

If I could get my money back I would.

The bowl has defects on the surface and the request for a new bowl is complicated by the store.

Honestly, this is the worst customer service I have ever experienced.

My review was about a new bowl that I had to buy at my own expense. Which had a poorly made surface.
The old bowl had a few spots where there were bubbles in the surface. Although I used it the same as a Teflon coated bowl. It went wrong. The instructions don't go into much detail on cleaning. Nor is it written there that the surface is not as resistant as high-quality PFOA.

I had to write many emails to even receive a return label to claim a new bowl. Your constant insistence that the bowl surface defect is fine is incredible.

The price of the product absolutely does not correspond to the quality. Your false claim that bubbles are left in the surface after application its ok is fascinates me. Defending low-quality production in such a way that one does not get the quality product one paid for is quite blunt.

Of course the next bowl, if there is even another one, has bubbles in the surface all over the bottom. This is clearly a bug.
Sol-gel technology is also used by other manufacturers and they do not have such defects. The new bowl even has a bit of chipped edges, which will of course increase in size.

Honestly horrible. I wouldn't expect the people from this company to be so smug and arrogant. And you also lie on your site about the product quality. You even delete bad reviews, which you cannot delete here, so at least you will claim in response that the customer is to blame for your defects or that they are fine. Incredibly.

I would like to receive a new bowl with a quality finish if at all possible and no longer deal with this company. Exchange dozens of emails to get my rights. Incredibly.

I am very disappointed.

I received my Yum Asia Panda a couple of months ago and had to review it as I was am so delighted with it. I spend a lot of the year living in a small space and the versatility of the Panda has been incredibly useful. I use it at least six days of the week, often twice a day. I use it for rice, cakes and slow cooking one pot curries. It’s just the right size for two and is very easy to clean. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

Lovely website. Very cute and Japanese tech that also shows in the build quality. Brilliant!

New to Asian food. I never liked it before. The panda cookbook got me loving it for the first time. Now I'm saving for a rice cooker and some good quality rice from here.

Why, why why don't more chefs on TV use rice cookers instead of making a mess of it in a pan. Yum asia needs to get on TV and how them how it's done.

It's not a rice cooker revolution that they started 20 years ago, it was an awakening (Certainly in my country that is).

Uncle Roger would throw Zojirushi away and get a Yum Asia rice cooker. They are that good.

Yum Asia care about their customers. My Oyu has been used daily for 3 years now in my apartment and it's quick and energy saving.

I like very much your products, especially integral basmati. just a little difficult to close the 5 kilos packaging.

Cheaper than other brands which have less features. I'll probably buy their rice as I think it's equally going to be good.

Our purchase from Yum Asia made our family very happy this month with pleasantly full stomachs.

Very good. My order was missing the inner bowl for some reason but I think that was Amazon warehousing doing their usual careless shipping.

I have no clue about rice cooking but love rice. Then I found Yum Asia to have some of the best priced and best reviewed rice machines available so it was an easy purchase and can reommend.

Tsuki is perfect for cooking koshihikari rice (which I was educated by Yum Asia as being used for sushi). I didn't realise that sushi rice is not a thing but is actually just short grain rice prepared in a certain way. I love the way Yum Asia are passionate about rice and enjoy helping and sharing with the wealth of information they have. The helpful support team made the buying process a breeze.

Good products with quick delivery. No waiting for shipping from far away and more importantly for me, no customs or importation fees as the productsa re sent from local warehouses.

We had a few brands to choose from but Yum Asia stood out for several reasons. They seem to have levelled up Zojirushi products by using better materials, more advanced displays and more tuned in cooking settings. Basically they gave me what I've been looking very hard for.
