There has been great communication throughout. and have been supported amazingly well, with my move into working in a school environment. I just want to say a huge thank you to everyone involved.

Update: knocked down 1 star because I haven't even been paid on time! I don't agree with umbrella companies, but generate's website promises "100% on time payment, guaranteed". If they're going to deduct so much from your pay, you'd think they'd at least pay you on time. I can't even call them to chase up until Monday and Zen rarely answer phone calls.

It's been 2 weeks and the number of requests that come through aren't sufficient. You can forget about working to get your DBS refunded after 10 bookings - its impossible to get any work!

I like the app experience as it makes receiving reply requests easy and convenient, however the requests from schools go EXTREMELY fast - within 30 seconds. I don’t feel there’s guaranteed work so you would definitely have to sign up to another agency.

It’s extremely difficult to get into contact with zen through phone, app when my recruitment officer stopped replying to my emails, it was hard to get in touch with anyone. When I finally did, explaining I wanted a child only DBS (some schools and agencies do not accept child & adult DBS, which Zen create) I was assured this would be put on file, but it didn’t - I had to get another DBS created with another agency.

When I have gotten through to staff, they are genuinely friendly and helpful. Hopefully my experience gets better with time.

Working through Zen Educate has been a really positive experience for me. They were supportive, professional, and helped me secure a role at Paddock Secondary School where I’ve now successfully moved into a permanent position.

I really enjoyed my experience working for Zen Educate. The staff are so lovely and friendly and they are always willing to help! Matilda was such a joy to talk to she was very friendly, chatty and extremely helpful she helped me a lot with the whole process of my DBS and helped much more after. Shannon was very helpful and kind I unfortunately didn't get to speak to Shannon much but when I did she was lovely she also helped me a lot with any questions I had. Charlie was also very helpful, chatty and kind he would help me a lot with the navigation/time to the school. all three always made sure to ask how I am Overall the staff I have spoken to have been amazing they are very dedicated to helping you in the best way they can. The application process took awhile as the DBS takes some time to come back however it is all definitely worth it. My interview was one of the best! Matilda was the person who did my interview and she made me feel so much calmer and she chatted to me which made me feel a lot better for the interview. The only issue I had was I was not getting called into work as often so some weeks I wouldn't work at all for a long period of time, however I do understand that the agency is a zero hour contract. Overall my experience working for Zen Educate has been amazing and the Staff have helped through every step and supported me they are very supportive and extremely kind!

Today at Strathmore School, Grey Court Campus was both a challenging and rewarding experience. Supporting children within the SEN setting required patience, adaptability, and understanding, as every pupil had different needs and ways of learning. Despite the challenges, it was incredibly fulfilling to see the positive impact of the support provided, especially when the pupils allocated to me were able to complete their tasks successfully and grow in confidence throughout the day.
One of the most interesting aspects of the experience was learning how small actions such as encouragement, gentle guidance, and positive reinforcement can significantly influence a child’s engagement and progress. It was rewarding to help pupils develop independence by nudging them to take the lead in their work while also redirecting and supporting them whenever they struggled or became distracted.
The teachers and staff at the school were highly cooperative, supportive, and approachable. They provided valuable guidance on how to effectively manage challenging situations and communicate with pupils in a calm and constructive manner. Their experience and willingness to help created a positive learning environment for both the children and support staff.
I am also extremely grateful to the company for the training provided prior to the placement. The training gave me a better understanding of how to support children with additional needs, how to encourage positive behaviour, and how to respond appropriately in different situations. Overall, the experience was insightful, impactful, and has strengthened my passion for working within SEN education.

Zen Educate operates a high-volume, app-based recruitment model, but they also maintain strict vetting standards that lead to mass rejections or a lack of placements for most of the applicants. Please, do not lose your time and money with this!

I had a great time working at kisharon school today, I enjoyed being involved in music, dancing, and storytelling activities like Beauty and the Beast, which made learning fun and engaging for the children.

They started working with me, but then the gal that was working with me just went silent. I haven't heard from Zen in 3 months. 2 stars because the app is easy to use.

I have had a very positive experience with Zen Educate. I really appreciate that everything is done digitally, which makes the whole process simple, efficient, and easy to manage.

I especially love the app. It is practical, modern, and very easy to navigate and use, which makes finding and managing work straightforward. Other agencies could really benefit from adopting a similar approach.

What stands out the most is how supportive the consultants are. They genuinely care, take the time to listen, and make sure that I feel valued and supported.

Working with Zen has been an absolutely great experience, with all of the staff being nothing but lovely and the flexibility is great. I’d absolutely recommend to anyone looking for fulfilling agency work that is fairly paid. Thanks so much, especially to Hollie, Jack and Lee!
