Staff were all so friendly, patient and understanding. The vets looking after our cat, Kelly and Siobhan, were excellent at their job and experts in their field. We can’t thank you all enough.

Pet Care Advice
Customer Hub
Pet emergencies can happen at any time – including when your regular vet is closed.
That’s why our nationwide network of out-of-hours pet emergency clinics are open through the night, at weekends and on bank holidays, so we’re ready and waiting to provide expert pet emergency care when your regular vet is having some time off.
Our pet emergency clinics are the pet equivalent of A&E and our purpose is to give you and your pet the care and support you deserve, at the time you need it most, whether it’s four in the morning or in the middle of Sunday lunch.
Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from over 60 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 200,000 small animals every year — our highly-skilled team works hard throughout the night, weekends and Bank Holidays. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.
We’ve also pioneered other ways to help pets, pet owners and the veterinary profession, such as our comprehensive referrals service and providing our staff with industry-leading training and development opportunities. We also support the pet blood transfusion charity, Pet Blood Bank UK. Meanwhile, our two hospitals — in Glasgow and Manchester — are home to some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field of emergency and critical care and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

All staff attended to us on arrival.Made myself, son and daughters at ease as we were very anxious about our cat, whom had lost a lot of weight after being missing for three weeks. The vet was excellent and he done a full health check from top to bottom, explaining and reassuring us as he went along and it was good news to hear that no hospitalising or treatment was needed. Our questions on the next steps on how to care for our cat at home and what to do were fully answered and also explained very well which helped to relieve our worries. It was a very overwhelming time for us but all staff on hand at our visit were very patient and understanding. The overall service provided was excellent.

My 14yr old beloved pet was put to sleep a week ago. When I rang Vets Now I was told it would be £300+ to just see someone. I have read about your costs, (so please do not direct me there) and I understand why they may be more than in hours costs, however when I was told it would be £100 retention fee for my
deceased pet to remain in the practice until the pet crematorium could collect her (which I arranged myself), I was horrified and distraught. There is NO
justification for that. She obviously did not require any care whatsoever. I took her to the pet crematorium myself, which was by far the best option. I lost another dog just 2 weeks previously and the care
& compassion from my own vet practice was outstanding. There was no offer of
memory making with yourselves, fortunately the pet crematorium did this
for me.
With the outrageous prices being charged, this is the least you could have done.

Staff were lovely courteous and helpful and provided treatment for my dog . However extremely dissatisfied with high out of hours consultation fee for out of hours appointment. I’m sure this is a barrier for many people seeking urgent treatment for their pets resulting in the animal suffering. I’m aware that getting staff to cover out of hours can be challenging but this charge is extremely high when staff are already in building, I’m also very aware how much vets can charge for a single overtime shift which frankly is obscene when profit is put first . Whilst I value vets expertise and I’m sure many also morally struggle with this charging policy ,there must be a better way to run this franchise without extreme overheads passed to customers which ultimately has an effect on them seeking treatment for pets

Clear advice from vet for our young dog, alleviated our immediate fears and gave great advice and warnings to look out for, advised to see a vet in person as soon as they opened back up after weekend, re swollen after spaying surgery...

The vet that we saw was incredibly rough with my cat and acted scared of him when he hissed because she pulled him around on the table. She did not examine him and criticised me as a pet owner. She was incredibly rude and dismissive and I was disgusted with the experience.

Really let down. Disappointed in the complaint and investigation process as well. Timescales to answer are out. I had to mail several times to be heard the first time, never mind during and at the end.
After finally getting a discussion with someone, l was told, I'll be passing all this on to the relevant member of staff and speaking to them and I'll call you back in x amount of time and go over that with you / feedback. The death of my baby still so raw. Unhappy with treatment and outcomes/decisions. (Still do not agree with the half hearted attitude and sent home with like 2 days worth of painkillers. Even the morning vet identified it was seizures and took things from there) I certainly did not need that or forgotten. Even at this point chasing up was not an easy process. Your answering timescales do not work. Does not happen.
The difference between night vet and first thing in the morning, night and day, attitude..night and day, taking time and explaining options and all possibilities, night and day! Prices, night and day.
For over £300 and a person on benefits, it's a lot. But they love their animal. Give them the time, attitude and answers they need and deserve. And don't say on putting them to sleep before even looking at them. Again, that upset me. I'm there for answers obviously and to know what is wrong. All because l was upset. Aren't tears normal in certain circumstances and worrying!
But, imagine failing to call someone back and forgetting about them. Understanding the attitudes and the suffering and death of my pet meant something to me. It was something l needed. Needed for closure. I hope l never need emergency again!! I pray to god. Let down in more ways than one!

You could not adequately deal with my concerns the first time round, so, why would I go through all that again. You don't reply. Don't keep your word. Promised timescales are a joke. Your letter of apology in the end is where we parted company. After the new complaint of forgetting to correspond the results of the first!! That's how serious it was taken and how l was feeling.

The service allowed me to get advice and reassurance for my dog and removed the need for an out of hours appointment. The vet was extremely pleasant and helpful, listened to what I was asking and gave me the information I wanted and needed to make sure the dog was helped over the weekend.

Was very concerned about 13w old pup who had severe diahorrea and vomiting.
Took him to Kilmarnock Clinic who examined him thoroughly, explained possible causes.
I opted for xray to check for partial blockage, thankfully it came back clear.
Pup had v nasty gastrointestinal bug...was kept overnight on drip for dehydration.
Got him home in morning, a much happier wee pup, along with advice re feeding bland diet and to contact my usual vet if vomiting started again or lots of blood on poo.
Yes, it's expensive, but I wouldn't hesitate to use again if needed.

My dog had difficulty breathing as earlier that week my dog was diagnosed with pneumonia. It was early evening so I called and was directed to Vets Now.
The Fees were absolutely astronomical £280 just for consultation. I can not believe how expensive it was and I felt for the sake of my dog I had to take her.
The price concerns me as many people would not be able to afford it meaning animals will suffer
