I had a question regarding my new glasses concerning the reactive lenses which didn't appear to be working. I spoke with staff over the phone who said I needed to return them to the store so they could be sent to the lab. I acknowledged my transport issues being nearly 50.miles from the store. I agreed to try and return when I could. When I did, the staff were helpful and rather than take the glasses asked me to wait. Turns out the lenses' crystals needed to be activated by Sun light.
I was so grateful to come away with my glasses, but to have saved my 100 mile round trip, it would have been helpful for the staff when I phoned to suggest I try the bright light. Perhaps something staff can infirm customers of in future?

This is a review for Glasgow Byres Road branch
I booked an eye test for my daughter who is already a patient of this branch as she has been suffering from migraines. Her last eye test was October 2024, almost 2 years ago. Was called by the branch the day before the appointment and advised that if the optician didn’t find anything wrong with her then it would cost me £46. I asked the person I spoke to to email me a copy of my own prescription and the last eye test (I had the report before as I had to submitted to my private health insurance) she said they don’t do this.
The girl really couldn’t care less about the cancelled appointment and emailed me over a photo of a clipboard with what I assume my prescription is and told me I can go a gdpr request for my eye report (rather than just send to me)
I had an eye injury recently, whilst the optometrist was really helpful, my experience with the floor staff also left a lot of be desired on that occasion.
I hope the shop sees this and asks the staff to drop the attitude they seem to have developed.

Amina, Dutch and the optician are excellent professional. They have examined my eyes carefully and made very useful suggestions! Many thanks to them!

Great. Not too hard sell for all the nonsense opticians try and tell you need for my readers. Hence me leaving my last opticians. Thanks for a good experience.

You keep cancelling the appointment- am still hopeful my prescription will not have changed when they do arrive

The optician was very good, the lady doing the pre test tests was very good but I do not like the crowd of staff stood waiting for when you come out of the test room.
Upon collecting my glasses the staff member was ok but very poorly cleaned the lenses after taking the pre placed dots off.
The worst bit was when I went back in to talk to someone about an issue with my left lens was being patronised by a staff member, I am not a child and know what my lenses should do! This will be the last time I use Specsavers.

I bought 2 pairs of glasses online taking advantage of the 2 for 1 offer but unfortunately I somehow entered the wrong prescription in the online box and ended up with glasses that were double the strength I needed! When I looked online about aftercare and if I had any issues I was directed to take the glasses to my local SpecSavers shop in Springfield Chelmsford (inside Sainsbury's) It turned out that I should have sent the glasses back via the online site but Luckily for me the manager Amber had a chat with her Director and they agreed to put the correct lenses in the glasses which saved me the cost and time of sending them back. The service was excellent and I had my glasses with the correct lenses within 1 week and what's more I had a fitting as well to make sure they were perfect! I highly recommend Specsavers Springfield! Fantastic service!
