Recommend Boots Chippenham
I have had my glasses for 8 months on the 3 rd time of the arm breaking they said I had to pay for a new pair well just the frame. I’ve had glasses that have lasted me 4 years . It’s a joke it’s the 1st time I went there wasn’t really happy and still not with my prescription so I will not go back there . I have complained to customer services they are taking there time getting back to me. So it’s a NO NO NO TO BOOTS OPTICIANS
On time, helpful staff and experienced eye test received
I wanted a screw put into my glasses as the arm had fallen off and Boots Bournemouth sorted it very quickly. Adriano was very polite, friendly and helpful. I was pleased as my glasses were not even from boots and the service was free.
today as horrible i went into boots i have epilepsy and im colour blind went into boots and was shocked at the horrible service i recieved the man told me that my glasses will cost 120 with a voucher and then told me to pay extra for colours when my prescription barely changed he then told me if i want free glasses to go back to boots in westway for free and that i should by some designer it looks nice on young people i told him no thank you and walked out im disgusted i do not recommed this man was very rude
I went for a free contact lens assessment and trial, as soon as I told her my glasses prescription, she said I couldn't have the assessment or trial because I have a 0.50 prism in my prescription, and you can't have a prism in contact lenses, and she wouldn't prescribe contact lenses without a prism because that's not my prescription and she doesn't know why I have the prism, I'd already told her the prism is just for fatigue due to some neurological issues, she said she also couldn't talk to the optician who prescribed it and she couldn't check my eyes herself. There is several problems with this. First of all, if there are things that prohibit people having a trial, then those questions should be asked, there should be a screening process before making the appointment. I am very disabled and mostly housebound, I literally get out of the house approximately once a week, and its nearly always for an appointment, to waste my time and energy on getting there for no reason, I nearly burst into tears. Also I've now spoken to another optician, and they said contacts without prisms might be fine, they won't know without assessing me, which is exactly what Boots should have done.
Finally I made it to Boots for my eye test, I went to our local store in Chichester (north street). I was a bit early but a young lad greeted me and before I could sit down I was ushered into a small room to have my eyes tested. The lad was very pleasant and very friendly, it’s not a difficult process and we got through it fairly quickly. He offered me the extra eye photo which he had noticed I had on my last appointment. Once I was finished I went back to the waiting area and was met by Charlotte Smith, who took me to another room and explained that she was going to check my eyes. Charlotte talked me through each test and explained what she was doing. It was during the physical eye examination that she spotted an issue in my right eye. She explained that she needed to take another photo of the eye to confirm what she had spotted. During this whole process she was very calm and caring and at no time did I feel uncomfortable with what was being explained to. Charlotte is a credit to her occupation and to Boots and demonstrates a high level of confidence in the process and was able to convey to me what the next steps would be. I am very grateful for her attention to detail and professionalism. Thank you Charlotte.
In Hull - St Stephen- Elly did a great job and I am really happy about it. She is a great asset to the company.
I had an eye exam in Spalding. It was a highly professional experience with a great customer-focused approach. The service was excellent from start to finish.
Excellent customer service. Complex lenses prescription are perfect.
The optician and dispensing option were very pleasant and helpful.
Delighted with my new soectacles.
Very pleasant staff it all went smoothly pleased with the price I paid.
I recently popped into the Gloucester branch to see if I could get my glasses repaired Sam sorted them out perfectly even though I’d had them a while 👍a big Thankyou
I gave that score because the frames only cost £50 but the overall cost of the glasses was £272. Disgusting how you expect people to afford them. Especially every year.
I started using Boots Opticians when it was still Dolland & Aitchison, back in the 1990s. I was always very happy with the level of care, professionalism and awareness of serious eye conditions at each visit.
I had my last annual check-up at my local Boots optician last September. I needed a new pair of prescription glasses, so I chose new frames with ultra-thin lenses. Nobody bothered to phone me to let me know they had arrived in store, and it took four separate visits to get them to fit me properly and comfortably!
Last month, my husband and I each had an appointment for a routine check-up. On arriving we were told that their Optical Coherence Tomography machine wasn’t working.
My husband has wet macular degeneration and the optician said she wouldn’t even check his vision. She said she’ll do that when his treatment ends! I would have thought she knew that treatment for wet age-related macular degeneration rarely ends as it is about on-going management!!
Foolishly, I persevered and went back today only to discover that the Optical Coherence Tomography machine still wasn’t working. The optician didn’t want to check my eyes without having a scan performed first.
I wish Boots Opticians had had the common courtesy of letting me know the necessary equipment still wasn’t functioning before I wasted several hours of my day getting to and from my non-appointment.
I am now actively looking for a new optician.
Best experience at an optician.

As a diabetic pensioner, I have a retinol eye examination with photo carried out each year, now last week I attended Boots for my regular eye examination of which after the examination it was suggested that I pay £25 to
check if I am developing Cataracts to my eyes, after telling them that this is checked at the hospital during retinol eye test, I was told that this is a completely different test, so I went ahead and paid the £25.00.
I have just learned today that this is EXCACTLY the same test as I've just had, therefore i require my money back and going to report them to their Governing Body. !!!
Took my mum today to Boots opticians in Scunthorpe High Street to collect her new glasses, we were served by Sarah
