Great customer service. I was a holiday walk in with broken glasses which Greg quickly repaired for me.

Excellent Service which provided everything I wanted. The lady doing the follow up prescription took every care and seemed genuinely interested in what I said. She showed me a good selection of the glasses available and gave her opinion on all of them. Top quality!

When making my appointment on the phone, I asked as many questions as I possibly could about signing up to the Contact Lens Plan. I was given prices and told the offers that would include. After completing my appointment, I was then charged for the sight test (previously informed that was included in the plan). Upon signing up for the plan, I was informed that it would not include contact lens solution which was an additional £4.00 a month. Boots also take 3 months of payment before sending out lenses, or you can pay 3 months at once if you want the lenses sooner. Whilst I can't fault the service, I find that omitting information when someone is questioning is misleading and that is why I have given a low rating.

Taken quickly and eye test carried out quite efficiently. The staff were all very helpful and friendly without being pushy.

As this is my first appointment with Boots Opticians i am very pleased with the service and advice that they gave to me regarding the type of glasses that i required, The staff that was involved in getting me sorted with the right lenses and frames at a good price was great,And as i have just picked them up they said if i have any problems with them just come back and they will sort it out for me.

Noisy and crowded. Despite this branch also selling hearing aids they seem to be clueless working with someone who is deaf/severely hearing impaired. I had stated my deafness when I booked online. The optician spoke to her screen throughout the consultation even when I pointed out my deafness.

There is nothing wrong with the staff, and the treatment that can be arranged is top notch, but the branch at Maldon really needs new premises. Ater years of operating from the same restricted shop patients that were once young enough to manage the very narrow stairs now find them very restricting. It is appalling in this day and age of awareness disability and access needs that something like an opticians (which I imagine more older people than younger probably need), still exists on two levels in such an old and poorly designed building for infirm customers. Esp. when vacant premises often come up within the town which would be far better for the task. Also the promotions such as buy 1 pair, but a 2nd pair half price get 3rd pair free are misleading, when the 3rd pair is about as basic a pair of glasses as could be given and no use for people needing complex prescriptions or already owning varifocals or bifocals. Please give the Maldon shop new premises with urgency!!

I have at this point had a good relationship with Boots and attended appointments and pleased with the good service I have received.
Step forward to this week and I might add not the first time as it happened a while back.
I received a message saying I was due an appointment later the same week I received another message saying sorry I had to cancel my appointment? (Which I had not booked and appointment!)
I emailed Boots and they responded asking for more details which I attempted to reply to on three occasions each time this reply was bounced back to my inbox.
I have given up and in Boots as well and think it's time to try a local opticians or even Specsavers.

I visited the Boots Opticians on Cornwall Street in Plymouth and had a great experience. Richard was extremely helpful, guiding me through the various options and helping me choose the best glasses for my needs. He also pointed out the best deals available. I was able to get everything sorted quickly, and I'm very satisfied.

Been with Boots many years now, dealt with Richard many times, an asset to the store. Unit 66, Merry Hill. Over the years many faces have changed but the staff here are alway’s helpful and professional.
I was due to collect my glasses tomorrow, thought I’d be cheeky and try my luck today knowing damn well I’d be very lucky to walk away with them. But, I did.
Thank you so much for re-illuminating my world again. It was a very special moment for me.
Outstanding store, staff, service. Very grateful for your assistance. Victoria

The person conducting my eye exam was very thorough, explained everything that was being done and was very pleasant and friendly. The exam took around 90 minutes, and the scan outcomes etc, were fully explained and my options explained also. I felt very confident in the person and process.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A truly exceptional experience — thanks to Elma
Three years ago, I left this same Boots branch deeply disappointed — so much so that I gave a one-star review and wrote that I wished I could give zero stars. Today, I'm writing this review with genuine joy, and I want everyone to know why.
I came in to replace my glasses, and from the moment I walked in, every member of staff was kind and professional. But one person stood out in a way I will never forget: Elma.
Elma didn't just serve me — she took care of me. She made me feel like a member of her own family was guiding me through the process. Not once did I feel like I was just another customer being processed as part of someone's daily routine. She listened, she advised, and she genuinely cared about getting me the right result. Her warmth and professionalism completely changed how I feel about this branch.
Elma, you are a credit to Boots. You turned a past disappointment into one of the best customer experiences I've ever had, and I am truly grateful.
I sincerely hope this feedback reaches Boots management and that Elma is recognized and celebrated for the outstanding way she represents your brand. Employees like her are rare, and they deserve to be appreciated.
Thank you, Elma. I'll be back — and I'll be telling everyone about you.

My eye test was booked and confirmed as 10/09/26 but when I arrived I was told my appointment wasn't "on the grid"? and I couldn't be seen. I was told that an attempt to call me had been made the day before. There are no messages on my phone and the member of staff at the reception in Boots Opticians told me she had phoned me but didn't leave a message? I don't answer unknown numbers. Who does? Really poor customer service. Surely the staff ought to be trained to be a bit more proactive? Knowing she had to cancel my appointment why wasn't a message, text or email attempted when her call was unanswered? No contact from them at alI. I live in a semi rural location and not in the city and this cancelled appointment was hugely inconvenient for me in time and travel and parking. The only attempt at being proactive was asking if I was avaliable for a much later appointment that day (4+ hours) or if I wanted to rebook. None of this should have happened, I should have been contacted by customer service to tell me they had cancelled my appointment. I always contact if I need to rearrange any appointment, I wouldn't dream of just not showing up. I was 15 minutes early for my appointment and as I was leaving the store an automated reminder message from Boots about the appointment was delivered via text to my phone!
Very poor service from you Boots Opticians.

The staff were friendly and helpful. Gave honest opinions about the spectacles lens and frames.

I would highly recommend Boots Opticians at Morley. All the staff were so friendly, welcoming and helpful, and the optometrist was excellent, taking the time to explain everything clearly and in detail.
After previously being told by another optician that returning to RGP contact lenses could be a problem for me, I was so pleased to be advised that I could wear them again. I’ve now got my new RGP lenses and I’m absolutely delighted with them!
A really positive experience from start to finish. Thank you to everyone at Boots Opticians for such friendly and professional service. 😊

Initial eye checks were carried out professionally.
Eye drops were then administered by someone else - those caused immediate discomfort and I was then asked to read various objects. I cannot understand why this would be done. I had a diabetic eye test a few days earlier, no such drops were administered.
The discomfort lasted well into the following day.
I was told I had a voucher - this was never given to me. On asking about it I was told it was retained in the shop - I found this very suspicious. I got the impression it was to stop me shopping around.
Hi Boots, thanks for your comments.
I'm due to collect my new glasses tomorrow, I will respond in more detail after this happens.
It took a while to make my appointment yesterday as a staff member was more interested in retrieving my new glasses than listening to my request for an appointment.
I spoke with the store manager who found the very nice girl (Sharon) who had called me that morning and an appointment was made with her help. She is a credit to Boots..
BTW: It seems my comments about cash not being accepted were edited out without my knowledge.
Suffice to say I can see NO reason (no pun intended) for not accepting cash these days. There are cash / card tills in-store, so why can cash not be accepted in the Opticians??
