Good experience, but Mighty is the brand for their oldest campers, so expect lots of noise inside when you're driving (we had to yell at the top of our lungs for the kids to hear us), and broken/age... See more

Highly recommend Mighty Campers. We hired a van and were lucky to get a brand new one. Was so great to travel in and suit all our needs. Will definitely be back. Thanks again

Your people were first rate. The camper was in great condition.

Booked an RV for 4 days, paying a tariff matching the 5 day minimum, plus the "platinum package" for insurance, roadside assistance etc. We are talking about NZD4800 for 4 days of camper van.
When I picked up the vehicle from the queenstown branch, I immediately saw a few red flags: vehicle was 4 years old, had travelled over 90,000km, and the last inspection report showed dings and scratches everywhere. When I pointed out to the attendant that I was paying the same daily price as a 5-star resort in Dubai for this vehicle and would appreciate something in better shape, he arrogantly told me that if I wanted something newer, id have to pay extra for it. The inspection and tour of the RV that followed was rushed through, allowing our friend to be on his way to swindle the next hapless tourist. I was given the keys and hit the road.
Fast forward 3 days later, and what was obviously going to happen happened, with the RV breaking down in the middle of Arthur's pass, stranding me and my wife along with our 2 young children for over 4 hours. To their credit the assistance team showed some basic empathy, and managed to get a mechanic to us before sundown the same day.
Upon return of the camper van, no possibility of the slightest compensation or partial reimbursement for our troubles. I did get to pay the nzd60 road tax calculated from the distance travelled, as a final f*@k you before flying out.
Just another sad example of New Zealand's tourist industry going completely rogue. Approach with caution.

Pick up was easy. We were given a guided tour of the motorhome and the video introduction covered everything. On two occasions I had to call their roadside assistance line because of mistakes made and both times the issue was sorted immediately. Return was easy as well.

The fit out was practical the van handled well was good on fuel and no issues.

When picking up our carefully selected mighty camper (we wanted more of a van, didn't need bathroom as we were spending half our trip in Auckland) we were upgraded to a different camper with a different brand name on it. As apparently they didn't have any mighty campers available. The mighty booking, payment and website was very easy to use. I'm not sure I can write much more about mighty sorry

Staff were great at initial handover and then return. Used the telephone support, due to a fridge issue, couldnt be resolved on the road but managed a workaround. All in all great service.

VERY VERY VERYSlow check in. The transport from the airoprt was not sufficeient, so a whole group were left behind. The chap was pleasant, but forgot to tell us to fill up the water for the toilet after emptying. On return, the check back was beyond dismal. We waited HOURS to give the van back. So much so, that one of our party ( we were 3 vans travelling together) had to miss out on a family get together in Christchurch.

A couple of days into our trip we realized the tread on the front tires of the van were dangerously thin. We contacted the company and they arranged for immediate replacement. I suppose one could argue that this should have been checked before we collected the van but it was a couple of hours out of our day, the company acted immediately and thus we were happy. The overall experience was fantastic and we would definitely recommend exploring NZ by campervan, you see so much more.

Collection and drop off were very efficient, van was clean and well maintained with any small areas of damage pointed out to us and photographed . The refreshment area and facilities added to the smoothness.

The lady at checkout made it great. She was sympathetic as to why I had to fly home early and helped well beyond what is needed.

Customer service was very responsive and helpful at all phases of booking, collection and using the van. It was a well thought out process supported by extra information available on demand like videos on how things worked. We had a great family holiday touring the north island and are planning to do this again for the south island too. The only thing we had trouble with was fitting in everything we wanted to see in ten days, so give yourself a few extra days if you can.

We had a great time traveling over 10 days in our camper, It had everything we needed, was easy to drive and park, only down side was mattresses were not very thick, I would recommend buying a nice thick mattress topper.
Make sure portable heater runs well before leaving the yard

I rented a vehicle from this company but the location name is “Maui Motorhome Rental Queenstown”, and the water heater wasn’t working from the very beginning of the trip. Because of that, I had to take cold showers, and I got sick with a fever right from the second day of the trip and wasn’t well for the rest of it.
When I returned the vehicle, I reported the issue to the staff. They told me they would look into it and follow up by email, but I never heard back.
I’m very disappointed with how this situation was handled.

Awesome to deal with. We were running late and asked they have someone stay behind for us to collect the van. When we got there the whole team was waiting for us. It set us up for what was a great tour of both the North and South Island. I would also use Mighty for any future bookings
