Customer service leaves a lot to be desired
We’ve previously used skirting world and found them very efficient. We’re currently doing a Reno project and needed some skirting to match previous from them. Online they advertise NHS discount via email. Got in touch and they no longer offer but would get us the best price they could for it. It’s taken 4 days of back and forth emails and we’re no closer to getting a quote despite repeatedly chasing. It’s one thing to remove NHS discount, fair enough, but don’t advertise it on your website and at least reply to emails, else how else can I get the quote you promised and place an order with you?? We’ve got builders waiting! Tempted to go elsewhere if only we didn’t have to match the skirting in our other rooms!!

You’re absolutely right regarding the NHS discount - if it’s no longer available, it shouldn’t still be advertised. That’s on us, and we’re reviewing this immediately to ensure the website messaging is accurate and up to date.
More importantly, you shouldn’t have had to chase repeatedly for a quote - apologies for the delay and lack of clarity.

Quality materials, disappointing customer service experience
I’ve used Skirting World several times before and have always been happy with both the product quality and service, which makes this experience particularly disappointing.
On my most recent order, I used the “Order Comments” field (as labelled on both the website and order confirmation) to clearly specify the required breakdown of standard skirting lengths. This was based on the company’s own FAQ and length guidance, which states that 3050mm and 4200mm are standard lengths. The order arrived with the correct total meterage, but not the requested lengths, meaning the skirting isn’t fit for purpose without introducing multiple unnecessary joins.
Customer service advised that order comments are treated as delivery notes and are not checked during order fulfilment due to order volume. While I understand the operational challenge, this is not made clear to customers. The field is explicitly labelled “Order Comments”, which reasonably implies it will be reviewed as part of processing the order.
To resolve the issue, I made it clear that I was happy to pay for an additional length to complete the job properly, and asked that the delivery charge be waived and that the extra length be delivered at their convenience alongside an existing local delivery, as the situation arose due to unclear information on the website rather than an ordering error on my part. Despite this being a reasonable and flexible proposal, I have received no further response since 21/01/2026.
While the products themselves are good, the customer service in this instance has been poor, particularly the lack of follow-up on a reasonable request from a repeat customer. Clearer communication and basic engagement would have significantly improved the experience.

My 3rd order with Skirting World
My 3rd order with Skirting World. The other 2 were excellent.
Window board arrived damaged with a gouge on the top face The underside also had scuffs.
Absolutely no packaging, so damage virtually inevitable.
Damage reported within 2 hours.
I noted my disappointment but stated that due to time constraints I would have to use the window board and re finish it myself.
No response to my email.
Chased up 1 week later.
Finally, 9 days after deliver, received an apology asking if I could flip the piece and hide the damage on the underside - all pointless as it has already been fitted and repaired by this stage.
Not good enough on packaging or delivery, and customer service from office manager James was substandard. I would have thought an offer of recompense was appropriate for delivering damaged goods, but it was not forthcoming. Order 429310.
