Poor untimely communication

I purchased a skirting board from this company via B&Q. Several days after placing my order I received an email to say that this has been cancelled as they do not deliver to my area. It would have been appreciated if this had been communicated much sooner so that I could look elsewhere for what I need. I’m also not sure why I’m able to place an order if the company doesn’t deliver to my area. Perhaps the error for that was with B&Q, but National Skirtings took a long time to communicate this to me. I’m waiting for work to be finished in my house and this skirting board is required before the remaining work can continue, and a week has just been wasted waiting for it.

Go elsewhere!

Skirting covers arrived, held together with cellophane wrap in one section with no box or protection.

All covers were scratched and one corner significantly damaged but luckily could be cut off. 2 of the covers had been stuck together so when they were pulled apart, it damaged the face of both and had to be sanded, filled, sanded and re primed adding days to the job and costing much more for the tradesmen to rectify.

I called first and was told they can only respond to emails (why list a phone number then?) but that someone would email me that day. Emailing National Skirting was pointless as it took another 4 days to receive a response - I was then fobbed off, received a sarcastic passive aggressive response and then offered a measly refund of the cost I paid to have them primed, which nowhere near covered my additional cost - which I am still waiting on.

The quality is poor - they're cheap MDF and the customer service was rubbish.

I wish I'd paid more attention to reviews and would recommend anyone go elsewhere unless you want no end of hassle.

Seamless Transaction

Polite and efficient staff when ordering making the transaction really smooth.
Kept fully up to date as to when the delivery was due and really courteous driver. Overall a really great experience and I would highly recommend them.

Everything was wrong.

Ordered some panelling slats and they were all different lengths and none of the cuts were square. They were all over the place and absolutely useless. Even worse they have a long 10-14 day delivery period. They took 18 days to arrive. Avoid!

Lovely product!!

Can't fault the product from this supplier, really good quality at really competitive prices. After some initial confusion customer services promptly rectified the errors. Will definitely order from here again.

Dreadful company to deal with

Dreadful company to deal with,
Waited a month for an order which said 10 to 14 days delivery with no communication at all **edit** following this review i got a very passive aggressive email from them so i am updating the review to include the items they addressed; There was no expedited delivery option available on the website on 9th December and no Holiday opening hours stated either, the tracking link for me to follow my order hasnt been updated since 9th December too, hence i requested they cancel and refund it via the dispute process due to the lack of contact over the delays and they're refusing until I mark the dispute as resolved, which ive refused to do for obvious reasons. Do better National Skirting. Its MDF, not the crown jewels.

Avoid this company I’ve been waiting 3 weeks for my order and still no sign of it , emailed the and they said it’s coming in 2 days and I’ll get a text the day before , guess what I’ve no text so doesn’t look like it s coming on the day they said

Hi Jonathan, Sorry you feel this way, your order was delivered inside of your chosen 10-14 working day lead time, and delivered on the day shown on your tracking. Texts are sent out to every delivery, I can see yours was send to you 19/12/25 at 16:12. We do offer faster lead times if required, but in this instance we have delivered to specification.

Extremely bad quality product and customer service

The quality of the product is well below expectation. I have ordered 3 door sets of architrave and every straight edge has damage either through transport or it looks like it has been cut with a really blunt blade and has ripped chunks of the mdf off. The primer is patchy at best. I had complained about this, and got told that I must be a bad batch, I asked if they could check the stuff that comes out, to which they proposed they would, and the replacement architrave is arguably worse. Now they won't respond to my emails and dismiss my phone calls. Ridiculously bad customer experience.

First time buying from national skirting, won’t be last, customer service exceptional, delivery on time, and quality first class, driver most helpful. Overall could not fault anything. Excellent company to deal with

Great service

Great company. Supplied 60 metres worth of skirting within 3 days without charging exortionate prices like so many other online suppliers. We were very happy with delivery and quality of the boards. We even managed to get them to assist in sending an additional plank to fulfil our Reno before Christmas! Would highly recommend!

Bought £900 worth of primed skirting…

Bought £900 worth of primed skirting and dado - shocking quality - needs completely sanding out and repriming - worst decision we made during our reno!!

National Skirting replied with: it was nearly 2 years ago (16 months) and seems a bit bizarre.

16 months isn't 2 years ago and doesn't mean anything - if it's bad it's bad and they've not had anything else to say about the quality. I've only just reviewed as it's been a stressful year!
