Worst experience ive ever had with customer service

Where do I start? Useless software, cant even register my loan on the app. Useless customer service department, took 4 months to resolve a simple login issue and in the end I had to create a whole new email address for them because they couldn't re-use mine. Their software and costomer service sucks, my data was also leaked. I brought all the issues id had to the attention of the complaints department and told them i would refinance with another lender if they didnt fix the issues and lower my absurdly high intrest rate to be more in line with the quotes I was getting from other lenders. Instead of fixing the issues i got the half arsed work around above and instead of lowering my intrest rate they told me they were going to raise it! On a fixed loan!? Appalling service, Appalling company, will not be dealling with again.

Unyielding and Unsatisfactory - A 1-Star Experience with Latitude Money

I am deeply disappointed and frustrated with Latitude Money, prompting me to give them a 1-star rating. Despite my willingness and earnest attempts to meet my loan obligations, my request for a slight reduction in my monthly payments for a period of six months was met with an unyielding stance. The only solution Latitude Money offered was to apply for hardship, leaving no room for negotiation or understanding of a customer's genuine intent to pay. This rigid approach reflects poorly on their customer service and flexibility, especially in times when a little understanding could go a long way.

Adding insult to injury, my experience was further soured by Latitude Money's handling of a security incident that affected my ID among others. The lack of empathy and adequate support during such a critical time was disheartening. It's as if the financial well-being and privacy of their customers are of no consequence to them.

It's incredibly frustrating to feel cornered into a situation where defaulting seems like the only option Latitude Money expects from its customers, perhaps to leverage additional fees or penalties. This experience has been nothing short of disheartening, and it's clear that customer welfare is not a priority for Latitude Money. I was merely seeking a more manageable way to clear my debt without defaulting, yet it seems that understanding and support are too much to ask for from them.

To anyone considering Latitude Money for their financial needs, I urge you to think twice. The lack of flexibility, empathy, and customer-centric solutions in my case has been a glaring issue. It's crucial to partner with a financial institution that values its customers and is willing to work with them through their financial journeys, rather than one that sees them as mere numbers.

Total scam!

The customer service should actually be least of my(our) worries. What's more disturbing is that these guys are scammers and thieves. Namely,I bought a car 4 years ago and the contract was for 4 years. I've been paying off $450-$460 a month. I rang these guys today to find out whether everything is going according to schedule, just to find out that I owe another $10.000 and that all this time I've been paying off my interest only, and that, according to the customer service guy,I have signed a 7 year contract, where clearly states on my contract that I have signed a 4 years contract. So, that means that a car that I bought for 17.000, now I have to pay together with interest $35.000 for it? That means they charged me over 19% interest without letting me know? Let's say I was mad and agreed to this, who guarantees me that after 7 years they won't say that I owe another $10.000? How is this even allowed to happen in a western democratic country? What's this country has turned into since it's allowing scammers run a shark loaning business?

Absolutely terrible customer service…

Absolutely terrible customer service and worse, misleading product disclosure! There is apparently a difference in x monthly instalment & 0% and x month interest free. They don’t allocate your monthly payment to the transactions under x month interest free - and what happens is they wait until the interest free period is over and here you are - your principal is untouched and they charge you interest then! When you ring their customer service to ask for help - absolutely the worse people to talk to! Their escalation team is even worst! They are so rude, unprofessional, combative and untrained as to what customer service should be. They talk over you, raise their voice, and they have an hard time understanding what is the issue. Not to mention they don’t call back in the timeframe they say they will and so you have to call back and wait for more than 30 mins to be answered by their escalation team. This experience is not just once and not just one customer service representative.

I would not recommend at all Latitude and will be taking my business somewhere else. If there was a lower rating than 1 - I would have given this.

I tried to increase my credit limit

I tried to increase my credit limit, I don't have a salary or pension going into my account, which is what they want, so supplied copies of my superannuation, share trading account, and bank balance, all up well over a million dollars, but that was no good, according to these clowns, I'd be more credit worthy if I was on a pension. And don't get me started on their incompetent call centre staff in India. I've started an application with BankWest, when it comes through I'm gone from this company.

The absolute slowest and worst banking company

The worst customer services, the worst app and website, and be aware that it takes 6 days for your credit card payment to clear. Even though they take the money instantly from you, it somehow takes 6 days to clear against your credit card. Highly recommend going with ANY other company

If I could give a 0 I would.

If I could give a 0 I would.

Matter relates to a refund for a purchase I made which was processed twice by a merchant and 1 was properly refunded by the merchant, but never acknowledged by Latitude. It took me a few months to realise that it was never acknowledged and when I called to put a dispute through it took almost 1 month for them to process a refund. However on the same day I received a refund, I also received a new transaction for the amount that had been refunded. I called again and this time it took about 6 weeks for them to resolve this transaction and refund me correctly. Except this time they've added the refund amount on top of my original purchase. So to give an idea my purchase was for $1235, but now my balance owing on this purchase is $1971.74. Every time I've called its been 30mins+ on the phone and constantly repeating myself to numerous people in different departments. A week ago I was promised a call back within 24hrs and still waiting. Couldn't get through to call centre so jumped online and again have been promised a call back within 24hrs. USELESS!

Can I remove the star? One Star Rating Is Actually a Negative One Star!

I received an initial email alerting me that my driver's license information had been stolen. However, several weeks later, I received a second email that caused me to panic as it revealed that all of my personal details, such as my bank account, place of employment, age, address, phone number, and salary, had been breached. This breach was a result of a loan document being compromised.
It was quite an inconvenience for me to have to travel over an hour to the nearest agency from my rural home in order to replace my license.
At first, I thought of requesting a reimbursement, but upon reaching the bottom of the application, I noticed that I needed to tick certain boxes in order to claim it. However, I decided to abandon the claim as the first box ticked would absolve them of any responsibility since they agreed to only refund payment of $38.20. Currently, I am part of a class action lawsuit against them and I am hopeful to receive much more than just $38.20 NZD in compensation.
I was asked to provide my bank account details in the second box, which I found concerning. I didn't want to risk giving away more personal information that could potentially be stolen. This is unacceptable.
I regularly visit their news page for any updates, but unfortunately, there seems to be no new information. It appears as though they have resolved the issue and are not focused on keeping their customers informed. However, the tone of their emails lacked sincerity and empathy towards affected customers. Additionally, they have not made any updates to their website's security pages. Quoted:
'Your security is always our priority. Check out how we keep your information secure and learn how to protect yourself from the latest scams.'
How We Protect You - See how we manage and protect your personal information.'
'Keeping your personal and financial information safe is a full-time job. Read all about the steps we take to safeguard your information and your account.'
and more... it's a JOKE!
Recently, my mother received a letter notifying her of the loss of her documents, which happened four months after the breach. In late 2020, she requested me to email Gem Finance to cancel her credit card. However, they only responded in the middle of 2021. To make matters worse, my mother still received credit card statements for an account that was supposed to be closed a year earlier, at the end of 2021.
As I am repaying a loan, I find myself frequently tempted to skip payments due to the inadequate support and lack of commitment shown towards the over 8 million customers whose privacy was breached and compromised.
I hope for a successful outcome in obtaining compensation for the significant billions of dollars it would require for a payout, including the additional expense of $4 million for license reimbursements.
The only form of support available is circumventing their incompetence and reluctance to handle angry and frustrated customers by providing voluntary ID Care.
It's concerning when a lending company lacks star ratings and honesty. It's hard to understand why anyone would want to open an account with them. How can they continue to do business this way?

Most incompetent company i've ever come across

I closed out a loan with them a long time ago, I had my vehicle as collateral.

I went to sell my car yesterday and was told it still had finance on it. So for the past 2 days i've been on hold for 6 hours and counting, transferred to 4 different departments, hung up on 3 times. I have been told my account is closed and for some reason no one can tell me why the hell my vehicle is still in their system and they are telling me they can't remove it.

I'm losing out on money because of these incompetent morons. 100% do not recommend any of their services.

Will be contacting the ombudsman tomorrow.

Utter incompetence

The data breach announced on March 27, 2023 is inexcusable in itself but Latitude's response has made it even worse. I contacted them immediately, requesting information as to which of my identity documents had been compromised. 3 weeks later they still have not responded. Obviously their promised reply within 2 business days will be impossible, given that so many customers have been affected (so why promise that in the first place?) but 3 weeks? In any case they should have been upfront about what personal data they failed to protect, rather than make me ask for it. Latitude is a disgrace!
Edit April 26: It gets worse. The staff either can't read, are being deliberately obstructive or simply aren't the sharpest tools in the shed. After 26 days I got a boilerplate answer saying customers will be notified about the details of their comprised documents by email. I responded 3 times that it was precisely this information that I had not received. I am still none the wiser. Talk about incompetence.

False info provided after cyberattack

I am disgusted with how this organisation is handling the recent cyberattack. They sent me an email 8 days after event to tell me my information had been taken. Terrible. In the email they said
a) dedicated contact centre was setup
b) reimbursed to replace drivers license

Both points are false.

1 I called the so-called dedicated contact centre, to be told they were not interested in my ref id on my email or will they give me a ticket ID/Case number ID. What sorta shonky contact centre are they running?

2 Drivers license reimbursement. There is already people saying they received nothing. In fact we should of received a coupon number to replace license or advance payment. Reimbursement is not happening.

3 They failed to share the information that was taken (as after all many of us had used them a while back). So we can not even assess the risk correctly.

This event should never of happened in first place. They were suppose to reputable like a bank. As it happened it shows what shonky business they are in fact, and Apple use them as the finance company in Australia and NZ. Ridiculous by Apple.

I also remember when I finished my loan, they didnot record the last payment so it impacted my credit score for years without me knowing.

The customer support was a total disappointment.

The person hung up on us after being on a 33min call trying to resolve a GoMasterCard issue. Our time is as valuable as their employees. We lost time and energy only to be hung up on and never called back!

No integrity

No integrity, false information provided and mis-managed loan. Unresolved:
A) Taking money out of my account when not permitted (money hasn't been returned yet)
B) Link to my loan portal advises I don't have permission to access my loan account.
C) Verbal and system confirmation that direct debit was ceased ( it hasn't been so I've requested bank to block debit).
D) Promised verbal contact by 2 x supervisors which hasn't been honoured.
E) Old loan account hasn't been closed off.

The most shocking experience I've ever had. Just waiting so I can make a complaint to the Obudsman.
