If I can give -ve star rating I will do it. Worst credit card company in Australia. Can't solve your issue but always adding up extra overdue fines. I have been trying since first week of October to... See more

Latitude is profiting off everyday…
Latitude is profiting off everyday Australians. Absolutely shocking conduct. We’ve paid off our account and contacted Latitude 4 times over a 6 month period to close the account. The whole time they charged late payment fees on a zero balance unbeknownst to us tanking our credit score so now we’re struggling to get a mortgage. We’ve got a complaint in with the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA) and taken legal action. I’d encourage everyone have problems to report to AFCA.
Latitude got greedy
The 28 degrees MasterCard was an excellent product until Latitude took it over. No monthly fees and no fees for international transactions made it the ideal card for travelling overseas. Now a monthly $8 fee plus $1.95 to pay the balance using BPAY makes it uneconomical. I would have to spend $313 overseas every single month for it to be competitive with my CBA card which charges 3.5% on foreign transactions. So goodbye Latitude.
To date Latitude is still not charging fees on international transactions, which gives the card some value. The Latitude app is easy to use. I found customer service accessible, (though I did not try to contact them in the aftermath of the data breach) and helpful.
Impossible to contact
Due to their own errors our new David Jones credit card sends its validation pin to an old surface phone number instead of a mobile number, making it impossible to log in.
BTW they also attached a New Zealand area code to that very old Australian surface phone number! Total train wreck of an account transfer.
Since we’ve had a DJs account long before mobile phones existed any decent computer tech would have done a simple test to check “is this an Australian mobile number?”
Compounding their stupidity, we have found it next to impossible to reach a support person due to the same long delays reported by the others on this site.
Like others here, we wonder how best to cancel these cards when the company is so very elusive.
I cannot believe the regulator allows a company to behave like this in Australia.
This company does not even deserve one star. I feel sorry for anyone who is trapped relying on Latitude for money. Fees are absolutely ridiculous. I had a mysterious amount of 3 cents added to my account for interest when I had fully paid it off. Then because I had thought my balance was zero and did not look at the account they started charging me 10.95 per month fee on a 3 cent balance. Absolute thievery. Tried to raise an issue online and no response. Card cancelled.
Dissapointing
I was one of the individuals affected by the data breach, resulting in the need to replace my passport. Due to the breach, my identity could no longer be verified by the ATO, which prevented me from submitting my taxes. Latitude had publicly announced, and stated on their website, that they would provide refunds for such replacements. After several follow-ups and limited communication over the course of a month, I received a refund that covered less than half of the actual cost of the passport replacement, despite still having 5 years left on the previous passport. Based on this experience, I recommend exploring alternative providers, as they have not fulfilled the commitments they made.
Sneaky monthly fees even on zero balance
I can relate to the frustration expressed in many of these comments. After not using my card for two years and maintaining a zero balance, I was shocked to start receiving texts and emails about an overdue account. It turns out they quietly added a $5.95 monthly fee to my inactive account—how is that even legal? When I attempted to close the account, the process was unnecessarily complicated, making it clear they want to squeeze out another month of fees before letting me go. It’s concerning to think about how many unsuspecting customers are affected by this. If there’s ever a class action lawsuit against them, I’m definitely on board. This feels like outright theft.
Don’t deal with them
Don’t deal with them. Extremely poor phone manner by staff. They make it virtually impossible to get approved for a small amount even after providing thorough financials! Shocking!!!
Literally the worst customer service
Literally the worst customer service I have experienced.
Cannot cancel card because there is a fee outstanding. Cannot use app as it says the card is linked to another email address?? I have three and it's not linked to any. Have wasted hours trying to get any sense out of anyone. Hold time can be " up to seven days" on their recordings. When you do get through you would swear you are talking to a spammer in a foreign country. Little empathy. High fees, high interest, shocking service, long wait times and no results still. Have to beg for a paper statement to see what they are charging. Even after I paid the last one the delay in trying to cancel just led to another charge and "it can't be cancelled with a balance owing"! Next step is to advise DJ that Myer is looking good with my Visa! Shocker of a decision to abandon their customers to this outfit.
Their customer service is pathetic and…
Their customer service is pathetic and you have to literally wait for many hours to talk to customer support person and your line is also put on hold by that person and then can also be disconnected by them. If you write to their support email address no one will rely. Never seen such a degraded and pathetic customer service of any organisation so far. Hate to give this company even a single star and they don't deserve to do business.
28 DEGREES CREDIT CARD-NOT WORTH IT! 27.49% interest, $96 annual fee!
So disappointed! It's the highest interest credit card on purchases with 27.49% interest p/a.
Also there is an annual fee of $96, so it's NOT a zero monthly fee anymore! No real benefits nor rewards program at all!
There are many other great credit cards with zero annual fee and much lower interest on purchases with great rewards programs!
Paying of balance made deliberatly difficult!
Still travelling through Europe and trying to pay balance off this retchard card. Keep getting the message"try again in a few hours". With the high cost of travel in Europe you have to be able to clear the balance on your card quickly because you will soon have no credit left! In Australia this company would be described as a "Dad and Dave" outfit. I will ditch this card on my return home. This credit card company is now not fit for purpose. Look elsewhere to avoid the stress when overseas or find out the hard way.
Avoid using Latitude
Predatory product: There are no account reminders for repayments, followed by a $45 late fee. Fees continue to be charged even after the loan is fully paid and the card balance is zero.
28 degrees listing incorrect balance, preventing me from closing my account before monthly fees take place.
I am trying to close my account now that they are introducing an $8/month fee. First I couldn’t close it because I was a few dollars in credit which was refunded to a different account yesterday. Now there’s “$242” missing from my balance with no associated transaction despite me not using the card as its exclusively for travelling. This charge is preventing me from closing my account again and just smells like a scammy excuse to try charge me $8 in september. I’ve checked my recent paypal to make sure I haven’t accidentally charged the card and I haven’t.
. David Jones Latitude Master Card is not reliable
Since beginning of July 2024 I have David Jones Latitude Master Card that replaced my previous Amex DJ credit card.
The transition from one card to another was relatively straightforward.
Until 8./8/24 I was using the card with no issues.
However on 8/8/24 when I tried to pay for service at doctors surgery card was declined showing processing error 60. I called Latitude service and after 70 min waiting i was told that there is no problem!! Yes there was no problem with several merchants with exception of ones using terminals provided by Commonwealth Bank
Several calls later to Latitude, each time waiting about 60+ minutes , they finally admitted that there is technical problem and they are working on it !!!
Today is 13/8 so 6 days later the issue is not fixed yet.
Can’t use card in Aldi Bunnings Spudshed doctor’s surgery etc
Absolutely hopeless service!!!!
Latitude? More like Falls-Flatitude
Long before DJs decided to bin the well established, well regarded American Express and instead roll the dice on dubiously named “Latitude”, I updated my residential address with American Express. For some reason, DJs/Amex/Latiturd (I don’t really know because DJs gave barely any transparency in this process) reverted to my old address when transitioning to Latitude. Latitude sends my new credit card to old address. I call Latitude. Wait for 45 minutes. Speak to someone who is nice, but clueless. I spell my name numerous times. Tells me the card was sent to my old residential address. I tell her my new address. I spell the address numerous times. Painstakingly confirm she has updated the new address. Ask that she cancels the old card and send a new card to my current address. Receive assurances. No card arrives. I infer she has sent it to my old address. Not willing to spend another 45 min calling these people, I intend to close this account pronto and vow to have nothing to do with Latitude again. If they can’t be trusted with card security, how can they be trusted with data security? And goodness help me, I’m going back to Amex where they give me decent customer service and discounted drinks at the Qudos Bank Arena. I hate to leave a review because it’s a bit mean to not complain first, but I don’t even know how to contact them. They haven’t even emailed me to say, “Welcome to Latitude. We know you prefer Amex, but we’re here to win your hearts anyway.” Nothing.
Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service - No one picks up the phone to answer your queries. David Jones made a big mistake to switch from AMEX to Latitute. I am very disappointed with David Jones and am considering canceling this card.
Absolutely pathetic - David Jones Latitude Card
Absolutely pathetic. I have been trying for 2 weeks now to speak to someone and all I get is 1hour wait times. People have jobs and can not sit on the phone for an hour and the time I did get through after stupidly waiting an hour they couldn't assist me and need to transfer me to another department and was put back on hold in queue of 50!!!! I have never dealt with a company like Latitude. Amex was amazing in comparison, David Jones did not think this through and I'm sure will suffer in the long run because of this terrible partnership. I still have not solved my query and I'm sure if I miss understand the payment option I will be penalised. I'm just putting out there that I have tried multiple times to get through and I can not. Not sure what I can possibly do.
Trying to close off David jones Amex…
Trying to close off David jones Amex card. They charged me a $99 fee. Nobody will reply to emails. It says cancellation is ‘in progress’ since then new interest charges have appeared. It’s a nightmare.
If I could give no stars I would
If I could give no stars I would, used to buy a Mac laptop, fully paid off the loan within two months, requested account to be closed, which they stated it had been. Two years later showing up as a current and open account. Requested closure again and then they send me with the first statement I have had in months and charged an account service fee! Not happy is an understatement. Cant speak to anyone, can’t email anyone, can only get in touch via the app which has proven already not to work. Absolutely useless company, and should not be allowed to trade the way they are.
They suspended my card and are not able to make it work again, what a joke!
After only one day of using my card, Latitude has suspended use of it, and they are now not able to get it to work again. What a joke! I was on the line with them for 65 minutes and no one could help. The card is still not working. What a poor decision of David Jones to move to this issuer. Amex was perfect and never had any problems.
