Poor customer service and uncomfortable nights stay!

We stayed at The Gotham hotel on the date stated.The room was lovely,but v cold.We went for a walk round the Christmas market and came back to the room being colder as the night went on.We called reception who was then going to sort from down there,nothing!!So we called again and they were going to find us a heater.20 mins later it arrived.Helped a tiny amount but room had high ceilings and didn’t do much.We had a very disturbed sleep due to it being so cold.
We were meant to have a lazy morning as nothing to rush for but unfortunately that being said we were not informed when we arrived or before hand there was work going on right outside our windows and I’d imagine by now across the whole hotel.It was very noisy with workmen talking,drilling and working way before 9 o’clock.putting up scaffolding.So we got ready and decided to leave it was that loud.I was that disappointed with both incidents that I mentioned to reception who asked if we’d like complimentary breakfast,but we’d missed it by 3 mins.So was arranged for a refund of 20% of our stay.Our room cost just over £179 and was The Irlam.
I then filled out the feedback e mail which arrived the next day and heard back virtually instantly from them,that said to give time and they’d get back to me.Did they NO! I e mailed 3 wks later and have been ignored.
Would I stay again ABSOLUTELY NOT if this is how they treat their paying guests
A very disappointing stay to say the least.Delay in writing review as was hoping to get a reply from them but nothing!

Afternoon Tea - The service from Stephanie our hostess…

The service from Stephanie our hostess was excellent. Very informative helpful and genuinely professional. We really enjoyed our after Tea experience for my husband’s birthday in lovely boutique hotel . The concierge on duty his service too was friendly engaging and he went above and beyond to help us with parking. All together a lovely experience.

Lovely afternoon tea

This was my friend and myselfs second viait for afternoon tea and once again we could not fault it.
Lovely afternoon tea- such a wonderful selection of food and choice of teas - all deliciousWe were so well looked after and it was a lovely way to celebrate our birthdays Thank you

Finally got round to writing a positive…

Finally got round to writing a positive review. Went for afternoon tea in Manchester May this year. Lovely Hotel the afternoon tea was just perfect from start to finish. It was such a positive experience. Since May I have gone to some plush Countryside Hotels for afternoon tea. In comparison this hotel is outstanding for their afternoon teas. The staff are amazing and do their upmost best to ensure you enjoy the experience. I will definitely be back soon. Well done 👏

Couldn't even book into the restaurant

Couldn't even book into the restaurant. Passed from person to person on a call eventually speaking to Giovani who was very rude and it was clear didn't have the will to take the booking. Gave up in the end.
Same situation several months ago when I tried to book my wedding reception there. No response to email or calls.
Avoid at all costs. Its clear they don't need or want the business

Shambles.

Amazing hotel, don’t get me wrong, let me explain. We checked in for a night, the day after our wedding for a stay before our honeymoon. Upon arrival we were told we need to pay £100 deposit which will be fully returned upon leaving, that’s pretty standard nowadays so no problem. A week after our stay, our £100 wasn’t returned, but an extra £12 was taken out of our account for what we used out of our mini bar, then an extra £57.64. £35 of this was for parking. I didn’t know where the rest was from so i rang and was told it was a service charge. It would have been nice to have been told or asked about this. Still no sign of our £100. I also asked about this, reception told me it had been refunded to us upon leaving and to contact my bank. The bank knew nothing about this. Another week later and still no money. I ring again, i was told they aren’t sure what was going on and it should be back in our bank soon. Nearly three weeks later and still no sign. I rang reception again and was given a code, by a very rude young man to give to my bank, after this he put the telephone down on me with no apology, thank you, have a good day, nothing, and i’ve been nothing but polite about the whole situation. I’ve been in touch with my bank and i’m having to put a dispute in. So all in all, amazing hotel. Amazing staff while there, but once they have your money, and you leave, they don’t care. Shame as it’s put a bit of a dampener on our honeymoon. Shame.

An absolute must!

I don’t even know where to start! The Hotel Gotham is like the gift that keeps on giving, what an amazing place, the decor, the quirkiness, the attention to detail, the rooms, the bed, the quality of the bedding, the restaurant, the food, the bar, the terraces, the views, the staff and everything else is FIRST CLASS! Can’t recommend this place enough. Never mind visiting Manchester and staying at the Hotel Gotham, it should be the reason to visit Manchester! Thank you so much for making us feel so welcome and important, your hotel is such a gem and we will definitely be back.

Unbeatable stay, honestly incredible!

I stayed here in January for my partners birthday. We go to hotels a lot as breaks away just for fun.

As it was my partners birthday I wanted to do somewhere different and a completely different hotel experience.

The hotel stay from start to finish was outstanding. The hotel is a 4+ hour drive from us and we was unsure about where to park, we called up and was advised what to do, very easy and smooth valet parking, the guy was so friendly aswell.

When we arrived to our room (the suite) they had made chocolates reading happy birthday and my partners name, along with a post card for a keepsake
… my partners name was missheard over the phone and showed my ex’s name on the plate and card… as they sound similar, I found it hillarious lol

They checked in on us about an hour in asking how we was and I told them what happened and that we see the funny side of it…and just asked if they could change the card so we can keep it for memories, and they did. They was so apologetic and ending up changing the chocolate too whilst we was out for dinner! Which was so sweet and kind.

They even let me keep my homemade cheesecake birthday cake in their fridge over night aswell.

Checkout was smooth, and the room was spotless and overall fautless. The rooftop bar is a lovely touch, and the staff around the hotel are so polite friendly and non robotic which is nice!

When we got home I realised I left my Alexa at the hotel, due to it being 4+ hours away I didn’t know to get it back, surprisingly they posted it back next day before 1pm at no cost!!!

This hotel has truly raised the bar for my stays, and me and my partner now only stay in boutique hotels as the service and stay is honestly incredible.

We plan on going back as we loved it so much, thank you to all the staff who made this a really wonderful stay from start to finish!
