A app dos CTT é visualmente muito bonita — quase uma peça de design. Pena é que funcione como se estivesse ainda em fase de protótipo.

Abrir a app e navegar entre menus é um exercício de paciência pouco justificável. E quando finalmente se consegue usar, percebe-se que o essencial ficou pelo caminho: histórico pouco útil e ausência dos códigos de levantamento para Locky.

No fundo, reflete bem um problema mais geral: muito foco na aparência, pouco no conteúdo.

É como tentar comer um gelado sem o cone.

The CTT app looks great — almost like a design showcase. Unfortunately, it still behaves like a prototype.

Opening the app and navigating through it is unnecessarily slow and frustrating. And once you finally get there, you realize the essentials are missing: the parcel history is poorly structured and, more importantly, there is no clear display of pickup codes for Locky — which makes the app practically useless for its core purpose.

To make matters worse, there is no option to use the app in English, which creates an unnecessary barrier for non-Portuguese users.

Overall, it reflects a broader issue: a strong focus on appearance, with very little attention to functionality.

It’s like trying to eat an ice cream without the cone.

Review Title

Review Title: Absolute Incompetence – Portal is Broken & Customs Process is a Joke
Rating: ⭐ (1/5)

If I could give zero stars, I would. CTT’s customs portal is a total failure. I received a notification that my shipment (LA137517609GB) is being returned to the origin with "no possibility" to continue, simply because their own website is full of bugs.

The issues are endless:

No Edit Option: Once you start the process, the portal locks you out. If a link breaks or a page fails to load, you cannot restart or edit information.

Redundant Demands: They demand price and insurance info that was already provided by the sender.

False Information: Their staff wrongly claimed I could use the Finanças portal, which is simply not the case—it must be done through CTT.

Brainless Logic: They are returning my package before the customs deadline has even expired, just because their own software is too incompetent to handle a form correction.

It is no wonder this service has a 1.2-star rating. Even a 2-star rating would be an overstatement for this level of brainless, moronic "service." Do not use CTT for incoming international packages if you actually want to receive them.

They have lost my package and will not answer

I have a VERY OBVIOUS adress with no possibility of being mistaken. The residence front desk collects the cargo all the time. My package appears delivered but no one has seen it. It is not in the reception, anywhere. And NO ONE EVER RESPONDS TO MY CALLS IN CUSTOMER SERVİCE. My purchase company will not refund me because it reveals as "delivered". It is not. It is lost.

if you want to get your parcel don’t order with ctt

I am highly dissatisfied with ctt my parcel couldn’t be delivered because guess what some people have to work and aren’t home waiting for the delivery driver all day and i went to a ctt location twice they told me it wouldn’t be sent back and that i could get it from a store if it can’t be delivered to my home and now it’s on the way back to the sender thank you for nothing i would give 0 stars if it was possible waited for a month for this package

I finally have to accept that my…

I finally have to accept that my package has been stolen. I had hoped that it would turn up eventually but after 4 months I have to accept the worst. It was an autopilot for a boat worth €600, repaired in Portugal and posted to an address in Tenerife at a cost of €70. The paperwork from the sender shows that it arrived somewhere in Tenerife, I have been to their office in Tenerife but nobody can tell me more than that. There is no tracking number. What a terrible system.

CTT’s website is frequently dysfunctional

CTT’s website is frequently dysfunctional and creates unnecessary problems for customers.

The “Create a Shipment” page often does not work, especially on Sundays, showing “500 ERROR” messages or failing in other ways. This makes it impossible to complete shipments online.

At CTT post offices, customers are required to use the website for certain types of shipments, particularly those with insurance. However, when the website fails (which happens often), the only alternative offered is to pay an additional fee of around €3 to a CTT employee to process the shipment manually. This feels unfair, as customers are being charged extra for technical failures that are not their fault.

Even worse, when attempting to ship a small letter online, the system sometimes automatically selects an “Express” shipment costing around €73 without clearly presenting standard or cheaper options. This is not properly disclosed at the beginning of the process, leaving customers misled into paying an excessive amount for a service they did not intend to choose.

This website design feels deceptive and exploitative. It should be transparent, functional, and provide clear choices to consumers. In its current state, it appears to encourage overcharging and disadvantages customers who simply want to send a basic shipment.

Overall, this is unacceptable service for a national postal provider and reflects very poorly on CTT’s commitment to fair and reliable customer service.

Just the worst...

I sent a small package from the UK to Portugal it was a small parcel with a stone sample but for a project. I paid £50. It was a small bit of stone with a value of about £2.00. The royal mail here in the UK delivered it to the Portuguese customs office within 48 hours. Its been 3 weeks now and the staff at the CTT office have had letters from us, calls and numerous bits of paperwork, proving everything they need and they are still not releasing it. The service is beyond poor. There is a reason this business has a 1 star approval rating and its very well deserved.

Super slow and arrogant employees

I went to the CTT shop in Telheiras and the way I was treated was unbelievably disrespectful. The employee has no manners and no professionalism. You can tell there is poor management in this shop because the waiting before you are helped is outrageous, they take very long time to help each customer and then they take also a long time to call another customer after the last one is gone. Its unbelievable and you have to experience it to understand. Very inefficient unprofessional and arrogant employee. Avoid this shop if you can.

CTT closes for lunch

CTT closes for lunch, when working people have a small opportunity to go to the post office. They also close on weekends. Saturday would be a great day for working people to go to the post office, but no such luck. How they get away with that tells me they get no government pressure. Clearly, customer service is not a priority. Reviews obviously don’t make any difference.

An exceptional service delivered consistently for many years. CTT-Expresso - Once I see it’s this company delivering from any supplier I know it will arrive on time (or earlier) and always with a smile. A thoroughly professional rapid service and courteous !!

Liars

I've been waiting all day for my package, which I paid extra to have delivered today.

Someone called me 6.30 pm to say that they were unable to deliver it.
Then I received an email saying the package was not delivered because I had requested another delivery date.

If you make mistakes, take responsibility rather than blame others.

Shame on you.

Mediocre service.

Mediocre service.
The tracking hasn't updated in a week. The courier doesn't bother to go to the address, nor does he call the mobile number associated with the order. I went to a CTT (Portuguese Postal Service) point asking them to change the address and pick up the item at the store itself. They told me that the address change cannot be done at the counter, but only through the customer support line. After numerous calls, and requesting more and more personal information, they claim that the change takes about 24 hours to take effect, and they are not sure if the request reaches the Central Office. Not before hanging up, they push the purchase of new CTT products.
Everything remains the same and I fall on deaf ears.
It's just another case to add to others, it remains to be seen when the company or the couriers will take responsibility for the damage caused.

They said "Infelizmente ctt_expresso teve um problema ao tentar realizar a entrega. Vai voltar a tentar."
But they never came in the first place and never tried to redeliver.

DO NOT USE CTT

I despise this mail service with so much hatred. I spent about 150GBP on some clothing items that were already going to take two months to arrive to me in the UK. Once those items arrived I asked a relative to send it to me when I was in Portugal, she sent it through royal mail in the uk and it said it was gonna take less than a week to get to the country and then when it got to the country, they asked me for a bunch of paper work which I found confusing but since it came from outside the EEA I wasn't trippin. So I gave them the paperwork and it took a few days for them to proceess that, but then they told me I gotta pay 67EUR just to get my stuff shipped and delivered to me. I was mad for a bit but then I just accepted it because there was nothing I could do and then I chose the payment method and they pade me pay another 26EUR making it 85EUR in total for no darn reason. So I just paid it and now it has been a week and a few days since that whole process and I still have no updates from them. I tried to call them but they told me that they do not have an estimate delivery time for any items that go through custom clearing which is a shame. And then I decided to do some research and I came across a reddit thread that told me that everyone has a terrible experience with ctt and some times that come from the outside of EEA can take up to MONTHS just to get delivered which is extremely infuriating. With that said avoid this company as much as possible.

What a joke this place is

What a joke this place is. Cannot pay online for 6 packets of salt and vinegar crisps sent from england. Went to shop to see if they can help. 50% of the time she said its not CTT fault, even though i showed her its the app from CTT, she said its customs problem. No irs not its your app not letting me pay. Finally she suggested i go to a shop in the city as they might be better wirh dealing with Internet things. Wtaf

I sent two packages from united States.

I sent two packages from united States.
In sept 2025. Reference-CH240419900US
It reached customs after 10days i sent.
They took the vat from rhe receiver. It is been more than 2month. No word on it.
Receiver filed the complaint. No response so far. Called they say computer glitch. But looks like some one has taken the packet.
