Poor communications and poor treatment of the patient; focused on adding treatments to patients that don't need them.
I had to chase them to get images of scans done and the secretaries of the doctors never called back, while the moment they have you on the phone they only want to get you in the door for an expensive treatment.
extremely disappointed; it was a one-off, and never again

Circle Reading, Day surgery, shoulder operation, via private healthcare.
This is a review of the hospital and no reflection of the consultant/surgeon.
I was shown to a Bay, with just a uncomfortable chair to sit and wait, not a private room. This was very different from previous experience with alternative healthcare provider!!
Was asked why i had not put pillow case on when going down for operation.
Following operation returned to bay, observations done and put on oxygen, then drink and sandwich arrived and call button hung back on wall, did not see nurse for over 2 hrs, so struggled and got self dressed too go to toilet and plan escape!!
I was left on operating bed which was very uncomfortable.
I did not feel cared for, Reception was rude to my son when he came in to collect me.
Could not wait to leave and would never use hospital again.

Six weeks to get an apt for an MRI its the same length of time via the NHS. Post MRI told consultant will call, 2 weeks later nothing. Phoned and was past around 7 different people in a space of 5 minutes, first said i should have been told to make an apt before i left after the MRI, 2nd person said i quote "If he said he'd call he'd call!" unbelievably rude, then sent to MRI dept who sent me back to rude girl who sent me back to Ross Hall who sent me back to original girl etc etc etc eventually got hold of right person who said "he doesnt do telephone consultations" i pointed out he said he would so eventually got an apt for the next day. Honestly the rudeness & the time to get things done is unbelievable for a private practice. On the plus the consultant was delightful and very friendly but do something about your support staff - ive never come across such a grumpy lot! Esp the girl on reception when i went in about my knee apt on first visit she almost made me feel guilty being there!

Recently attended BMI Braehead with my disabled father for an initial private urology consultation. After waiting 20mins I was informed that Mr Nalagatla was not available for our appointment as he had gone to the wrong destination and was not prepared to amend his error as he did not know the way to Braehead. At best he offered to "squeeze us in" at his clinic the following week. Really!!?? I am absolutely appalled at the treatment we received from BMI who boast that caring is their passion...I think not. This was devasting for my elderly disabled father both psychologically and physically as we had made a significant journey ourselves to get to the appointment. He felt that he was being disregarded due to being disabled. Appalling. No apology was made from Mr Nalagatla and when I telephoned BMI the following day to complain I was spoken to very rudely by female staff member who advised me that I would receive a phone call from management about my complaint. Nothing. We will never use BMI again, bearing in mind this is private healthcare where one expects a high standard of care. My father and I both feel extremely let down.

I have never seen such unethical people, they have the audacity to inform you that you will pay in full if you do not respect Robert Hicks time and attend your appointment on time, but they do not have a shred of decency to compensate for your time and costs when they keep you waiting for over 20 minutes. Doctors like Hicks are better suited as plumbers.

I recently had some major surgery on my ankle. After years of issues with it affecting daily life I decided to get it seen to. From seeing the radiology team to meeting my surgeon the process took 2 weeks and my surgery was scheduled within 4 weeks. Professor McKay who operated on my ankle and his team gave me all the advice I needed. The operation went well With pain medication ensuring I was in no distress at all. I met with the physio the same day and was out of bed walking around. It was a smooth patient experience for me and I have no hesitation to recommend this hospital to have your procedure done. All the staff were fantastic, very polite and professional during this Covid time. I felt safe and protected

I attended Ridgeway as an outpatient on Boxing Day following knee replacement surgery. I know now that I had clear signs of a blood clot but I was sent home and not contacted again for 3 days. When I went back in on 29th I was immediately diagnosed with a suspected blood clot and sent to GWH where they confirmed I had a DVT.

Undertook a BMI Select health assessment for my parents recently. Initially, I had challenges booking the appointment as I was being told I could not act as chaperone for my parents. After demanding my presence was required and basically ensuring i was present during the assessment, i was left feeling highly shortchanged after the assessment. Blood tests, weight, height, ECG and blood pressure test were done and the only question asked by the consultant was "do you have any concerns?". When certain health concerns were raised, we were referred for further consultation with a comment on the additional cost for each "specialist" consultation. What exactly is the value of a £366 health assessment if i only tell the doctor what i am concerned about? Surely there should be a detailed checklist that reviews the patient from head to toe and from the responses, the doctor will be able to provide suitable guidance and where necessary further referral. Additionally, to my utter surprise, we were told to return for a smear test as the colleague who does this was not on duty that day - our appointment had been booked at least a month in advance and it was a 2 hour round trip. Surely, a visit to the GP would have been more valuable than the money and time spent on this.

I was referred to BMI Ridgeway Hospital Swindon by NHS for a hernia operation. Everything went really well: the pre-op assessment, the operation and post op care. The team there looked after me very well: the consultant was very good and the nurses were lovely. I was really pleased with the whole process.

I have an anal fistula was seen by the consultant Mr Gatson At the chiltern hospital Who advised 3 to 4 operations so I went ahead and pre paid for the operation on the advice of my GP a week later I was seen by a doctor Biswas Anesthest For a pre-assessment charge me £200 even though I had prepaid insted I paid him which I did I got a date of the operation to be done in three weeks time the day before the operation a nurse rang me up and cancelled it stating I was too sick to be operated there as it did not have an intensive care I took the consultant Mr Gatzen Three days to ring Mia and explain how a nurse overruled a doctor So after an initial payment of £450 to Mr Gatzen £200 to Dr biswas it Took me 12 days to get my refund back and deducted £91 which already had paid Mr Gatzen But the finance insisted on deducting that amount I feel the whole issue has been money money money I worked in the NHS as a child nurse was a British Olympic surgeon for 23 years I left the NHS 24 years ago and went into property development made a fortune there and I am very proud of what I did as a landlord I have never stolen or punched anyone for money but I felt this consultant and the doctors didn’t change from my hospital days as soon as a private patient came the door shut shut and the NHS people had to wait same old story just greedy doctors nothing has changed and as far as the children when I had insurance they tried to do a quad bypass on me not realising I know perfectly well how to read x-rays and what they are doing when I said wait please my heart is blocked they’re just dead I waited till 10 o’clock at night to be discharged no doctor ever showed up at this time I was paying it out of my own pocket because I was through with the insurance company all the scams these people did I will get onto my credit card company to get a refund

Visited the clinic at the beginning of November 2021. Colorectal appointment lasted very short. I did not feel I was seeing properly. I was promised by phone and email the bill was £160, all included. My surprise later they sent a bill for £200. I phoned different numbers with no luck. I phoned and sent emails to Bill Medical dealing with the financial side of the specialist. They did not reply. After few days of trying eventually somebody listened to me and amended the bill. I lost lots of time and energy trying to sort it out. By then, I had lost all my trust in this clinic.

I have received treatment for cancer via BMI Alexandra during the last 18 months and they have been simply superb. From initial consultation and surgery through to post treatment check ups, they have been wonderful. A special mention to the team on The Richmond Ward where I received my chemotherapy, Carla and her team are literally 'Earth Angels' and could not have done anymore to help me through a very challenging 6 months of chemo. The wrap around care and out of hours help was amazing and they were with me every step of the way.

Terrible service with BMI Blackheath.
I’ve been having some significant issues with potential outlook to cancer / myeloma.
Got into BMI through BUPA but this consultant was not only bored of me, gave me some blood tests to do as well as MRI.
Suddenly I had bill just over £3,500 without any explanation and no results whatsoever.
Bill obviously exceeded my private healthcare and since August I’ve been arguing back and force that I will happily pay my portion of debt if BMI would provide me with results.
Guess what? 4 months later they’re threatening with debt collector but is there any debt at all?
What tests have they done?
I certainly haven’t received anything except threatening emails which have had further impact on my feeble health and I had to seek psychological advice. Should the cost of psychologist be offset against their sporadic fictitious debt? They’d be suddenly my debtors themselves.
So they could well prevent me from using their services in the future but do I care? No, I would never ever enter these charlatans…

I attended the BMI hospital in London today for an operation. I would like to say from the start the nurse who showed me to my room was very welcoming and he definitely eased any anxiety I had about my operation. The room was nicely sanitised, bed made up and made for comfort. Thank you to Marvin G, the Surgeons Nicholas Marshal and Steve and the anaesthesiologist they were great and very explanatory about my procedure, aftercare etc. Staff overall provided an excellent service and professionalism. After surgery I was constantly checked up in by nurses and the surgeon so I am grateful.

Update 13 Dec; having contacted the imaging dept directly myself I now have the CT scan appointment.
Still poor admin though, I am required to have a covid test 3 days before the procedure I.e. 12th Dec but the letter advising of the test booking arrived the day after it was due. Only my enquiry as to any pre-op requirements prompted the ct booking lady to advise that I was booked in for the test. Information is dragged out of the hospital, it is rarely offered timely and willingly
So far so bad.
Called to check lead time on CT scans, told available the next week. After seeing Consultant we have now waited a week, in pain, and not even been given a date, never mind having the scan.
For the 2nd procedure we were booked in but no one advised us then got a call to go for pre-op assessment at 90 minutes notice. After shuffling my day around to do this I got a call just before we left for the appointment telling that the procedure had been delayed a week so did not need to attend after all.
We now have an NHS scan scheduled.
So private healthcare atBMI Alexandra seems to be far more expensive than nhs but no better or quicker.
Even the consultant's secretary has stopped returning my calls.

Not yet had my procedure but am extremely riled by the woman chasing payment for it - makes me feel more like a source of money than a patient!! I’d barely had the pre op booked 5 minutes and she was straight in at me for payment in full… I feel that far more effort and energy has been put into chasing payment than anything else thus far.
She rang me again today immediately after my pre op, I had barely got in the car following the appointment and again had no time to process what was a ahead of me (as was the case when my pre op was booked late, two days before my operation and during my supposed 3 day isolation period) when she said there was a problem with our finance, and that we had to sort it ASAP or the “procedure would be cancelled”. It felt like a threat, one that she had made already when we were doing our best to scrabble to sort out payment after they had taken so long to arrange everything!! Yet when we rang on a panic in the hospital car park the finance company said there was no problem? This woman is far too brisk, insistent and impatient, causing stress both for nothing and at the most inopportune times, and it makes the whole thing feel incredibly dirty and dodgy. I emailed and asked her to confirm that all is good but of course I’ve heard nothing from her so it seems okay to hound us but not to keep us updated so we can stop worrying about the stressful situation she’s caused?!
As if major surgery wasn’t stressful enough without all the last minute rushing, lack of info and this woman calling like a back street loan shark demanding thousands of pounds before anything has even been done, it’s really is horrendous.
As with the previous review there was a huge delay in arranging the pre op, zero communication regarding what to expect and what to do so both of these coupled together just makes you feel like a walking wallet instead of a cared-for patient.
Anxiety for my procedure is running extremely high due to all this so thanks so much for that BMI. I really hope that my aftercare is much better than the care I’ve received before my operation, I’m very fearful for how it’s going to go down.

BMI The Circle Reading is filling me with dread. My surgery in one week. Communication appalling. I have still not had my pre-assement. No information about the hospital procedures or what to expect bring do etc. Eventually reminded them about my pre assessment. Booked me in and I'm not on the system so have been waiting around for hours in an empty reception. Also been referred miles from my home takes an hour to drive. Keep asking for a closer hospital referral, no help no ones responsibility. Referred to booking team then back to consultant, then back to GP. Feel pushed from pillar to post.

I have never seen so much disorganisation in one work place. Honestly. None of the doctors or nurses informed me on what is going on, not even post surgery. I have been told the doctor will come and talk to me about what they found, but he just left without seeing me! Now that I am home, 1st day after surgery, I received a letter with information on what to do PRIOR to surgery.
They forgot to deliver part of my food too.
Just awful.
The surgery went well, I can’t complain about that at all.

Only use BMI Alexandra cheadle if you have insurance, their website states affordable treatment, receive a price and pay interest free over a year . Complicated system , I phoned willing to pay , explained what the issue was and was directed to a consultant who during our four minute appointment confirmed what I already knew couldn’t price anything and didn’t do the surgery required, £200 please , now paid . Referred to another consultant who did the surgery who wanted £200 to give me a price and after complaining I was provided with a unaffordable figure which was only a guide . So I would be £400 down and don’t know correct figure and after deciding to back to NHS my daughter who had treatment there recently with insurance had received an email meant for me quoting £400 consultation fees and £696 for surgery and final consultation so why when I received my figure it was approximately £2500 . Still waiting for the promised call to resolve this but I have had a few calls demanding payment for the first consultation and as I was informed, you came you were seen you pay , it was then I realised the money was more important than the client, as I said only go if you have insurance
