It was good to be able to talk to a human being on
the 'phone.
They were very thorough in taking me through my application.
But a second named driver (for emergencies etc.) should not send up the cost because their voluntary activity might involve them driving there - especially when their driving my car is largely for emergency purposes and not connected with their own voluntary activities.

Hidden charges
After allowing me to pay for a policy,I was suddenly charged an extra £200. If there was a query,this should have been followed up before taking payment.

When we completed a check of the Claims and Underwriting Exchange (CUE) database, we identified a discrepancy between the claims information recorded and the details provided during the quote process. As a result, the policy premium had to be recalculated, which led to the additional charge.

Extremely disappointing experience – policy cancelled with no warning
I am extremely disappointed with the way Autonet have dealt with my car insurance.
After a number of emails and providing Autonet with everything they asked for, I received no telephone call, no warning and no opportunity to resolve the matter. Instead, I was simply sent an email telling me that my car insurance had been cancelled.
The policy started on 19 August 2026 and was cancelled just one day later. I am now left having to arrange alternative insurance at very short notice, despite having done everything that was requested of me.
To make matters worse, Autonet have deducted a £55 cancellation charge from the refund. Their own letter confirms that the insurer provided a refund of £400.01, but Autonet have taken £55, leaving me with £345.01.
What I find particularly unacceptable is the complete lack of communication. If there was a problem with the information I had provided, why not simply pick up the phone and speak to me? Instead, I have been left to sort out new insurance myself, at additional cost and considerable inconvenience.
I have spent time responding to their requests and providing exactly what they asked for, only to have the policy cancelled without any proper warning.
Think very carefully before using Autonet. In my experience, when things went wrong, the communication and customer service were extremely poor, and I have been left out of pocket as a result.
A very frustrating and disappointing experience.
