If I could give them 0 starts I would.
They are scammers. Promised hundreds of students vouchers upon booking and did not deliver. Constantly getting fed the same spiel that the vouchers will be with us shortly. A whole year after they were promised. Incredibly disappointing and would tell everyone I know to stay away from them. Horrible customer service, phone line never goes through, WhatsApp number never replied and emails never get a response. Horrible service all round. Stay away!

False advertising

I would absolutely urge any student to avoid this company. The only reason I decided to use Unilodgers was because of the £100 Amazon voucher that was promised as a result of booking with them. Not only was the process to book extremely, unnecessarily difficult, here I am a year later after never receiving the voucher. After following their instructions to receive it perfectly and many emails chasing it up I kept being pushed away and ignored as have all other students who are having the same issue. It is disgusting the lack of moral integrity the company has as it seems to be based on a scheme of deceiving and lying too students. The property that I stayed in have contacted Unilodgers over the matter and have been ignored - disgraceful. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Absolute scammers. Waste of time and money and energy. I was promised Amazon vouchers when booking and 9 months later after MOVING OUT of the accommodation, I was still given no vouchers. Just told to keep waiting and then ignored. Surprise surprise. I complained about my accommodation, the noise, the cleanliness, was anything done? No. Was I ignored? Yes. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I had a terrible time at my accommodation and this company did nothing. The noise level was horrendous because of cladding work that went on from Christmas time until I moved out. The outside area was constantly closed off because of more building work. Staff were unhelpful. I complained I think 4 times and was ignored. Seriously do not use this company. AWFUL.

False advertisers and scammers

Agree with previous posts Unilodgers are scammers and falsely advertising. My daughter is due £100 amazon vouchers from signing up in Sept 2021. Emails now being ignored. I'm looking to see where I can take this complaint higher.

EDIT: A year later, 2 years from when these were due and no sign of these vouchers. Do not believe what this company tells you.

Fast response times

I had trouble with a tenancy agreement and the team went out of their way to help me. They told me not to worry, had speedy response times and liaised with the housing team and cc’d me into their emails. The issue was resolved and it was some of the best customer service I have ever been given!

Process was a hassle - please invest in some decent tech

I booked student accommodation with unilodgers because their website promised a hassle-free experience. All they do is refer you to the provider directly and then send daily (or more!) WhatsApp messages hassling you to complete the booking. Go more than two days without actioning (maybe you have a job / life etc.) and they start calling. The process involves signing a legal document which shouldn't be hurried. After I completed all the steps they continued messaging asking for screenshots to prove that I had completed all the steps. They claim is to "ensure a smooth check-in" but it's really to prove to the property that they were the ones who referred you. This could easily be achieved with referral links. You should invest in a simple solution that would actually make the process seamless and cut down on the admin of sending your nagging texts out, follow-up calls, and passing screenshots around. As well as being a needless nuisance and potential security risk, asking for a screenshot makes your organisation seem extremely unprofessional. Given the number of reviews on here that say they never got their promised voucher my hopes aren't high. Next time I'll just book direct.

AVOID-SCAM

Scammers..promised Amazon vouchers and 9 months have passed and I already moved out and still have not received them. Emailed them 50 times (literally), and all they can say is that this has been forwarded to senior management). Book with other websites as they really do give you Amazon voucher and do not scam you. A disgrace of a company.

Absolute robbers

Absolute robbers, promise hundreds in vouchers that they never send, tell you you have to live there for 3 months to be eligible for the vouchers yet there’s also a 3 month limit after moving in until you can claim? So you’re waiting 3 months for the email / vouchers that never come, enquire, and find out the terms are rigged so you’re too late anyway? And the absolute scammers on the WhatsApp number tell you each time they’re going to “check” yet never get back to you. They’ve been “checking” for months. Whoever is staffing the WhatsApp number needs to be fired as they are absolutely scamming the company for money, they don’t do a single bit of work at all or reply to a single message. Can’t even comment & say the customer service is bad because there isn’t any altogether

Trustpilot really needs to start…

Trustpilot really needs to start considering the zero star rating. Unilodgers is honestly the worst of the worst agencies for student accommodation. Not only the promotions stated are fake, but the CS system also lacks of construct and maintenance. I was promised for a 200 gbp voucher when I first booked my studio room with them and guess what, I’m actually about to move out in a month and I still haven’t received it yet. The accommodation I booked was a new building so there were many maintenance issues but whenever you try to reach out Unilodgers for assistance, they’d reply and just say ‘please contact your accommodation CS for assistance’. Extremely irresponsible and if you intend to book through them, please dun fall into their traps as you may end up just paying more.

Evil disgusting thieves

Signed up with the promise of £500 cashback. Suprise suprise still chasing after 6 months. Lies lies lies all the time, they don't answer the phone and live chat does not exist. Been talking on Whatsapp and same run around. Worst company I have ever dealt with and are quite happy to scam vulnerable young people absolutely disgusting.
I have now decided to send emails detailing this to large newspapers and television stations as this is deplorable, tantamount to theft.
You should NEVER NEVER book with these (and I use the word loosely) people

Brilliant service from Bhavya!

CHEATERS

The website is a scam. These guys promise you to give vouchers if you book through them but they never give them. PLEASE DON'T BOOK THROUGH THEM. My experience has been pathetic. If you wish to save your money please book through someone else.

AN OUTRIGHT SCAM - DO NOT USE

Customer service is abysmal. The point of contact is pretty much limited to whatsapp as the phone number always cuts off before you even connect to someone.

They have been stringing me along with the "vouchers are coming very soon" all year. In March they promised I would get them in 4 weeks, yet here I am in June, still no vouchers. They will lie and blame covid, but if you have the energy to keep scrolling will see they have not been sending vouchers since before covid. They claim "it's been escalated" to get you off their back and will say anything to keep you at bay for a few more weeks. I've had more honest conversations with call center scammers!

All this and they still have the audacity to promise vouchers on their website. They will give you absolutely zero information, insight or faith anything is being done. You will only get vague, generic responses so do not waste your time. A completely morally bankrupt company who knows it can get away with scamming thousands of students who do not have the resources to keep following it up or perusing legal action. You can be certain the CEO isn't giving you a second thought on his yacht.

I urge everyone to look at employee reviews of the company on Glassdoor. Lots of claims of employees not being paid either, writing fake positive reviews here, and incentives never given.

Here are some of their replies to reviews bellow:
"This isn't how we usually work." - This is how they usually work. They replied this to a person who has been waiting 2 YEARS for their vouchers. Yeah its normal at this point.

"delivery of vouchers is our top priority currently" - Also false as they still promise vouchers on their website and make it very difficult to speak to anyone with their phone line always down. Funny they can take money just fine but can't give you what they owe you.

"We understand your frustration and take complete accountability for the delay" - Who exactly has been held accountable? Statement from the CEO? Are they going to compensate people with more vouchers they'll never send? 100% no chance of that happening.

"our team is working on it" - WORKING ON WHAT? All you have to do is send the vouchers promised, you're not developing a cure for cancer... Just more vague generic nonsense.

"this has been raised with the team" - I guess the team went out for a very long lunch and forgot about it huh...

‼️AVOID this dreadful company‼️

‼️I’ve never ever left negative feedback for any company but this is an absolutely dreadful company!! 50+ phone calls to the London phone number just get cut off every time. They email frequently to ask you to book with them but never respond to MY emails??? their customer service is appalling. The incentive of vouchers to book with them still hasn’t happened 7 months later…….
‼️AVOID AT ALL COSTS if you want a stress free student/parent Accomodation experience!!
* edited on 14th June, still no correspondence despite many many emails to unilodgers and promises of them looking into it, utterly disgusting customer service in relation to promised vouchers.

Worst company ever

Worst company ever. No one should ever use their services. Booked their services last year and was promised vocuhers. It has been more than 8 months but i haven’t received them. They just keep hanging me in between. Dont ever use this fraud company

I really wish I could say good things

I really wish I could say good things. After booking, they promptly called me (sometimes in the middle of the night) to get the deposit and contract sorted. I thought this showed their competence and great customer service, but they surely were just after their money. The promised vouchers have never been delivered, I will move out in a month and still have not received anything. "We have escalated your request" "Your vouchers are acting up". I could have booked directly with my accommodation, but purposely chose Unilodgers for all of the promised "benefits". I am extremely fed up and frustrated with the situation. Do not book with them. If in London, don't bother trying to call them. They keep you in line for 10 minutes and hang up without even saying anything. It is a disrespect to those of us who spend so much money to stay at an accommodation, hoping that the support team will assist us.

super patient, friendly, respond fast

Unilodgers (Whatsapp) has been super friendly and patient and reply super fast! They helped me to check many apartments, and finally I got a lucky one, which was hidden in other platforms!

My advice is that it should be more accurate when showing availabilities especially in peak seasons like May. For example, a studio is shown on the page but when checking it's occupied.

Anyway I am very grateful about people of Unilodgers. I have been bothering them a lot, lol, but they have always been patient.
