I recently bought the overnight oil and it is amazing!! It has worked wonders for my skin, smoothing it and clearing up my stubborn blemishes. It smells incredible too. Would definitely recommend

BEWARE very questionable returns policy. My pillowcase hadn’t even left the box. The lid had been lifted only. It was an unwanted gift but they wouldn’t accept a return because the loose plain white tissue paper the box was wrapped in had been removed!

So if you buy this and actually want to look at it you can’t return it. It doesn’t say this on the tissue paper the only way you would know is if you jumped online to read the terms and conditions before opening your gift…… obviously completely unreasonable!

I purchased an amazing wool/silk T-shirt that is light, not itchy, and absorbs perspiration without showing wet areas on the garment. This item doesn't feel cool or warm because it adjusts to your body's temperature. I also bought a pair of linen pillowcases. If you sweat, again, these pillowcases will not become wet and will make you feel cool. The natural fibers are way better than anything else!!! A must have.

This company is a joy to deal with. Nothing is a problem for them and you can really feel the personal touch.
The long sleeved silk and merino top that I have just bought is so soft and warm!
We have sub zero temperatures and snow at the moment, but I have been so cosy all day!

The silk tops I bought are just right and just what I needed and wanted for wearing under clothing for an extra layer. They are warm but very light. The xlarge size fits really well and isn't too tight and clingy. I'm very pleased with the product. I bought 2 long sleeved and 2 with short sleeves. Thank you 'This is silk' great work!

I have had a few products from this company over the last couple of years and always been impressed with the quality of the products. I am currently undergoing chemotherapy and decided to treat myself to the silk and merino beanie. I am so glad that I did – it arrived very quickly and was beautifully wrapped as always (with a personal note too!).

It is just so comfortable to wear. The silk helps both putting on and taking the beanie off as it doesn’t pull on my head/short cut hair unlike so many other hats I have been wearing. I just wish there were some more colours to choose from. This would be a brilliant gift for anybody but particularly if they are suffering from a sore scalp due to alopecia/chemotherapy.

I've purchased quite a few items including the linen bedding, always beautiful quality and speedy delivery. The courier company lost my last parcel but the superb customer service meant I received a replacement without any fuss really quickly. Highly recommended This Is Silk.

Used my pillow-case for the first time last night. It was cool, very comfortable and my skin was less dry this morning. Really lovely. Also bought the beany hat which is exactly as described. Lovely and soft but not too hot. It is also light weight and looks good, with no scrimping on the fabrics. Would definitely recommend these products, in fact I've already started. Just absolutely gorgeous!l

I purchased a silk pillowcase, and must admit I’ve had very little bed head since using it, my hair is quite fine and every morning would wake up with the most horrendous knotty bed head, I was sceptical about whether silk would make a difference and I must truly admit these silk pillowcase do work, I have never tried any silk before and would definitely recommend this company for silk pillowcases.

So, this is a long one, but bear with me! In November 2021 I purchased two silk tops in the sale. They arrived and my wife tried them on to determine which one fit. Under UK distance selling laws you are entitled to return items that aren’t fit for purpose provided you inform the supplier within 14 days (this includes for fit). This is irrespective of whether an item is “in a final sale”. Having never had an issue with any returns in 20+ years of internet shopping I asked This is Silk to provide a returns label. Evie advised this wasn’t possible due to the tops “being in the sale”. I pointed out that this was irrelevant under distance selling laws and on 6 December Evie apologised that she was busy with Christmas orders and could we pick up at a later date. No problem. I received a brief update on 21 Dec advising she would get back to me in the new year. Fast forward to 10 Feb and I was told (1) “The tops were very popular but we could not find a way to reconcile the fact that postage to a customer and from a customer (returns) ended up costing as much as the product itself.” (2) “What we did with the Silk Merino clothing was put it into clearance and informed people that no returns would be accepted and for this reason we've brought down the price” (interestingly T&Cs not in line with consumer rights) (3) “In respect of the legal position you are correct that sales items are also subject to the general right to return however there is an exception for clearance and final sale items where those products will deteriorate or expire”. It’s worth noting this isn’t accurate, there’s no exception for sale items in the relevant legislation. The relevant section is specifically referring to goods liable to deteriorate or expire (basically food or fresh flowers), it doesn’t caveat it with anything to do with sales. I then had no further comms from This is Silk.

So, in short, due to it being too expensive to deal with returns, This is Silk put the items in to a sale and tried to impose T&Cs that are at odds with consumer rights. Unless of course they genuinely believe that trying a top on once means it has “perished” quickly. If that is case do you really want to buy clothing of quality that means one wear and it’s “perished”?

I spoke with Citizens Advice who confirmed that with clothing, consumers have the right to try on clothes at home in the same way that you would in a shop. They helpfully raised a complaint to Trading Standards for me - their suggestion, not mine and advised me to undertake a credit card chargeback.

I did that and (nearly 7 months on) I heard from my credit card that my claim had been successful. It was interesting to see that as part of this process This is Silk referred to me as “lying” in an attempt to circumvent their T&Cs. Defamatory remarks that were quickly disproved to the credit card company - recognised by the fact I have had the claim settled in my favour.

This has been the worst experience I have ever had with an internet shop. All I ever wanted was for This is Silk to recognise my consumer rights and act accordingly. Instead they acted arrogantly in their own self interest, calling me a liar in the process.

My advice: the stuff they sell is ok, it’s certainly not as bad as Evie makes out and the top we kept hasn’t “perished” but I’ve had better quality silk products at cheaper rates from other suppliers and unless you’re 100% certain that you want the clothing or are prepared for a battle, there are much better options out there. After all why, as consumers, should we subsidise a business model that doesn’t work due to the cost of returns?

Side note: a lot of other negative reviews talk about items which have been excluded due to hygiene reasons in the T&Cs. I actually understand that term and my points here are specifically only to do with the clothing.

Side note 2: the The Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 is worth reading. Here section 28c is under discussion. I’ve asked This is Silk to update their T&Cs, but as of today they are still selling tops with a claim they can’t be returned as they are in “a final sale”. They did advise though that they we’re moving away from selling clothes.

Disappointed to see This is Silk’s reply is little more than an attempt at victim blaming and misses the point of my complaint.
I hadn’t seen the T&Cs on their website saying the tops were nonrefundable and only found out after delivery. I was within my legal rights to try them on and ask for a refund even if I had seen it. This is why there are consumer rights: to protect consumers from unscrupulous trading practices. The important thing to remember about consumer rights is a vendor can’t override them with their own T&Cs, and you know why? Because they’re written in to law. Shame you can’t always trust vendors to play fair

I adore this facial oil, especially the texture (perhaps it’s the silk peptides). It feels glorious when I apply it to my face. Perhaps the most surprising attribute of this oil is the fact that it is wholly absorbed by my skin. ( I don’t have dry skin.) My face feels so soft afterwards. It definitely leaves you feeling pampered.
I am not new to facial oils. I have been purchasing different high-end, “clean” oils for the past 15 years; many way more expensive than this one. However, my search is over. This product is head and shoulders above the rest. It makes me feel pretty and I love the smell.
I wear it as a day-time moisturiser. It does not leave an oily residue that bleeds onto my glasses as other oils have done. This is a huge deal for me as I spend most of my day looking at spreadsheets.

What an all round delightful shopping experience. Upon receipt, I was instantly taken aback by your overall attention to every detail. Starting with the lovely designed presentation box which had been neatly wrapped in layers of tissue paper, to your personal hand written message. Enclosed within was the 'White Stars' Silk Pillowcase which I'd ordered the previous day and I can honestly say, it both felt and looked quite literally, absolutely heavenly. The quality is superb and I love it. Thank you. I would highly recommend your company to any one, any time.

The bedding is really great, breathable and looks wonderful with the crumpled linen look. As a menopausal woman suffering night sweats this bedding is a real help.

Absolutely beautiful pillowcases, bought as a gift for a friend. She loved them so much that she actually takes them travelling with her rather than do without while away.
She tells me that anti-ageing aside they are extremely sensuous.

I wanted to write to say what a difference your masks have made to me during the pandemic.

They are stylish, comfortable, not too hot, and plain enough to go with anything. I work as a Learning Support Assistant in a secondary school, and my voice can be heard through your masks (but not others).

The biggest praise of all is that I haven’t caught Covid, even though pupils sneeze over me one day and test positive the next!
