The Hay Shed Reviews 

My six rabbits showed a real preference for rye hay this winter after being introduced to it via the local rabbit rescue where I am a Trustee and volunteer. I purchased some from another company but was sadly let down by the delivery service. I looked elsewhere and ordered some rye hay from Hay Shed. The first box arrived, the rabbits loved it, so I ordered two further boxes. The boxes were delivered over two days? The first box contained meadow hay (as identified from the seed heads) not rye hay and the rabbits have shown their agreement and have no interest in eating it. Currently I buy meadow hay for bedding by the bale (not 5kg) for £6.50 a bale, so feel I've been really ripped off. The second box does have have rye hay seed heads but is not the same quality as the hay in the first box I received. Feel sadly let down.

After trying various brands, it became obvious that my rabbits only truly love the Timothy/Rye mix from The Hay Shed. The quality is consistently impressive—lovely, green, and full of the long, strong stems and seed heads that are essential for keeping their teeth healthy.
​The subscription service is incredibly user-friendly. We get 15kg delivered in three large, loose-packed boxes at a frequency that suits us, and it’s very easy to adjust if our needs change. I also highly recommend their foraging mixes; there’s a huge variety, and they arriveI in sturdy, well-sealed paper bags. Our buns are currently obsessed with the dandelion roots and hibiscus flowers. We’re definitely staying with The Hay Shed and highly recommend them to all bunny owners!

Great quality Timothy and Meadow hay packed securely and healthily in cardboard boxes. Very speedy delivery. I tend to buy very limited plain forage mix and would avoid buying anything with added carrot or fruit. Hay should be the main diet for guinea pigs

If I was forced to use one word to describe my experience with this company, it would have to be 'gobsmacked'.
Not a particularly nice word I agree, but at the moment I can't think of a more fitting one.
The order was placed at about 9:00pm on Friday, (yes, in the evening!), and my four boxes arrived at around 3:30pm on SUNDAY. So that is about eighteen hours in total from placing the order to it arriving on my doorstep.
Of course, much credit should also be given to DPD Local, who also kept me well informed regarding the imminent delivery every step of the way.
Moving on to the contents of the boxes, the hay is mainly a lovely lush green, and our twenty rescue buns have been tucking into it within minutes of it arriving. (Pics will no doubt follow).
Well packaged, clearly stickered and stating what was in each box, (Impressive), made it clear which was which, and which box to open first.
I can't fault the company for their attention to detail, customer service or the quality of the product and the clear stickers / packaging.
I'm sure we'll be back.

Our guinea pigs absolutely love this hay - would never buy anything else now, and I've tried a lot of different hay over the years!!

I don't know what witchcraft you use to remove the dust from the hay, but my god it's the first time in years that I can handle my piggies without sneezing!

My rabbits only eat the hay from Hay Shed. I have to keep refilling their hay rack as they eat so fast.

Excellent service and quality product. Fast delivery and free over a certain amount. Subscribed for regular deliveries which works seamlessly. Prices of product is cheaper than most shops and quality and selection is excellent!

Excellent quality hay that has improved the health of my three rabbits. One in particular had recurrent gastro issues, since The Hay Shed's daily intake of Timothy Hay and Oat Hay her digestion has been perfect and she is much more lively. All three rabbits know when I am getting the hay out and run to the shed, then rush over to where it is given to them. They love it. The boxes last for ages and are packed with premium quality hay which smells wonderful. Brilliant stuff.
Update - frustrated with the delivery service. DPD, yet again, failed to make the delivery, claiming I wasn't in to receive it. Having received the notification that they were 15 mins away I was waiting at the front of the house....they never appeared. I just got a new message from them claiming they were unable to deliver as I was not in to receive it. I don't want my hay being shoved from one van to another sitting about in the rain, I want a reliable delivery service that gets the product to me in a decent condition. If doesn't feel like this is happening. I know this isn't The Hay Shed's fault, but I think they should know about what happens once their wonderful product leaves their farm.

First time shopping with the Hay Shed and was really impressed with the quality of the hay, quick delivery and customer service. My buns absolutely adore the hay - it's lovely and fresh and really good value for money. We will definitely be shopping here again.

I have been using The Hay Shed for several months now. My bunnies love it so much so, I have now subscribed monthly to their Super food forage box plus their flower power mix , peas and apple chips. I also have their Timothy hay which the buns love and wait for in anticipation for in the morning.
I've just had Timothy hay with festive sprinkles. The quality is amazing the hay is green and smells divine.

Arrived in time and pigs loved the hay and mixes
