customer service when you have a problem is poor. em

tub was installed two years ago. just found out was installed incorrectly. trying to get it repaired has been pulling teeth. customer service does not initiate contact. I have had to keep calling them over weeks. finally had to contact a regional supervisor. will see if the repair actually gets done.

Re thinking on showers

I have never liked showers but after a fall it was time to reconsider one, and also for my son as he is getting older. After using the wand and chair several times it was a very nice experience, and the best part is the floor which I felt safe walking, standing and now I do enjoy the shower. My son and i both think its great and safe feeling to it.

BE AWARE

I would like to tell people how horrible this product is. I visited a friend and she has a tub from this company. I am a thin woman (112 lbs) and it was terrible getting in abd out, floor space was half of a stall shower.My friend was not happy with it, company wanted to charge a lot to remove it.

Salesperson lowballed us

Salesperson lowballed us. When the day came for install, it was 6,000 more. I didn’t do it. They charged me 1,700 of my 4,000 deposit for shipping the tub here and back. I have now reached out 2X via this number over the last two weeks with NO response. Lousy company.

Wish I could give no stars

Wish I could give no stars. First, IT WAS 22K FOR A BATHTUB. They say it has lifetime warranty, but they don't do proper follow-ups. Draining issues and not enough warm water. IF THE BATHTUB IS WORTH SO MUCH, WHY IS IT A PIECE OF CRAP? I want a refund. Also, the customer service and the bathtub is crap. DO NOT BUY A BATHTUB FROM SAFESTEP.

We are totally unhappy with our walk in…

We are totally unhappy with our walk in tub the size is too small my husband had MS and can barely close the door it's for hard. You have to turn sideways to even close the door. We contacted the salesman and were told we bought it and there was nothing that could be done to exchange it or just return it. If you aren't able to try it a few days before knowing if you will be happy they should at least give you a trial period. We called the very first day it was installed. I would never recommend them to anyone

We have had our Safe Step tub for over…

We have had our Safe Step tub for over a year. We have only had one problem in that time - turning off unexpected. The company was contacted and Service (Cody) called me to set up a time. He arrived promptly as scheduled and diagnosed the problem. The replacement parts were received and Cody installed them fixing the problem. We really enjoy the tub and highly recommend Safe Step walk-in tubs for you.

Insufficient hot water to fill a SAFE-STEP WALK-IN TUB

ALERT … ALERT … ALERT To all homeowners who are considering having a Safe - Step Walk-In Tub/Shower installed in your home. The text that follows outlines the problems we experienced with FILLING the tub with sufficient hot water.

According to Safe-Step, a full tub (by full I expect water above the top jets) will hold around 85 gallons of hot water. After you subtract your body weight for the displaced water (in my case it calculates to 10 gallons of displaced water), the amount of water needed to be at my chin is 75 gallons. Our current water heater is rated at 50 gallons and has a capacity to ‘deliver’ 45 gallons of hot water. Thus; we are SHORT by 30 gallons at best (75 gallons minus 45 gallons).

The conclusion in this scenario being; If you, as the customer, are told by your sales person that your 50 gallon hot water is adequate for your new tub, they are WRONG! YOU HAVE BEEN DECEIVED.

The questions you need to ask yourself might be;
#1). Do I call off the deal before I commit?

#2). Do I commit to spending an additional sum of money to upgrade my water heater? This could amount to at least another $4000. We have received ZERO response from ANYONE at Safe -Step (except for our salesperson who can’t even get his superiors to respond to him). It is left in our hands to get the correct phone numbers to call to actually speak to a person. Still working on this 2 months later.

We certainly hope that others out there do not fall into the same ‘trap’ as we did.

The hot water heater was installed in our NEW condo, 6 years ago. It is a Rheem Hybrid 50 gallon heater. I hardly believe that it is obsolete. Didn't you read the SECOND paragraph in my review. I think I outlined FAIRLY Well. Your (S-S) reply does not address the FACTS as I stated. Are they being refuted as false. I'd like to think 33 years working in Research that I know a little about Science. THE FACTS SPEAK FOR THEMSELF.

My wife's disability prevented safe tub use.

My wife was unable to safely use the tub due to her partial paralysis. This tub would probably be great for someone without her disability. I discussed the issue with the corporate office and we came to an amicable resolution. Because we have an oversized shower, there were only minor penetrations for the electrical and plumbing access which I repaired with very little effort; and, I removed the tub without damage to the tub or our walls. The tub pickup is pending the receipt of our signed release.

Safe Step truly sent their ‘A-Team’ to install our new walk-in tub, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. From the moment Leonardo, the electrician, arrived right on time just before 9 AM, to the final walkthrough with Sam and Henry, the expert installers, we felt completely at ease.

The team took the time to explain every step of the process before beginning, ensuring we knew what to expect. With their combined 14 years of experience, they worked seamlessly, leaving our home in the exact condition they found it—no mess, no stress. Leonardo expertly ran a dedicated electrical line from our basement fuse box to the second-floor bathroom, and you’d never even know they had been there. By 5 PM EST, the job was done, and we were guided through every feature of our new tub.

A huge thank you to everyone at Safe Step—from sales and administration to Leonardo, Sam, and Henry—for their professionalism and attention to detail. Other than my home and my spouse, this tub is the best investment we’ve made for our safety and comfort for years to come!
