With the exception of the screws left in the driveway, everything went smoothly. If you’ve ever paid for a tire ruined by a screw, you’ll understand my concern. I do wish the handheld shower had more water pressure. It’s a bit wimpy. Love getting such a nice bath!
the installation went off without a hitch, and the crew cleaned up completely and left us with a spotty clean house.
The Safestep team arrived right on time. They we’re friendly and very professional. I was impressed with how quickly they began working. They told me way in advance when the water would be turned off and for how long and asked me if there were any any problems that I needed help with right away. I was quite impressed. The tub itself is gorgeous. I love it. I feel like I’m driving a spaceship, of course, but it’s a spaceship that has made my skin feel much better and has relaxed me when I needed it. Thank you so much Safe Step.

This company sold my mother a tub for $15000 years ago. Very overpriced and used high pressure. My mom was an elderly widow and never told me till later. I looked at the whole deal and felt it was bull. Beware of this company. Not worth it. Every time I see the commercials I cringe. It was in 2019. This trustpilot app won't let me set the date correctly.

I had this company install a walk in shower in Oct 2025.... Now, I wanted a certain faucet they said ok we will install it. Ended up the one installed was not the one ordered. To be fair they did let me know that it was different, as the one i wanted was out of stock. But the one they sent me a picture of was different and was not the one that they did install. After the installation of the shower unit, one of the (PLASTIC) showerhead on/off buttons broke. (last Dec) I called in to the company to which i got the "we will be out next week"..... The guy shows up.... clearly had no idea what the hell he was doing. Pulling at the faucet cover thus pealing the caulking away from the wall....now i got a leak where the button is and also the faucet cover. He messes about for a bit...Then says "I got to order a part". I never seen nor heard from him since (now April) God only knows how the drywall is fairing with water leakage. I called in numerous times and always get "we will send the part out" and... "should be there next week" routine. I even mentioned my drywall is in danger of black mold or rot." we are sorry sir".... well get someone out there asap". I think that I heard that like 5 times now. I highly recommend not using this company, pathetic customer service and incompetent service people makes one feel like they are saying we don't give a shit just pay us. (To put it bluntly). And to get me to sign a contract they sucked me in with "we will throw in this shower chair".... "Worth 200 dollars".... if memory serves me right. It will come with the installers"... yea.... well I have not seen that either. Even customer service says "we will get the chair there just held up in shipping right now, don't worry" (been coming since Nov 2025) The Salesman that sucked me in, originally (in Nov2025) I called him because customer service never knew about this, and tells me "call the salesman" his name is Matt Parasynchuk, he says to me.... "I forgot to write on the service contract about the shower chair. I will talk to head office. Calls back awhile later, "ok... I straightened it out".... "they are going to expedite it"...."sorry about the inconvenience" that was about a week or so after the installation. This was when the BS started...... I talked to the same customer service person about this many times. I feel like this is a lost cause. This company failed to meet the promises given as to items ordered, installation times, parts ordered, repair times, customer service. Do not be a fool and order from this company. YOU WILL BE DISSAPOINTED

Great installers. Salesman very knowledgeable and NOT pushy. Great tub. We love it. Very therapeutic.

The install was ok, nothing exceptional. The tub is bigger and takes more room then they told me at bidding time. No one called to see how satisfied I was after the install. Filling the tub takes over 15 minutes but does drain fast. Way more expensive then what you get for the $$$.

We originally gave a 5 star review for the install. That still stands. The 1 star review comes in with Kevin the salesman. We specifically asked if a 40 gallon tank was enough and he said yes. So we went ahead with the purchase o$28,395.00 before tax. First time we filled the tub we got about a third of the way and ran out of hot water. We called the office to let them know that we were very upset that we had not been told the truth. They totally kept dodging that fact.So now we are having to spend more money to get another hot water tank. So frustrating that they didn't care. Very bad business practice if you ask me.
Minus 5
This is about SafeStep in Canada.
I called to cancel my order Feb 23. I told them that I had to cancel because I was selling the house. They said they would refund my deposit.
I had a call on March 13, from a very nasty woman in Manitoba asking me about my installation date.
I told her that I never had an installation date and that I had cancelled my order February 23. I was, I told her, not in Canada and that I was trapped in the war. She kept on insisting that I had an installation date and not a cancellation date. So angry to be arguing with me this way, when I'm traumatized in a war zone. I told her to contact Shane and Steve in Toronto and talk to them.
She never said anything about my not being entitled to a refund and I never heard back from her, or anyone else.
I returned home on March 31. Over the holiday weekend I called Shane - who was the person that had sold me the tub. I told him that I had not received my refund. He said he would call the office, but I'm guessing he never did and now he won't answer my calls.
I called again today - April 8 - and left a message about my refund.
Suddenly it's a new story.
SafeStep cancellation department called back to tell me that they will not refund my deposit.
I am quite sure that it was the same nasty woman, called Robin, but from a different area code.
Nasty Robin declared that I was too late to cancel and that I had signed a contract. That's not all she said.
The Toronto people never said anything about that.
What kind of company acts like this?
I guess they don't care about honesty and integrity.
Do yourself a favour and DO NOT do business with this company.

SafeStep has replied.
They claim that my experience is not the level of service they aim for.
Well, I say; this certainly is the level of service they provide .. maybe until someone complains.
I"m sure a company like this would have seminars and training sessions etc for their employee, because I did not have a good experience with any of their people.
SafeStep goes on to reply, saying;
"Please know that our team is reviewing your concern and is committed to addressing it appropriately".
Sorry, Safestep,
Well, this is not an appropriate reply. This is a reply that companies use to stall, deflect, deny.
A decent company should reply by saying, "We are sorry for your experience and will refund your deposit."
Maybe Canada SafeStep should talk to the American SafeStep. I believe that American companies know how to train their people properly and they definitely know how to treat seniors.
I bet America SafeStep would never hire anyone like nasty Robin.
So I stand by my review of SafeStep.
Do not do business with this company.

If I could give a minus 10 I would. I was required to put a deposit down to cover my date to have safe step remodel my bathroom at a future date but by the time that future date came up I had a medical emergency and had to cancel. Safe step refused to return my full deposit even though they had over a month prior notice. They took over $1400 out of my $4000 deposit and to date has never returned my money. I will never do business with them or recommend anyone else to contact with them.
This is an updated review. First I want to say my first review reflects my feelings about the product and my interactions with the sales consultant and the contractor. Having said that. $14k to upgrade the water heating system to run this tub. What the sales consultant DIDN'T say was that my hot water supply was woefully inadequate. And from what I am finding out that is pretty common. Now in my case it is something I would have done before the tub was installed had he looked at me and said this will not work with your current supply. He did say it was old.that is not the same thing at all! I had 5 weeks I could have had this work done and a better first interaction with the tub. That is Not what happened. The hot water ran out a little past half way full. My mother was shivering. I got her out called the company and they said "oh, ya that is not a large enough hot water supply. " Here's where everything gets more complicated and expensive. Because of the fast fill system. The plumbing companies told me I needed a double tankless system now this is to ensure not only to easily fill the tub but so I can not have to wait for recovery time. I will be able after she filled the tub to do laundry or use the other shower immediately. But this is expensive and the tub was expensive! Would I have not bought the tub if I had known that upgrading the plumbing would be half the cost of the tub? Honestly, I don't know. What is clear is I wasn't given enough information to make that choice. So here's the reality. I am spending 14 thousands dollars to upgrade the water heating system because I spent 26 thousand dollars to put in an amazing safe walkin tub. That is the reality. And it's not just safe step. But that's my experience. Do better!
SafeStep, from the man who came to talk to us about the walkin tubs to the guys who installed the walkin tub. Each was very kind. Very good at their jobs. It was just 2 days.and they hauled the old stuff away. I received a lot of information on how the tub works. I am looking forward to having this available to my mom.

you gave me a miniature tub when I paid $22,000 for a large one. there's no shower (which I paid for ) Inquiries led no ware and you offered a shower for and additional $3000 plus installation.

I got my Safe Step tub for my wife who has dementia and was unable to get in and out of our whirlpool tub. At first she wasn’t very keen on using the tub. However with the help of a little
“Mr. Bubble,” she loves taking her Safe Step bubble baths. The only issue we’re having with the tub is the heater. It only heats the left side of the seat.

Very disappointed, have had several visits from service, have not really fixed the problem, $20,000 a lot of money to be this disappointed
Also, when the service man was here on February 13, 2026, he saw that my remote did not work, and that he would order a new one. It is six weeks and I did not get the new remote.

Shower installation did not match what I ordered. No communication was given as to why until job was completed. I have no complaints about the quality of the materials, but I am disappointed. I am currently waiting for parts ordered to correct issue, but I am not hopeful that I will get what ordered.

I bought my therapeutic tub several years ago from Safe Step Walk in Tubs & Showers. There are four of us living in our condo so it is used extensively. I am 83 years old with knee problems so it is a Godsend for me. The other people use it as well and love it. I even shower my dog using the hand held shower attachment while I'm conveniently sitting on the bench inside the tub.

Great product and variety of gadgets/enhancements. Well made and will be with us for many years ahead. Giving these old bones a shot at feeling good is a big deal as we age.

SAFE STEP IS GOING TO TAKE MY HOUSE!!!
I'm 63 year old disabled woman. I live alone in Sumter County Fl with my dogs. No children, just an older brother left in my original family.
I'm now dealing with an impossible situation
I am a victim of a predatory sale of a walk in tub from Safe Step Tubs.
That means that the Safe Step Tub salesman Greg Bundy who came to my house to make a tub sale knew I was in no condition financially or physically to make an informed decision on a $22,000.00 purchase.
Despite knowing I was permanently disabled and scheduled for a heart operation in two weeks, the salesman insisted that a Safe Step Tub would help me medically to reduce my constant pain and allow me to age in place gracefully.
I told him how sick I was, just two weeks away from a heart operation for AFIB. That combined with an undiagnosed extreme iron deficiency, left me vulnerable.
I told the salesman that I was afraid that I couldn't afford a tub.
He insisted and even told me he never saw a Safe Step Tub repossessed.
He told me I could get a part time job to pay for my Safe Step Tub in house loan after I recovered from my heart operation.
Despite knowing I had been disabled since 2005.
I agreed to purchase the tub because I can hardly walk and I am in constant pain.
The tub was installed before the loan was approved.
Leaving me no way to pay for the tub.
That predatory sale turned into a construction lien on my home.
That lien is now a foreclosure judgment.
I have until Friday at 5 PM to pay $22,000 or I lose my home.
I have a modest 2 bedroom one bath home that I paid for myself. I thought I would live out my life here.
Despite having equity in my home, there is no way for me to access it.
I have no cash to hire a lawyer.
I had no idea until yesterday that the judge could actually send my house to auction after the Friday deadline.
I have been basically bedbound for the last five years. I only get up for necessities. I have over 50 medical diagnoses.
If my home is foreclosed upon on Friday they can send my house to auction, which means I will lose everything I have left in my life.
And this is being done to an older disabled senior woman with no other assets, making $2,000.00 a month on Social Security Disability.
From a company that takes in 118 Million dollars a year.
