I just wish there was a way to fill it with water without sitting in the tub freezing. I never get a full tub because I don’t have the patience to sit and freeze. I usually just shower in it. There isn’t much room to stand under the shower.

After installation the door didn’t seal properly. Water leaked onto the floor which then leaked through floor and onto the ceiling in the living room and kitchen
I flled a claim with safe step which was declined. Cost us $1200 to fix it. At one point they sent a technician, he tightened the door. THEN he denied doing anything, but it doesn’t leak anymore.

Run don't walk away from this company
Run don't walk away from this company. I purchased a "Signature" walk-in and the first install did not have the correct valve and the hand held. The second "install" put the hand held in the wrong place. The third "install" was to put the hand held in the correct place but behind the panel was a hodge podge of drywall that was not green dry wall. I purchased in June and it took until October to get them to fix it correctly. Oh, and at first they said they would give me a quote for the third "install"

Alaskan BUYERS BEWARE!
Alaskan BUYERS BEWARE!! I bought this tub for my father in 2020 for an exorbitant price and we have had nothing but problems ever since. The air compressor has broken down and replaced 2 or 3 times; the drain seal was not tight at installation leaking water, unseen, for months into the crawl space causing black mold to form. Each time I have called for repair a so called repair ticket was created but nothing happens. You have to call constantly until you get to a manager before anything happens. Case in point, the air compressor is again not working, I called on September 2, 2025 for repair. Heard nothing, today, October 17, 2025, I called again, verified a repair ticket had been created then was informed that the replacement part had been sent to the repair technician several weeks ago. So the repair tech has the part and the repair ticket but has not bother to call me!! Seems to me this company is only concerned about selling their defective product then actually providing good customer service when a repair is needed. I WILL NEVER BUY FROM THIS COMPANY AGAIN!

Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this brand/company.
My 79 year old father had one of these Safe Step Tubs installed in his house and while he did like it he always complain he was always too cold when using it. After initially seeing it I though the workmanship on the install was pretty lack luster for what he paid for this thing (The caulking work alone was pretty bad, I'd expect higher quality work for the price point.) but I didn't say anything at the time because he seemed to enjoy the tub. Little did I know what a nightmare this tub was going to be....
After he passed away I bought the house and the first time I tried this tub myself as a shower I learned it wasn't installed level so any water that hit the back wall would run right off the side onto the floor. (Installing a curved shower rod after the first time easily fixed that problem.) Next I tried to use the actual tub and while sitting in this thing for 15 minutes waiting for it to fill up I ran out of hot water. (I specifically remember the sales man telling my dad his water heater had plenty of capacity (what a blatant lie). Then winter rolls around and the whole bathroom is incredibly cold... come to find out the installers removed all of the insulation from an outside wall below the tub, pulled back all the blown in insulation out of the attic to run the electrical and didn't bother to put it back in place, as well as removing the insulation and vapor barrier in the crawlspace basement to run plumbing and they just left it bare open to the crawlspace.
The worst problem was they removed the toilet to install the tub and must not have even have bothered to put on a new wax ring on because the toilet leaked for two years and ended up rotting out the plywood floor plus the underlying sub floor.
Some other things to mention about this tub... Taking an actual shower in this tub is challenging because there is hardly any room to stand.. plus your are constantly stepping in or on the drain. Cleaning this tub is also frustrating because you can't clean half of it from the outside because the door swings in blocking half of the tub, and trying to clean it while in it is impossible because there is no room to bend over. The bottom of the door which you can hardly reach because of the spacing is constantly moldy too.
I'm glad my dad enjoyed the tub but I'm also glad he passed away before having to deal with any of the problems this company caused. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this brand/company.

Safe Step Improper Installation cost my parents thousands more than the orignal very high price
My parents who were 88 and 90 at the time purchased a Safe step walk in tub and paid for the company to install it. The cost was very expensive - more than $20,000 even with their discount. They used it less than 20 times and when they went to sell their house just months later, the inspector found damage and mold from improper installation. A complaint was filed with the company, asking for assistance with the more than $10,000 required to remediate before the house could be sold. We received a one sentence answer in an email that the company would not assume any responsibility in this matter.

Good unit but poor service help.
Have had our fully loaded (all options) Safe Step tub for two years now and were happy with the installation. Have enjoyed it's performance until now. Unit no longer runs. Called their service dept. and was told they would get back to us quickly to schedule a technician to visit. It has been almost a week now and we've heard nothing. So, we would give them a five star, if it weren't for this lack of service help.
WE INSTALLED THE STEP-IN TUB LARGE SIZE…
WE INSTALLED THE STEP-IN TUB LARGE SIZE AND WITHOUT A SHOWER. WE FOUND THE INSTALLATION TO BE VERY GOOD AND ON TIME. THE SUPPORT HAS ALSO BEEN GOOD, ISSUES RESOLVED OVER THE PHONE THE DAY OF THE CALLS. THERE WERE PROBLEMS HOWEVER. THE BIGGEST PROBLEM WAS THAT THE SALESPERSON SAID OUR NEW 40 GALLON HOT WATER TANK WAS SUFFICIENT. NOT SO WE ADDED ANOTHER 40 GALLON TANK AND THAT IS FINE. THE OTHER PROBLEMS RELATE TO THE SIZE OF THE TANK. IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO HAVE THE WATER REACH YOUR CHEST WITHOUT CONTORTING YOUR BODY INTO AA VERY UNCOMFORTABLE POSITION. ANOTHER PROBLEM IS HOW THE DOOR OPENS ACROSS YOUR LEGS. THAT COULD BE SOLVED WITH AN OUT OF TUB OPENING, RATHER THAN AN IN TUB OPENING WHICH IS WHAT I WOULD RECOMMEND. THE TUB FILL TIME IS SLOW, ABOUT 12 MINUTES AND THE DRAIN TIME IS MUCH FASTER. IT TAKES ABOUT A HALF HOUR TO GET A GOOD SOAK WHICH IS MORE THAN A SHOWER BUT THE EXPERIENCE. THIS IS INFORMATION THAT I WOULD HAVE LIKED TO HAVE PRIOR TO PURCHASING THE TUB. I PROBABLY WOULD STILL HAVE PURCHASED IT.

I feel cheated
I’m sad to say this is not the experience I expected to have. I was drawn to purchase this unit because of the tv commercial with the older lady submerged to her shoulders in bubble bath. That is a lie, unless she was a midget, because in order to relax that low your hind end is of the front of the seating area. Not only am I unhappy with the tub area the shower area is worse. The space to shower in is not big enough to use without hitting the sides while washing my hair and worse than that is the need to put one foot on the seat to wash my private parts of my body. And last, my husband, who is not a large man, can’t use the shower without hitting the drain with his feet. To be honest this is the biggest waste of money I have ever spent. What I paid over 23 thousand dollars for isn’t worth the space it takes up in my home. I will never recommend anyone to purchase this item. I feel cheated.

This company has an all star customer service unheard of in this time we live in. Todd was friendly, professional, and fixed my problem in a very short time. The warranty on these tubs are exceptional, didn’t cost me a cent.

not as in the video
Installers were professional. The tub i purchased was largest one and looked roomy on sales video. Must have had it in panaramic mode as it is very small and cramped for space i.e. open door climb in sit down and unable to close door as legs in the way. Must stand and scooch far over and lean back to close door. Also i bought in July they said install 8-15-25 but install was 9-4-25. Included free toilet as promotion but they sent wrong size toilet so bathroom now has no toilet but should get a toilet next week. I am stuck with it so i guess i will have to live with its poor design but wanted others who may be considering this tub to be aware of difficulties with getting in and out. They try and sell you on fact it has has lowest step to get in but that does not make up for trouble of closing and opening door while in the tub. DO NOT RECOMMEND

Mixed feelings …
The salesperson was great and the product seems fine but terrible customer service. I was informed tub would be installed 3 weeks ago but the night before was informed that UPS lost the tub??? After 3 days of no more info was then advised it was a glitch in their system. Finally tub installed in 2 days but today inspectors arrived but no plumbing or electrical person so inspection failed. Again no calls back to explain what to do next. Worst customer service communication ever!!! Raymond

Making showering manageable
Needed a walk in shower to make it easier for my wife to shower. She suffered a stroke 8 years ago. We moved to 55+ community where the shower was smaller than we previously had. Took our guest bathroom tub out and installed walk-in shower. Made things much easier for her & myself.

The whole process was very smooth and everyone was very helpful and professional
The whole process was smooth, although it did take a bit longer than originally anticipated. The installation team arrived on time and completed the installation a couple of hours earlier than I had anticipated. The installer was very proficient and explained how everything worked before getting the final signatures and departing. All-in-all, I was very pleased!

I purchased a SafeStep but went wrong
I purchased a Safestep on June 30, 2025 and I have yet to have them to complete it. They cut too much of my floor, the shower head I'm waiting for and they didn't finish sealing the wall and tub. I called my sales consultant Joe Martinez several times and I have not yet to get a response from him. I did talk with Jennifer Malone and she stated it will be taken care of but no one has come as of yet. I paid good money for my Safestep and got a very bad deal.

The installer was so meticulous and adaptable with the quirks of our older house that the finished product is gorgeous.
