Poor Service and Product.Ryobi Lithium 36v Battery
Update 10/5/2022. Another two batteries do not charge. That is now £620 of 36volt 5ah batteries that have failed. I left a poor review on Ryobi website over a month and they have failed to post.
Ryobi Lithium 36v Battery. Failed after normal use. Just one month out of two year warranty but within 3 years of what was advertised on box. Customer Service made argument's over an hour call about it not being a CE battery supplied by U.K. Amazon. Although all other details are shown as Ryobi.eu and with German address. Customer representative threw every possible hypothetical scenario at customer to justify not having to replace. Agreed that extended warranty of third year was something that confused customers so Ryobi are aware of misleading advertising. That US battery wouldn’t have had offer of third year warranty despite what is shown on the box. Customer referred to warranty in user manual that wasn’t there. Nonchalant Attitude from Tom at Ryobi. You don’t expect a battery costing £160 each would last 20 charges. Won’t buy Ryobi tools again.

bought 40 v lawn mower have 2 acers and battery has no problem. so far so good.
I purchased a Ryobi Starter Package…
I purchased a Ryobi Starter Package with a drill, edge trimmer, and hedge cutter and have only really found the drill to be any good. Because I had a couple of batteries and chargers I also purchased a shrubber because it was a useful size for smaller jobs - this was a total waste of money and a pair of scissors would have given me better results. I find the Parkside Range from Lidl to be much better at only about a third of the cost and wish that I had taken the advice of a friend who works at one of the large DIY stores and told me that they had stopped selling them because of the poor quality and number of returns that they had experienced.
Wanted a new hedge trimmer and the salesman instore said the Ryobi hedgetrimmer would be perfect. Absolutely useless. Plus 2 defective batteries later and its now redundant at the back of the garage.
Wanted a new hedge trimmer and salesman in store assured me that the R7
Bought a battery powered hedge trimmer…
Bought a battery powered hedge trimmer with some trepidation about available power.
I am amazed how this tool works! I get a job done in half the time it used to take me with my old electric trimmer.
Highly recommend this tool!

RAC814 Patio Cleaner
Bought RAC814 Patio Cleaner - used it once and managed to do less than half patio before wire brush wore out. Product is complete waste of time and money.Numerous other native reviews on Amazon about same issue wire brush wearing out. Contacted Ryobi UK who were no help whatsoever and suggested I go back and talk to Amazon who I purchased it from . Bad product ad Terrible customer experience would not recommend to anyone

Just tried to email them but I am not allowed to use either an apostrophe in the body of the text or the word Ryobi - as both are considered special characters.
Completely bizarre….
Purchase was easy, delivery efficient but warranty registration a nightmare
Be aware that trying to register for the extended warranty is a cumbersome and time consuming process sometimes they ask for serial number but they mean model number. They also omit the fact the first digits of the serial number are 4000 not the number on the bit of equipment. They asked for proof of purchase despite the fact they sold me the equipment.
I think that the sales and warranty departments do not communicate.
In any event as they sold me the stuff all I should have to do to register for the extended warranty is simply to register not have to fill a form in for every bit of equipment bought from them!
Be aware that the extended pole hedge cutter really needs a harness although this is not made clear. If you order after the cutter has arrived you have to pay postage on top. Kind of regretting the purchase although not used any of it yet ( blower, strimmer, long pole cutter, chargers and batteries)
My experience with this company is…AWFUL.
My experience with this company is awful. Have tried to arrange a return & refund via DPD a home collection. Failed three separate times no sign of Ryobi - DPD. Third failed collection blamed me for not having there stuff ready for them. Haven’t seen anyone from either company even though have waited in all day on three separate occasions. Please be aware if you are returning any products this way,
Avoid at all costs
I bought a petrol expand-it tool a few years ago along with several of the ryobi accessories. After very limited use, most have failed and are irreparable as replacement parts are not available once a product is over 5 years old. The petrol engine was very flaky throughout its life until it too eventually failed. I took it to several garden machinery repair centres but none would touch any Ryobi products with a bargepole due to their poor quality and unreliability. Buyer beware!!!!
I bought a Ryobi Pole Saw
I bought a Ryobi Pole Saw. I find it very cumbersome, top heavy and hard to balance. It did however easily cut through quite thick branches.Wouldn't recommend it at all.
