Dissapointing customer service
Placed an order on the Ryobi website for a Stick Vac bundled with a free item, ( leaf blower) and they subsequently delivered the leaf blower only.
Contacted their 'lack of' customer service, who advised they weren't sure what had happened, and would look into it ... clearly they didn't :(
I phoned again, and was told the item was out of stock, with no eta. It couldn't have been out of stock when I ordered it I argued, because you must have a web ordering system that is hooked into stock control ... they offered to refund, providing I returned the 'free' item. Having told them it was being used, they weren't sure what to do, so I asked them to treat that as a complaint and phone back. They didn't...
I logged an enquiry on the website and indicated it was a complaint, no response ...
I phoned today the websites listed 'customer service' number, which was answered by a bored individual telling me I had got through to Sales, he transferred me through to 'customer service' who never picked up.
I hope Ryobi's marketing team take a moment to read these reviews, and move to get the head of their customer services removed from post ... :)
Terrible customer service.
Can only echo the majority of reviews here, Ryobi are an awful company to try to deal with if you have a problem and need someone to help. First and last purchase I'll ever make from them
Pathetic company to deal with if you…
Pathetic company to deal with if you have an after sales enquiry. They just don't reply. If after sales service is important to you, avoid this brand like I will be.
Great tools but poor customer service and sales staff
Ordered a patio cleaner via the website as well as an additional battery charger. The order was confirmed and showing as in stock, when it came to dispatch however the confirmation only showed the charger as being dispatched.
I called Ryobi tools and explained the situation and I was told that the email was wrong and that both items have been dispatched and would turn up. DPD came to deliver but only on item turned up. I then called and was told that the initial email was correct and that the item was out of stock. I was told that it's a fast selling item and that's why the website didn't update but 48 hours later, I checked and the product was still available to order. Why are you not keeping your website up to date? Why was I able to order a product that was out of stock?
I was told I can either keep the funds with Ryobi and wait for it to come back into stock (at the beginning of October) or Refund. I opted for a refund however it took 14 working days to process and endless chasing after being told it would be processed after 5 working days. Quick to take my money and order but incredibly slow to refund considering the issue was on your side.
I then called back in October and was met with incredibly rude sales staff.
Great tools, but customer service and sales staff let you down.
Just awful
Just awful, every thing just stops working. I spent loads on this stuff and it’s the worst decision ever.
Ryobi customer service is misnomer very…
Ryobi customer service is misnomer very difficult to contact them only seem to work a few hours a day and when you contact them they really aren't prepared to deal with issues especially around non delivery of goods.
All I wanted to do was buy a Leaf…
All I wanted to do was buy a Leaf Blower.
This is my experience so far.
I ordered it Monday and for some reason the address seemed to be wrong - I noticed it after I payed and contacted Custom services within a few minutes of finding this problem. Made contact soon as I could after an hour on the phone waiting.
After phoning every day several times and waiting hours to be told as soon as it picked up the address will be changed don’t worry.
DPD contacted me sending delivery details to wrong address and me contacting Customer services each time - told me it wouldn’t be delivered they have contacted the carrier. Next thing I know I’ve a photo of it sitting on a doorstep in another county!
Made contact yet again Custom services who said he would send a new one yesterday to my correct address.
Not hear anything more today so I sent email as I’m fed up phoning and waiting only to be told they are now investigating this problem.
So I’m now waiting yet again for the next instalment of this saga?
To say in disguise with what has happened is an understatement.
There is a well-known issue with Ryobi…
There is a well-known issue with Ryobi 40V batteries. If you look on YouTube, you will see a lot of videos about this issue.
What seems to happen is when the battery is completely discharged, it no longer works even if you try to charge it. When you press the power gauge button, all four lights blink. If you try to charge it, the charger light flashes green to red over and over.
Ryobi knows this is an issue and likely will replace it under warranty. However, unfortunately, mine is over 3 years old even though I only bought it about 2 and a half years ago.
They will not replace it. This is a defect that they are well aware of and should replace this even though it is over 3 years old. I have only used this battery about 10 times.
I'm done with Ryobi. Will invest in a more reliable line of tools.
Update 10/25/2022
Status update. I contacted Ryobi via their website and after sending a copy of the receipt showing I purchased the kit less than 3 years ago, they have now sent a replacement battery. I upgraded my experience to 3 stars since their representative I spoke with on the phone should have been able to do this, but never gave me any options. I also think the issue with the battery should be a recall and warranty should be extended.
Broken products, no customer service for repair.
I purchased a Ryobi weed trimer from Home Depot. It needed serviced in less than 4 months because it was not working correctly. I took it to Home Depot and it has been 6 weeks and they cannot tell me when I will get my product back. It could be weeks, months???? They cannot tell me anything other than that it is sitting in a warehouse waitinng for someone to look at it. So 6 weeks and no one has even looked at it. They do not offer a replacement, a rental, nothing. I am done with Ryobi.

I got two 40v one is the 10” pole saw and I also got the Hedge trimmer that came with a scrap to hold the tools, but I Don’t know how to used them because it has a buckle that has a Red Plastic with two arrows pointing the instructions do not say how do use it I tried a number of times on calling Ryobi and I can’t get a Answer I send photo and still get no response. How can I add a photo of the Red Plastic Part That I talked about
Poor Service
Woo - lots of poor reviews and no responses. I had an unused battery that on the website says 3 years warranty but when you contact them they change it to two years.
Really poor customer service and…
Really poor customer service and courier relationship.
On 10th July I ordered a hedge cutter from RYOBI (Techtronic Industries) who used DPD as a courier. It broke in the first hour of use so I contacted RYOBI to return it. It eventually got picked up on 28th July for an exchange. I then heard nothing. After multiple emails and phone calls. On 11th August i was told the return got lost with DPD but as they can see it was collected so they would send out another one and it would be with me in no more than 5 days. This came and went and I needed to get my hedge cut for an event. So I bought a hedge cutter from someone else. On Monday 22nd August. I contacted RYOBI who said they could see the problem my replacement package was stuck in DPD warehouse and was not released for delivery. As such I asked for a refund as I had already bought an alternative brand. RYOBI customer service agreed to proceed with the refund. Today 23rd August a RYOBI hedge cutter has just been delivered and I have not received my refund.
Buyer beware !
I bought a 40 volt weed eater ,got a replacement plastic head for it to avoid strong loss .broke first day ,thought it was user error so get another ,broke in the same place .now the battery died .truly dissatisfied
The customer service is a joke
The customer service is a joke. Weather you hold on the phone or request a call back, no help is ever available. Would not recommend purchasing
Struggle to make warranty claim
What a faff!
I had a battery fail within the first year of a two year warranty. Completed online form, nothing. Completed it again nothing. Started commenting on Twitter posts and invited to DM. Then ball dropped again. Commented on Twitter again and finally got a response and after around 6 weeks I have a replacement item.
It shouldn’t be this hard. A lot of gripes could be solved by Ryobi (or the parent company) properly resourcing the customer service department.
It’ll make me think twice about buying any of their other products.
EASY TO USE, LOADING SOAP WAS EASY
EASY TO USE, LOADING SOAP WAS EASY!!!
Unbelievably poor.
I have worked trade for just over a decade, I've had an array of tools and brands and when I switched to Ryobi I was initially impressed, however that rapidly declined, the tools I bought didn't last or they where poor quality, I spent 100's and then when I tried to use my warrantee on an item that had broken and the team where rude and extremely unhelpful. I still do not have a replacement and I shall surely enough not be a returning customer as no one even wants to try and help me out, I left a fair product review on their website and it was removed by their admin team.
Poor quality of kit, Poor customer service, Poor customer relations.
Ryobi Customer Service Website is Terribly Frustrating
Yep, their website seems to be set up to deflect any communication. I have an account and a registered product and when I attempt to contact, I get an error message that says I need to sign in? I am signed in as noted on the website status bar. I tried the chat bot and they just referred me to Home Depot-It is well known that Home Depot cannot help. I wrote a negative survey review as requested after the chat bot and the review can't be submitted? I am looking for a vent filler plug for RM480e riding mover transaxle- prob a $2 part, but it is not on the parts list or illustration? I called the service desk and the rep said they would need to contact "engineering", and it would take "awhile". It's been a few days and haven't heard back. Sheesh, what a waste of time and a sadly broken system they have set up.
Update: Contacted customer service again. The rep's advice was to take a picture of the broken part and take it to home depot or hardware store to find the part. A wild goose chase! This type of part is a specialty item and not available at hardware stores, insulting.
Impossible to send an email to customer…
Impossible to send an email to customer services, very poor web site.
Have purchased a 18v cordless lawn mower, very pleased with the mower however as I am an elderly person I find it physically impossible to place my hand over the battery and to press both side to release the battery from the power source, my hand is just not wide enough for this task, you have to hold the unit with one hand and press both sides of the battery to release with the other hand, I have to wait for someone to come to the house before I can mow my lawn. DISAPPOINTED TO SAY THE LEASE.
Pole hedge trimmer has serious design…
Pole hedge trimmer has serious design or manufacturing flaws. Blade and cutters are great but head is far too heavy even with the sling tightened. One would need muscles like Arnold Schwarzenegger to control it. I cannot understand why they did not use the petrol expand-it principle (which I have used for many years)of having a heavy motor at base, rigid metal poles with a cable drive and keeping the cutting head light. The pole fittings are dangerously sloppy possibly partly because stop rings which female socket is supposed to be pulled tight against do not make contact as the rings are too far down the shaft to butt up against the pole even when strongly tightened, so the pole curves like a fishing rod and lack of rigidity means the cutting head wobbles around like a cannonball on a stick of rhubarb giving poor and possibly dangerous lack of control. In addition the tolerance on the female/male coupling is very poor. This unit really is not fit for purpose. The cutter angling system also lacks a good positive lock and waves around. This product does not do justice to the Ryobi name. Additionally when I tried to leave a product review on their own system it would not let me do so citing "do not use special characters" (none in the review). Basically this company is not interested in learning to improve their product but takes the money and runs.
