Price hike for renewal
When my renewal time came up the price for renewal had risen by about 15%. When I declined the auto renewal a new offer arrived closer to last year's price. I would have accepted this if it had been the original price offered, but as I dislike this kind of attempted trickery I declined. I would even have declined an even lower offer on principle. I was having some reservations anyway as I do not wish to engage via an app in an emergency situation. I have therefore moved to an insurer whose breakdown cover offers a dedicated phone line contact

Setting up the insurance was simple and…
Setting up the insurance was simple and very efficient...but when my bank alerted me that 'Budget' wanted to set up a DD, I didn't know who it was. I had previously been insured with budget and had a wrangle with them for auto renewing, which I did not ask for...so I cancelled the DD.
