Motor insurance for 2026
Good price from a trusted brand with choice of optional extras. However, having declined certain options at the start I kept facing a roundabout of the same options going forward. This lengthened the process too much.

Ripoff fees
Admin and cancellation fees are an absolute ripoff. I’ve had to pay to put the original plate back on the car, and a separate fee to cancel the policy (the car has been sold and the new one isn’t coming for a while). I had to call to speak to someone as the website said I was t registered, then it said my password was wrong. I asked to speak to a manager about the fee and was told there wasn’t one as the centre was closed.
If the changes actually cost the company money fair enough, but if the website worked I’m doing the admin myself, so then I’m paying for the privilege of doing the work! Apparently a manager will call me back tomorrow, but I won’t hold my breath as the promised cancellation confirmation has also not been delivered. I’m so sick of big companies taking advantage of any opportunity to hand out nonsense fees - won’t be using RAC again

To help clear things up, our £15 administration fee applies to all policy changes whether you make them online or over the phone with us. We aim to be as transparent as possible about our fees and charges. We disclose them at the point of sale so you can decide if we're right for you, and they're also listed in your policy documents.
I understand how frustrating it is when a manager call-back or confirmation email is delayed, and I want to make sure this gets sorted.
