Recently moved house and have a multi dog household, some of my dogs are registered with Petlog and some with PETtrac. I amended free of charge the dog’s registered with Petlog and was disgusting at being charged £6 per dog to change my address with PETtrac. Why are you charging for change of address… no wonder people don’t amend their dogs details when they move and if stray dogs come in and are scanned, you can’t find their owners. There’s no paperwork involved in change of address as it’s all done on a computer… 2 mins of a job. Scandalous in my opinion.

As an organisation we are here 24 hours a day, 365 days a year where our team are on hand to assist with reunification in case your pet(s) go missing.
We receive no external funding and the cost to microchip the pet in the first instance is paid to the vet. Rather than charging an annual or monthly fee, we make a small charge when people move instead, as a cost towards providing our service.
With regards to the other database you have mentioned, as their website details there are charges so I can only imagine that you or someone on your behalf has previously paid to upgrade your records to their premium service, which allows you to make changes to your details at no extra charge. PETtrac have a similar service to this, so please contact us if you would like more information and so that we can assist.

Gemma and the team excellent
Spoke to Gemma yesterday after realising that one of my dogs wasn’t registered. I called after receiving an email asking if the details for one of my dogs was still current. Which was a great prompt. Gemma went above and beyond, talking me through registering and advising me on how I can transfer one of my old dogs transferred to them from another company. They are always so easy to deal with. Highly recommend.

I collected my new puppy on Friday, the breeder was very prompt at switching over ownership. I then received an email and a letter from UK Petrac to confirm details. Unfortunately my name was spelt incorrectly, so I followed instructions to change name. Constance replied very quickly and advised amendments had been made. Friendly and super fast service. Thanks

Friendly and efficient change of ownership
Thank you, Ben, first for guiding us through the sensitive process of changing the ownership/keepership of a cat that decided to adopt us. Then, with the previous keeper's permission, Ben completed the change process in less than an hour, followed quickly by an email with PETtrac's official registration certificate. This allowed us to register the cat at our local vet by the end of the same day. Many thanks Ben!

Superb service
Cannot recommend this company highly enough! Received fantastic support from Simon with resolving an issue I had with a chip which was implanted into by golden retriever by the charity I adopted him from. The chip was locked with another company and despite attempts to contact them, I was getting nowhere. I contacted Pettrac and was lucky to reach Simon who has persevered with my case, contacting the other company on my behalf, keeping me updated and even contacting DEFRA for further advice. I appreciated Simon’s professionalism and strong communication with me. He is an asset to this business!

Absolutely shocking ! Went to change my address and they’re asking for £6?! Small charge ? How on earth do you feel a one off change of address is worth £6? Called customer service and after politely questioning the £6 charge , they simply hung up on me ? Absolutely vile service and I’d rather pay £20 to another company now than deal with pettrac. My precious Border Collie who went walkabout…
My precious Border Collie who is senior in years, went missing for several hours while staying with a friend.
I contacted PETtrac who was the microchip provider when he was a puppy, explained the situation and Ellen who I spoke to was very helpful & reassuring during his missing hours. PETtrac put out a red alert flag on his status until we had managed to ascertain his whereabouts via notification from the local canine rescue organisation that someone had found him only a short distance away, and had contacted them and that they now had him.
After providing all his legal paperwork to the organisation who had him, my precious Boy who I bred myself was returned.
I kept in contact with PETtrac & vice vers, they kept in contact with me via email during the hours he was missing, to ask for an update and were very quick to respond via emails.
They were very helpful and the actual person I spoke to initially "Ellen" came across as very kind, caring and concerned. Not just a 'log it missing procedure' on their database.
Seriously considering transferring all my other pets over to PETtrac now, who are under a different microchip company, as this experience with them has inspired confidence should one of them ever go missing again! Heavens forbid!

I asked PETtrac the difference in dates regarding my African Grey Parrot stating the parrot was born 10 yrs after it was implanted Date 06/12/1995 and DOB 10/09/2005 which I just found out when I was changing my Address. How can this show such an error and not be noticed at the time of issuing the certificate

As discussed, it looks as though the date of birth had been registered incorrectly in 2010 at the time of the microchip being registered to you, however this was amended 4 days later and has been registered with the year of 1995 since then.
When you have contacted us recently to update your address, it sounds as though you had to hand the original paperwork that was issued with the incorrect date of birth on.
I am sorry if this was not made clear at the time of you updating your details with us.
