Poor quality shoe

The delivery was prompt and refund process also smooth. However: Poor quality shoe. There was a visible defective bulge on the top of the shoe when it arrived. The finish just looks shoddy with the rubber sole showing a few irregularies. Not worth the &180. On requesting a refund stating defective material, they are still charging me a 'processing' fee around 5 to 10 GBP

Don’t be fooled! Made in China

Despite the fact that they highlight the fact that these shoes are “designed” in Spain, they are actually manufactured in China, as the sticker on the bottom of the shoe attests. If you are ordering online from the US with this company, you are guaranteed to have a very difficult time. Sizing of their shoes is way off, which was admitted by an employee in the New York store. Customer service is horrible. There is no phone number to speak with anyone, only email. Charge $15 for both shipping and $15 return unless you pay two dollars up front for “free”return shipping. Extremely unsympathetic to the fact that their sizing is so off. Took a hit for $30 to ship and then return the shoes for credit to my credit card, upon which they inexplicably sent out another pair of the same shoes, forcing me to deal with yet another return in order to get the credit I originally requested. Ridiculous and completely unacceptable. Do not recommend this company at all. Much better quality and service available elsewhere.

I had high hopes for Meermin after…

I had high hopes for Meermin after purchasing multiple pairs of shoes and belts for my wedding. While I loved the pair I kept and even recommended the brand to others, my experience with their return process has been extremely disappointing.

I returned a pair of shoes I decided not to keep, confident they were in the same condition as received, having only been briefly tried on carpet. However, Meermin claimed the shoes showed signs of use and refused a refund, offering only store credit or to donate the shoes. Despite multiple emails explaining my case and how unfairly I felt treated, they stuck to their decision without providing a fair resolution.

The time and effort I spent following up repeatedly should show how genuinely aggrieved I felt, yet the company showed little willingness to value a loyal customer. I wore their shoes for one of the most important days of my life, and I initially praised their quality, but this experience has completely eroded my trust in the brand.

If you value fair customer service and expect companies to stand by their promises, think twice before purchasing here. It’s a shame to see good products overshadowed by poor customer support.

Terrible customer support and quality

I have been a loyal Meermin customer for several years, but my recent experience has been beyond disappointing. I purchased a pair of boots with shearling lining in my usual size and last, which have always fit perfectly in the past. However, this pair was completely unwearable - they couldn’t even be properly closed on my foot.

Despite providing detailed explanations and photos, Meermin dismissed my concerns, claiming the boots were not faulty. Their refusal to take responsibility or offer a fair resolution shows a shocking lack of care for their customers.

I will not be buying from Meermin again, and I strongly suggest avoiding them at all costs. Faulty products and dismissive customer service make this a brand to steer clear of.

When all goes well

When all goes well, great value for money as long as you realise what defects will matter a year from now. When all doesnt go well, depends on if you get a good customer service guy. I have 4 pairs. For a price I love them. But noone is perfect.

I'm giving 4 stars because my latest customer service attempt 2 was great. First I was fobbed off when asking about some issues. Than I realised it's a mistake in website description. When I mentioned this, all was resolved quickly and I'm happy. I stopped buying meermins due to annoying exchanges and customer service always fobbing me off, but now especially when returns to UK is much easier I'm considering again.

Unexpected Fees and No Response from Meermin Customer Service

I recently bought a pair of Meermin shoes for over $300, expecting a simple, straightforward purchase. However, after I had already worn the shoes, an invoice arrived in the mail from UPS, adding an unexpected customs fee of 44%—amounting to CAD 130 on a $300 purchase! This surprise charge made the total cost much higher than I’d anticipated and felt unreasonable.

I reached out to Meermin to share my concerns and ask for clarification, but they never responded. For Canadian buyers, be cautious when ordering from Meermin; you may face substantial fees with little support if issues arise.

Shoes ordered in August

Shoes ordered in August. Never received. Had to fill in a case and escalate it on PayPal. The case was closed in my favor. I end up have to pay 10 euros for the shipping fees for shoes never delivered to me. All communication with the customer service have been totally surreal. I would strongly advise anyone not to order shoes from a dishonest company.

Bought some suede chukkas with a…

Bought some suede chukkas with a matching belt and the colours don't match. I sent them photos and they responded that as they're a natural product to expect some variation.

Have posted the pics online and people say they're two different colours!

Won't be buying anything from them ever again.

Terrible

Terrible, shoes arrived damaged, seams open, glue showing in multiple areas and clear signs of wear.

When trying to get a refund it took absolutely ages and they wouldnt even reimburse the postage cost.

Absolute joke of a company, spend a little more and go elsewhere.

Worst service ever!

Worst service ever!
Be careful if you buy online.
Made a purchase online for a delivery outside UE.
Had to bring back shoes for some reason.
After following their instruction to drop shoes at Post office and requesting cleary the confirmation it would be free, they changed their mind (afterwards of course!) and refused to refund the amount of shipping (10% of the whole amount).
Either they are really bad in geography, or they just make mistake on purpose.
Best offer from them? get a credit to buy a new pair of shoes from their website. Id*ots

Low quality shoes and bad service

Ordered a pair of penny loafers and the leather on the tongue ripped after not even one day of wearing. After my complaint, they had exchanged it for a new pair the new pair ripped in the same spot after less than a month. After contacting them again I was told, that I must have not taken good enough care of the shoes. After which they stopped responding to my emails.

Meermin Shoes: Worst Online & Shipping Customer Service Experience

Unfortunately I have been experiencing the worst customer service experience ever from Meermin Shoes. I ordered a pair of loafers online from their website. The shoes arrived and were a half size too small. So I exchanged them for a half size up. I had to pay $15 dollars for shipping on the exchange. When my ‘new’ exchanged shoes arrived there were defects. I was requested to return this pair for another exchange. Ten days later I received an email from their shipping/billing department that in order for me to receive my exchange I would have to pay another $15 dollars for shipping fees. That would mean that in order to receive the correct size and undamaged I would have to pay $30 above the retail price as listed on their website!
On top of this, it’s been extremely difficult communicating with their shipping dept. At first they seemed to have a hard time understanding that I’d requested an exchange for my loafers, not a refund! To receive an acknowledgment of this took weeks!I have contacted their only retail location in the USA (Soho NYC) for assistance. All of the salesmen that I interacted with were understanding, courteous and professional. They too seemed bewildered as to what had transpired.
Simply put, dealing with this company via online has been an ordeal!

I visited the store in New York

I visited the store in New York, and I was treated horribly, with disrespect and no care, the worker so called “Zach” walked out mid helping me, then another worker helped me out, I came to exchange the show a couple of day later, and guess what Zach was there and denied the return, I even asked to speak to the manager, and he lied to me saying the manage isn’t there. Do not shop here!

Defective product, customer service horrendous

Received a defective product, was told that all the damage and tearing was normal, unbeknownst to me this seems to be a reoccuring problem.

The quality control team reviewed the multiple photos I had sent, confirming this was all standard damage you can expect on every pair of boots you purchase. I personally don't go out and spend £300 on a pair of shoes to receive them in condition I would expect after multiple years of wear.

Wouldn't make any purchases unless you wish to either wait multiple months for a refund, or have to chargeback via your bank due to them failing to honor a simple refund policy.

In December 2023, I bought a pair of shoes which was on sale on the meermin site, given that this brand does not deliver to my country, we agreed that I collect my shoes through their store in soho new york. On May 16 I went through their store in Soho, unfortunately the manager named Kyle didn't even know where my pair of shoes were, he told me that it was me and not him to write a message to meermin in order to find out where my pair of shoes were, I did what he asked me in his presence, no response was given to me, so I sent a second email because I was leaving New York is approaching and I need to get my shoe, meermin told me they were waiting for a response from their store in Soho.

Until today I haven't even received my shoes.

So be careful with this brand, keep your money in your pocket.

Terrible experience

I was hoping I would be the first one to write a negative review and I would be noticed by Meermin, but it does not seem this will be the case.
I am extremely disappointed by the experience, and especially the customer service. It is not simply bad - the representatives are illiterate and they are LYING to the customer.
I spent the entire winter trying to get a pair of shoes that fit right and are not defective. Now I am spending the entire spring trying to get a refund.
One of the pairs I ordered from them is fine, but I hope I will never have to deal with them again.
I have notified the Spanish authorities and already contacted a lawyer, I will pursue my interest in every way accessible to me.

Sent a defective pair of Chelsea boots, refused to accept fault

Sent a defective pair of Chelsea boots, in which the right boot was clearly improperly assembled in the area of the elastic band, which made it crooked. Left boot fit snugly and perfectly, and the right one was loose and unwearable. Meermin refused to accept my complaint and continued to ignore the issue stating that the sole was brand new and that the leather will have some imperfections when my issue was not with that. Luckily, I used PayPal and that helped me out to secure a free return, but now I am in battle to reimburse me for shipping given that they send a bad quality product. They did not admit the fault and will not sell this bad boot to someone else. I have never had such a terrible experience with a seller and I advice you to stay away from sellers with such abhorrent practices.

A complete mess

A complete mess. Ordered a pair of boots in August. Delivery was delayed several times, and customer service is completely useless. It is a matter of luck to reach someone with the will and capability to assist.
I finally got back my money after a long time.

Take your business elsewhere.
