Great customer service

I was initially dealt with by Robbie listened carefully to my question who passed me onto Ethan who was able to get it sorted. I felt listened to and valued as a customer. They were very patient and explained everything and I never felt under any pressure neither did they waste any time.

Resolved: Can't trade, zero customer support

I transferred all my accounts from HL to ii. The transition was smooth but when I try trade I get a warning saying trading is not permitted..I tried calling and was told the team was too busy and I should send a secure message instead. It's been 10 days now and I'm still waiting to hear back. I'm tempted to go back to HL.. they may be more expensive but at least I can use the account!

The customer service at Interactive…

The customer service at Interactive Investor has been great. I've had a slightly stressful situation in that I transferred a large sum of money to my account only for it to get lost somewhere in the system. However I've been dealing with George Duddridge. With his support, investigation, and continuous levels of communication, we've now located the money, which is back in my account, and the whole situation was a lot less stressful with his support.

Was a great service but they broke SMS 2FA recently

I have been a long term satisfied customer of II and would have recommended it to others. However in a new change of security policy which in totally Orwellian fashion they call "enhanced security" when they mean "reduced security" 2FA is no longer required for every login nor can you request it to be. According to II support the "intelligent" (ha!) system can waive this for 30 days and there is nothing anyone can do about this.

This is clearly terribly insecure and is something people should be aware of before committing funds if they require 2FA.

To clarify, we have introduced Adaptive Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), which is a risk-based security approach. Instead of requiring a security code on every login, the system carries out background security checks each time you sign in and will only prompt for MFA when a login appears unusual or higher risk.

This helps balance strong account protection with a smoother, less repetitive login experience for most customers.
As advised by our support team, this feature cannot be turned off or overridden on an individual basis.

We appreciate your long-standing custom and your concerns regarding account security. If you would like to discuss this further, our team would be happy to help explain how the controls work in more detail.

I spoke to a friendly woman called Addie who persuaded me to join ii and Im excited to get started. After an extensive explanation and a lot of questions on my behalf, I am thrilled to have now created my account. Useless and expensive

Useless and expensive. High fees, which will continue to increase, for rubbish service. They will tell you " you can't do that online, you need to phone". Then when you find an opportunity to phone within their limited opening times, they will tell you "you can't do that on the phone, you need to do it online", then when you do it online you will wait for four days and still won't receive a response. Then you'll process a transaction and it will say it will complete by 14:00 tomorrow, but when you submit the request, it will say that it will complete three days later. There are many other cheaper or free trading platforms, use them not Interactive Investor.

Problems withdrawing from my SIPP

I have been having problems withdrawing some money from my SIPP as a UFPLS and asked for some help.
Jessica took on the task and was very patient and extremely helpful. I'm not sure I would have been able to do it without her kind help. Very nice young lady.

Almost unusable phone service

Almost unusable phone service, which I'd never normally use but the shares they sold me in a 'C' issue remain untradeable online, despite being tradeable online at other brokers, and despite messaging them 3 days ago (without response).

"Up to 30 minute wait time due to global events" - only it's not due to global events, is it?

Online, ii are generally fine, despite a notably clunky system (shares often not available for sell quotes until refreshed, variable time-outs, can't go straight from buying one block to quoting for another, without first revisiting the portfolio page).

But when forced to use the phone, you may as well be sending your instruction in via Royal Mail.

I can confirm this is a known issue with the regulatory documents, and our IT team have been notified and are currently working on a resolution. Unfortunately, we’re not able to provide a confirmed timescale at this stage.

In the meantime, if you need to place a trade, you’re welcome to contact us by phone. We appreciate the inconvenience this may cause, so we will apply the standard commission rate and waive the telephone dealing fee due to the IT-related issue.

We also appreciate your broader feedback regarding the platform and phone service. While we do experience higher call volumes at times which can impact wait times, we recognise this is not the level of service we aim to provide.
