Awful experience

Awful experience. The driver said my bag was too heavy and asked for a big extra fee. When I tried to pay through my phone, he refused, started screaming loudly in a very rude way, and even threatened to throw my luggage out. I had to pay cash, and he stole the money without giving any receipt.

I reported it, but FlixBus just sent an ai reply and did nothing. Very disappointing and unprofessional.

Beware of this company

My trip from Catania to Palermo was completely ruined by a shocking incident involving an off-duty FlixBus driver who boarded the bus and physically attacked one of his colleagues. While this was not directly FlixBus’s fault, the way the situation was handled was completely unprofessional.

Throughout the ordeal, none of the drivers on board informed passengers about what was happening or how long the delay would last. We were left sitting on the bus for approximately four hours while police and an ambulance arrived — without any communication or assistance from staff.

To make things worse, FlixBus never reached out to apologise or even acknowledge the incident. I decided not to use my return ticket to Catania because, after such a terrifying and poorly managed experience, I no longer trust a company that shows so little concern for passenger safety.

Don’t you screen the staff you employ?

Never Buying Tickets from Flixbus Again

I had the worst experience with FlixBus. I purchased tickets twice (one from Milano Centrale to Malpensa, and two from Bologna to Milan), but never received a single ticket. The money was taken immediately, yet no service was provided.

I contacted customer support and sent every official document requested: statements from Bank of America, Intesa Sanpaolo, and PayPal. Despite this, they kept refusing to process the refund, saying the documents were “not clear enough,” even though they were official bank records. They are now asking for documents that do not exist, simply to delay the refund.

This behavior is unacceptable and feels like a scam. Withholding an 89 EUR refund while refusing to acknowledge official documentation shows a complete lack of responsibility. This is the most unhelpful and unprofessional customer care I have ever encountered.

At this point, I joked that FlixBus would need to give me 3 years of free rides anywhere in order for me to regain any optimistic attitude toward the company.

I strongly warn anyone considering FlixBus. If something goes wrong, they will make it extremely difficult to get your money back. Avoid this company.

Luggage was stolen out of the bus, -flixbus customer service is terrible

Took a bus from Venice to Trieste. We were 30 minutes late on the 2 hour journey, but its whatever. But when I got off the bus in Trieste my checked luggage wasn't on the bus.
Their customer service is close to non existent. Their online chat is either a bot or an agent who can't even conversate in basic english.
Now for the past 3 month I've been emailing flixbus for some compensation so far they offered 200€ "out of their goodwill". The bag was worth around 1000€.
Don't recommend them to anyone.

Not Punctual at all

I was booking the bus from their app, the time for the bus was 4:15 pm and marked as on time, then right after i paid the time changed to 5:30, then i tried to cancel the trip because of their negligence then they were not agreed to refund to the original payment method instead giving their voucher which can only be spend on their app, and the worst part about the time that 5:30 was also wrong we had to wait untill 6:20.

Rude staff and poor management

Terrible experience. Booked a window seat for myself, and a lady sat there. Asked the conductor for help, he conveniently said ‘it’s not his job‘. Lady sitting in my seat was extremely overweight and didn’t provide any space to sit. Overall staff was very rude. No help was provided. Would not recommend. Disgusting.

Verbal Harassment and Physical Intimidation by an Aggressive Flixbus Employee

On October 11, 2025, my girlfriend and I arrived at the designated bus stop in Verona (Viale Andrea Palladio) at approximately 19:53 for our 20:00 departure to Milan. The bus, operated by FLIXBUS with license plate GZ 682SV, arrived at the same time. As we were the last passengers to board, I attempted to place our two backpacks into a luggage compartment near the boarding door to expedite the process.

An employee of the carrier immediately began shouting at me aggressively in Italian. I replied in English/Italian, "calm down please" , apologized for my mistake, and explained I was trying to be helpful. I repeatedly asked him to calm down, but he continued to shout, stepping closer to me and my girlfriend in an intimidating manner. His behavior escalated as he struck the side of the vehicle's luggage door several times with his fist. This action visibly frightened my girlfriend.

The employee refused to scan our tickets or assist with our luggage, for which our ticket included an allowance of two hold bags. He then threatened me, stating, "You're a tourist; maybe I should call the Carabinieri/Polizia." I perceived this as discriminatory and threatening. He subsequently ran to the front of the bus and attempted to close the doors while we were still outside. I was forced to physically block the doors by jumping into the doorway and standing between them to prevent the bus from leaving without us. After this, he finally scanned our tickets while was still screaming at us.

We were forced to carry our two large backpacks and another bag into the cabin for the 2 hour and 35-minute journey, as they would not fit in the overhead storage. This created a terrifying, uncomfortable and difficult travel situation. The employee's conduct constituted verbal harassment and physical intimidation. His actions, especially punching the vehicle and attempting to close the doors on us, created an unsafe environment and caused my girlfriend significant emotional distress, which persisted for the entire journey home.

"A dishonest FlixBus driver who falsified the arrival time.

I traveled with FlixBus on Friday, September 5, 2025, from Trento to Grenoble, with a scheduled transfer in Genoa. The bus was supposed to arrive in Genoa at 2:05 PM, but it left Trento with over a 2-hour delay and only arrived in Genoa at 6:50 PM, causing me to miss my FlixBus connection.
What’s truly shocking is that at 5:40 PM, while we were still en route, the driver briefly opened the rear door of the bus. At that exact moment, the FlixBus app falsely showed that the bus had already arrived in Genoa, which was clearly not true. Considering the bus left the previous station in Milan around 4:15 PM, it was physically impossible to reach Genoa by 5:40 PM.
This appears to be a deliberate manipulation of the schedule, seemingly endorsed by FlixBus, which has refused to refund me despite clear evidence. This is a blatant violation of their contractual obligations and transport regulations.
I strongly advise against using this service until FlixBus takes responsibility for such misconduct.

Worst bus company out there

Would have to be the worst bus company out there. It was extremely late. My seat and my wife's seat was wet who knows from what. The aircon was hot and the bus was dirty inside as the backrest was full of rubbish.
