Unreliable Service and Failure to Deliver - Requesting Refund

I am extremely disappointed with the service I received from Express Unlocks. I initially paid £42.00 for a standard phone unlock, which was supposed to take three days. Not only did it take longer, but it ultimately failed. I then paid £133.00 for a two-week unlock service, with a promised delivery date of November 25th. That date has passed, and my phone remains locked. I am owed £14.99, £42.00 and £133.00.

Customer service has been unhelpful, and I feel like I'm being ignored. I am now requesting a full refund and will be forced to take further action if I do not receive it promptly. I cannot recommend Express Unlocks based on my experience. Save your money and look elsewhere for phone unlocking services.

Our records show your order from 10 Nov 2025 is marked "Unlock cancelled by client and full value credit note issued", so instead of a card refund a credit note was issued for the order value. As the terms explain, "Credit Notes can be used against any sim unlocking service, and for any device - simply click 'Use Credit Note' on the checkout page when purchasing." If you’d like, I can personally prioritise rebooking the AT&T iPhone 16 Pro Max unlock using that credit note and escalate it to our tech team.

Please note that "Eligibility Check: These checks are non-refundable." If you want me to proceed with rebooking now (or escalate this to a senior tech), reply “Yes — rebook” and I’ll get it moving straight away.

In times where it's difficult to trust…

In times where it's difficult to trust online sites to give them your details and hope they will help you, I'm very grateful to these experts who did exactly what was needed and kept telling me if they may have a problem and it might take longer than expected. As promised

As promised, I shall leave a review after trying the services provided by express unlocks:
1. I applied for unlocking my iPhone 13 Pro Max that I had used for over 3 years, got it new and unsealed the box myself.
2. After buying a new iphone, I had a backup done of the 13 pro max which should be moved to the new iPhone but along the line, my 13 pro max was reset by the technician and this started the sim lock problem, which I did not understand at first till further explanations from the tech.
3. I have used various SIM cards before on the phone and had no issue before the phone getting reset for the first time.
4. I paid for the check and it came back positive and they requested I Pay for the unlock and this failed because my phone was black listed for some reason. So $79 dollars spent so far and given to me as credit.
5. They requested I pay premium which would cost almost $100 more on what I have already spent.
6. Told them I do not have the finances to carry on with the process and requested a refund. I was told refunds are not allowed because of their clauses etc but I explained my part well and requested they help since I did not initiate the transaction knowing it will be this complicated.
7. A representative called “Anna” swooped in and helped big time with various actions such as asking key questions and helping escalate with the organization.
8. It took almost a month but I finally received the refund of both payments and I was really expecting only refund of the second payment.
9. I would like to thank you Anna and Tim for the refund and have dropped my review as appreciation for the effort you put into my case.

As our Terms state, "Guarantee does not apply where handset appears to be BLACKLISTED..." (Terms 7.1), and blacklisted devices can need a Premium Service to proceed.

They first ask for 24.99$ for…

They first ask for 29.99$ for eligibility check. First scam. Secondly ask for unlock charge. And days later they tell you they couldn’t unlock so you need to pay extra. I ended up paying over 180$ and the next they demanded for another 150$. They are scam. They will keep demanding for more money. And the worse part is you will never get a refund. If there’s anyone who can help report them to the authorities or FBI I’ll be very grateful.

Our Terms explain the $29.99 Eligibility Check is charged and non‑refundable: "Pre‑orders... are not covered by our money back guarantee. We perform a variety of checks..." and the Refund Policy also states "Eligibility Check: These checks are non‑refundable." The T&Cs also state "It is not possible to cancel your order once it is paid for." That’s why you saw multiple charges when additional work or upgrades were required: "If your phone requires an upgrade (e.g., from Standard to Premium Service), any initial payments are non‑refundable." At the same time, if a Premium Service is attempted and fails, "both your Standard and Premium payments will be fully refunded."

You haven’t supplied your IMEI or order reference — that is required to locate and review your case. In the absence of any reference, we cannot address your specific concerns. Please either reply with your IMEI and order number or use the Live Support link on your tracking page so we can investigate and escalate to our fraud team if needed.

Express unlocks only reply publicly

Express unlocks replied publicly to my Trustpilot review, but they still haven’t contacted me through their official support. It looks like they only respond on Trustpilot to calm others down, not to actually help. I have received only AI responses on chat. I have emailed them on their official email address 10 times but still no response. Many users are reporting the same issue — be careful. They haven’t refunded or unlocked my phone even after 4 months. My IMEI number is 358536502165963

Expensive but efficient

Although quite pricey, the service was smooth and delivered very fast!
It was very easy to apply for a service, and instructions were clear.
The only annoying thing was that it was not so clear when it came to the full costs, which are slightly more than the first offered price.

First it's $25 you pay then they tell you need to pay more because no refunds so you get conned into paying I ended paying over $100 and then 6 days later they email me saying they can't unlock my phone and here is $75 store credit.

A couple of policy points from our terms for clarity:
- “It is not possible to cancel your order once it is paid for.” (Terms 2.1)
- For Premium iPhone failures: “Premium Services which fail - both your Standard and Premium payments will be fully refunded back to your card if it is not possible to unlock your device having tried Premium Service.” (Refund Policy)
- We also state we may “issue you with a credit note to use against a different service in the future.” (Terms 7)

If you paid for Premium and it failed, we can pursue a card refund — otherwise I’ll review why a credit note was issued as soon as you send the IMEI/order number.

Dirty thieves

Dirty thieves. $24.99 is a load of crap. I stopped when they charged me $38.99 when supposedly the sale said $24.99 to unlock. Then they tried get me for another $50. No chance. Liars and thieves robbing people. Your word really means nothing. Very tricky scam but sneaky goes without saying.

Update

I wrote a review earlier complaining about the initial $24.99 unlocked fee and the additional hundred dollar charge to actually unlock it. My update now is that although they said the phone unlocks in about 6 hours, that is untrue. My phone was unlocked 13 DAYS LATER. That is correct, 13 days later. Although the service is horrible if not downright criminal, they offer to give you $10 if you write them a 5-star review even though it is not. Sadly people want to recover something in return and that’s why you get those reviews that say it is a great service for $10. What a horrible company.

- “Delivery times are guidelines… These delivery times are variable and can decrease as well as increase without notice.” (T&Cs 6.1–6.2)
- “Pre-orders, eligibility check, and unlocking costs are incurred immediately upon placing your order.” (T&Cs 2.1 / 7.3)

Refunds are only issued in specific cases (for example, incorrect unlock code after working with our technician) — see our Refund Policy for details.

To actually look into your order and try to make this right I need your IMEI. Without an IMEI we can’t find your order or escalate it. Please use the Live Support link on your tracking page to send your IMEI and I’ll get this investigated ASAP.

Very impressed with the service.. if you're worried about the payment, don't - it's money well spent!
