Lovely experience 🩷✨

I had such a lovely experience at Dublin Nails in Penneys Galway. I got regular gel polish with a French on my natural nails (no extensions), and I couldn’t be happier with the result.
Misheelt Gansukh did my nails and she was absolutely amazing — so professional, gentle, and really precise. The French is super clean and elegant, and my nails look neat and flawless. She took her time and made sure everything was perfect, which I really appreciated.
Highly recommend asking for Misheelt if you’re going — I’ll definitely be back!

Very poor quality

I had my BIAB refill nails done on Wednesday and by Friday two had completely peeled off,
Like stickers, not chipped. Then the following day the rest came off. I e mailed and a lovely member of staff called back, apologised and booked me in to get them re done the following day. This time they lasted just under a week before once again all peeling off. It was also very painful in terms of burning under the light, I understand sometimes it can be hot with BIAB but this was very hot. The member of staff I dealt with was super friendly and apologetic but as a service- it’s not worth it and very disappointing.
Would not recommend

Mary Street location

Mary Street location. Had shellac done on the way to the airport, it had bubbled and peeled from 3 fingers while I was on the plane. Was offered a replacement set and booked me in for when I returned home. After I had the service I was told the note was not on the account or booking and had to pay. Reached out multiple times to ask for a refund on the bad service and the service I only had as I was told it was to replace the faulty nail set and received no reply. Eventually recieved a reply offering a new set and was told a note was added, but then recieved another email from someone else offering to put a note on the account, implying I was still not added. Refused a refund completely. Issue never resolved.

Unprofessional work

Penneys Mary street
I went in for an acrylic removal and basic nail cleaning, and the service was extremely disappointing. The technician clearly lacked skill — she couldn’t even shape my nails properly, and the whole procedure was done very poorly. It ended up taking over an hour, even though my nails weren’t fully covered in acrylic. For such a simple treatment, I expected my nails to look clean and healthy afterward, but instead they looked uneven and poorly cared for. Definitely not worth the time or money.
I think the technicians name was Enkh!!

BIAB CHIPPED AND PAINFUL TREATMENT

Biab chipped and fully came off within 2 weeks. Biab usually lasts 4 weeks with refills only needed due to growth. The product they are using here is not good. The therapist was also very heavy handed and filed down my skin leading to painful nail beds and fingers for days after treatments. Really bad service!

Horrendous

Horrendous. A simple shellac ‘soak-off’ with ‘Oly’ at Nails Dundrum, which she refused to soak due to ‘not having time’ (place was empty + the whole evening was free appointments on their booking calendar) she then used the highest grain electric file, taking literal chunks out of my nails, all while reading text messages on her phone + watch. At one point she hit nail bed. No exaggeration I’d to take painkillers they were so sore going to sleep that night. Please book literally anywhere else!!

Worst set of gel extensions in my life

Worst set of gel extensions in my life. Tips are way too big for my nail bed, one nail literally fell off the next day, I’ve never experienced that in my life. Contacted them through instagram to fix it but no reaction whatsoever. They dare to charge €65 for a hideous set of nails that fall off the next day. Absolutely shite!

Something a miss about this company

Something a miss about this company, staff retention is shocking so think it says alot about them as a company. All the girls I've dealt with are lovely but none of them ever stay long. I only get my nails done here as it's wheelchair accessible & like I said the girls are always lovely & have always done a great job. Time to look after the staff & hopefully they might stay!!! Girls get 5 star but not the company.

Horrific

Quite, genuinely the worst nail salon in Dublin. They survive solely by brand name and location! I booked via the website and was directed to “Planet Beauty” who claims to be part of Brown Thomas - an utter disgrace. The employee did not even greet me and grunted throughout the entire process - FYI they DO NOT even have basic colours - embarrassing for a company who claimed to be on trend !!! They have recently moved from the “the gel bottle” to reduce costs. They have resorted to another alternative which has resulted in several of my nails breaking and FYI to any unfortunate future customer you will be charged per nail to repair ??? Wake up Nails Dublin Wicklow St - they are failing because of your crappy products!! I would like to reiterate each (working) employee is a dream to work with but front of house doesn’t care about the customers, prioritises friends (which I’ve witnessed first hand ) and alters bookings to make themselves look better and then blames customers.
I cannot reiterate how pleasant each working employee is minus front of staff.
More in the brands lane reinstate quality products, hire more pleasant front of staff and reward their amazing workers doing the job!!

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!

Leaving one star because I cant leave a 0.
Went there for a refill + nail art. They have 0 experience the nail art was very ugly nothing like the inspo pic, one the other nail artist started apologizing for how ugly it was; and the only nail that broke is the one they fixed. Paid 85e for the ugliest set ive done in my whole life. Poor management, poor skills. Please AVOID.

Shocked and appalled

*Editing my 5 star review which i left 2 years ago because today, I've just had the worst possible customer experience in my life with Cameron the Manager of the wicklow street branch.
I had an appointment for 3pm and i emailed at 11am the morning of my appointment to ask for a cancellation due to illness in my family. I never got a response so at 2pm I phoned and spoke with Cameron. She told me there was nothing she could do and the full fee would be taken.Naturally i was quite distressed by this.I fully understand the need for this in case of a no show because a technician has been freed up and walk ins potentially turned away etc but manager discretion should be applied depending on circumstances and notice given.
Ive been a customer for over 7yrs.a loyal customer due to the excellent service in the past which naturally has made me want to return and i have never used any other company to get my nails done. Have defo made a cancellation before too.
Cameron really did not handle the situation professionally whatsoever. The goal posts kept moving on what could be done for me.
After a few minutes credit could be applied to my next appointment. Then it was credit could be applied and i would receive 40% off. I cant afford to take credit presently.
She was very scripted in her responses repeating that she would have to charge me.She tried to sound sympathetic but stuck to the script that nothing can be done. I asked if there had been a death in my family would she still be applying the policy with such an iron fist approach. She avoided my question.
I repeatedly argued that i felt this was completely unfair and if someone has a family emergency why would you charge them especially given i had given as much notice as possible (4 hours) considering the circumstances.
I explained that a Manager always has the power to use discretion and nothing is that out of somebody's control.(I am in retail management myself so I have come up against many different scenarios like this)
She would still have to physically charge my card something she could choose not to do and again i asked what if there had been a death? She said in the case of a death of course she wouldn't charge me.
I was extremely upset explaining its something I'll need to warn people about then.I am fully prepared to escalate this on principle and would be telling as many people i could about how atrocious this is.One of the reasons given was because Nails is extremely busy because of the Christmas period but the Christmas period is now over and by that logic if given 4hrs notice then there would be no loss to revenue seeing as Nails is "so busy". Im sure a walk in would be delighted with my time slot.Eventually she said she would endeavour that my card be refunded today.I corrected her because my understanding was that my card hadn't yet been charged. She looked it up said something to the effect of that's right and then told me to have a nice day and hung up the phone on me.A little while later i checked my banking. €78.50 had been taken from my account at 2pm according to the details on the transaction.Naturally I rang Cameron straight back. She proceeds to tell me that it was automatic because of no show as if she had nothing to do with it.I didn't accept this.Firstly it was 14:40pm by this point so how could i have been automatically charged for a no show if my 3pm appointment hadn't come around yet? She kept repeating its an automatic charge and she was sorry but best she could do was refund me 50%! I asked her "how are we having this conversation again?" because our last call ended in her explicitly telling me i was going to be refunded /not charged at all so essentially this had been resolved. She then told me to call back when i had calmed down!! And hung up!I think i had every right to dispute this but was by no means being in anyway abusive But to keep changing the outcome is only going to escalate the situation for a customer. She told me i wouldnt be charged at the end of our first call and then did it anyway and changed her script again. €80 gone 😔

Very disappointing

I got my nails extension done in last week of October 2022. The technician was struggling to get them on. This process took close to 1.5 hrs. I was patient as the staff were friendly. In about 3 hrs time nails started falling off. I called them and informed. They asked me to come over the next day. But next day morning they called & informed that the technician was unavailable asked me to come the day after. I asked if anyone else can do it but the manager said we want the best person to fix it. Their expert staff should have done it in the first place. By the time I visited the day after 4-5 nails came off. Very disappointing. They took a look at other nails too and said it was not sturdy so they have to re do it completely but they didn’t have the time to fix it. Asked me to come during the weekday. I had already told them that I was going on a vacation and wanted to get it done for that. I didn’t want to go through the entire process again as I was not confident with their expertise. So a staff took off all the other remaining fake nails and scrubbed the nails so badly to get them off. My nails were so damaged and have been breaking since. They said they can’t do a refund as it is part of Penneys. But I can get some services done with them for the amount I had spent. There were no other services I require there. so I asked them if they could give me gift vouchers for that value instead and they refused to do so too. Complete waste of €75. They didn’t even give me a note stating they owe me service worth that money. Total disappointment & bad customer service.
