My experience with BudgetAir during a major international flight disruption was honestly one of the most stressful customer service experiences I have ever had.
My airline changed my transatlantic flight by approximately 48 hours, which immediately affected multiple already booked flights and hotels for two passengers, creating hundreds of euros in additional costs and major logistical stress while I was traveling abroad in Peru.
BudgetAir informed me I had only 24 hours to respond or risk losing my ticket confirmation, yet their customer support was practically unreachable. I spent almost 4 hours in the chat queue with “30 people ahead” showing the entire time. When I finally reached an agent and explained the situation, the chat was abruptly closed and I was immediately asked to rate the service, despite receiving no actual assistance.
I repeatedly attempted to contact support through every available channel while under intense time pressure and received almost no meaningful help.
I understand flight disruptions happen. What matters is how a company supports customers when things go wrong. In this case, I felt completely abandoned during a very serious international travel situation.
I would strongly caution travelers before booking important long-haul or multi-leg trips through BudgetAir, especially if you may need urgent support during disruptions.
