Woeful Customer Service

Platform is good but their customer service is woeful. I have been trying to discuss my account with a human, having given up on emails (replies inconsistent with little apparent interest in understanding and solving my problem), for at least six weeks. Desperately need to remember there are other Apps out there

Late on site and used me as their private storage

Good cherry picker, but the service was a circus. Wrong kit delivered, 1.5-day delay to fix it. Then they abandoned the machine in my garden for four weeks. Retrieval was a farce—two hours’ notice, no coordination, and threats of extra charges when I asked for a proper appointment. They finally turned up unannounced again, and I had to rearrange cars just to get rid of it. If you enjoy chaos, they’re perfect.

Following the reply from Nationwide below, I sent them all the details they requested but other than a brief note of thanks have heard no more.

DO NOT USE

Booked online through booking dot com. Paid in advance for unlimited mileage, took my own insurance. On arrival immediately tried to upsell insurance for €100,I declined, tried to put a 750km limit on the contract, I showed them my online agreement. Requested a credit card garuntee against damage and took €750 off the card which six weeks later they have failed to return and I’ve just started fraud proceedings. In short they are a dishonourable business who attempt to rip-off their customers at every turn. DO NOT USE

Constantly spamming my mobile number

Constantly spamming my mobile number - if they have to resort to these tactics it suggests their product is mass-produced and shoddy.

Conveyancing Index - you don't know my name (it would seem) you don't know my business and you don't know my company ... you will also never know how much business you've just lost but to fill in one of those blanks my business is Estates Management for a global corporate!

Brilliant Repair Service

Just got my Yalla Peak jacket back from Berghaus / Repairhaus (it has taken a while…but most businesses are still getting back on their feet)

Really, really pleased with the results. A ten year old jacket is, let’s face it, never going to look like new but if I didn’t know the seams had been re-taped and re-velcroed the cuffs, both of which had simply worn out, I certainly couldn’t tell. Icing on the cake has been the work done under the lifetime warranty which even for an admittedly expensive product is brilliant!

Looking forward to the next ten years of service 😊

Insulated "Cup" is ab fab :)

Just bought an insulated "cup" from another source but SO impressed I'm leaving a PRODUCT review here. The cup (it's actually a mug, but no one ever accused the French of understanding English) ... is the stainless vacuum mug/flask with a flip-over top, really really impressed. My first cup of tea has been sitting next to me for at least 3 hours and it's still hot! :)

I bought 2 pairs of reading glasses from these people less than 6 months ago. Both have now fallen apart and e-mails to Just Glasses have been totally ignored. Summary: cheap rubbish and useless customer service.

Icing on the cake - they keep sending me marketing e-mails despite my request they delete my details

Breath of Fresh Air

Friendly, open and honest... a rare thing in car hire. I know the industry and had purchased everything I needed in advance, including cdw, over the internet in my own language. There was no attempt to "upsell" (I wouldn't have bought), 4/5 because of the stupid rental prices for snow-chains, €146 a week - I asked about prices and the lady really didn't push it because she knew she wasn't going to make a sale.

If you are renting to go into the mountains be aware that most supermarkets near the Alps sell snow chains for around €40 so you are much better off buying your own locally.

Just bought two christmas trees from here -

One has dried mud ALL over it - clearly dragged along behind a trailor. Should have been jetwashed or ditched. Didn't see it until I'd got it home, cut the base to fit my stands, carried it upstairs and unwrapped it

Both appear to be grown from stock spliced into last years tree stumps, both far too big to fit in a standard stand and needed trimming to size with a chainsaw

A load of phaff at a busy time of year that I really didn't need, for quite expensive trees. Utterly unacceptable from a luxury end retailer

Review of Gigaclear

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Unreliable broadband and appalling customer service

Installation was efficient and punctual - since then utterly utterly crap. I currently have four complaints open and a fifth they closed without addressing my problems.
Coverage throughout the house is laughable - my daughter in an adjacent room to one of their nodes gets 0.5 Mbps of download, - most of my IOT lightbulbs have ceased to function, - my hard-wired radio keeps dropping out.
The linksys system only has one ethernet port so I now have that tied to a four-way spitter provided by Gigaclear: NOTHING linked to it is reliable. Additionally the WiFi signal attenuation from their towers is rediculous... Talk to their service desk and they refuse to accept there is a problem if you aren't using their App on a hard-wired device. My TV is 12 feet away in the SAME ROOM and by the time it crosses the 12 feet 300Mbps has miraculously become about 40.
Service speed is erratic and virtually NEVER anything like the 300Mbps I pay for

Profit First, Customers Second

Really complicated to set up, annual fee is autorenewed unless you stop it, spent 30 minutes and about 10 e-mails today trying to access my account - and when I did finally get in I was staring at a shopping cart trying to upsell ... might be a good service but the customer journey is appalling

Not-so-cheap Rubbish

Item looked nice BUT - arrived 24 hours later than expected and despite including a piece of paper stating that two people had apparently inspected it the hinge of the back closure was bent. I contacted them via e-mail and received no reply.

Next day was Christmas so I gave the watch to my daughter with a little note to the effect that I was minded to return it... she was initially inclined to keep it despite the dodgy hinge but then it stopped within 5 minutes of being set and wound.

So conclusion no reply to a ligitimate quality complaint and the watch itself appears to be defective and will be returned. I will update and ammend if the saga continues

.... Update, turned out there was nothing mecahnically wrong with the watch just not wound (Doh!) BUT ... Pocketwatch refused to accept that a bent hinge and wobbly back was a quality issue.

Review of Autotrader UK

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Disinterested customer service, take it-or-leave it attitude

Not providing a level playing field and really crap customer service - my family estate car had a factory fit third row of seats not included on the auto-trader database. This meant it would not appear on a "search" for a 7-seat vehicle. Dealerships are able to auto-populate auto-trader so this limitation doesn't apply to them.

I complained to autotrader and the best they would offer was one extra week of advertising FOC (which they then didn't provide). Twice I re-advertised each time paying more fees and seeing the value of my car dwindle while dealer-advertised 7-seat variants of the same car came and went.

Overall I spent nearly £200 on advertising while losing about £3k in value trying to sell through this monopolistic take-it-or-leave-it provider

Reply from Autotrader UK

Hi there Simon,

Thank you for leaving a review of your experience. I am extremely sorry to hear this and appreciate your comments.

We can amend the number of seats for you within the vehicle details section of your advert. This is something that is available to both dealers and private sellers as we understand some 5 seated vehicles can be fitted and manufactured to have 7. It would be great to hear who you spoke to when you contacted us. If you could kindly email us at customerexperience@autotrader.co.uk, we would like to look into this for you.

Kindest Regards

Jessica

Review of Quirky Jerseys

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Rubbish order fullfilment process

Ordered a Jersey July 22nd, received it August 24th. Five weeks against their promised lead time of 2-4 weeks. I e-mailed them after three weeks and the response effectively admitted they'd done nothing but it was "in the post". Based on other comments on here I had written off my order but to be fair, with a little prompting, I received the cycling Jersey I'd ordered, the quality is fine - although not yet washed for the first time - and the fit is about right. Just a shame their order fulfillment process seems to rely on manual intervention.
