Unethical

Unethical

What once was a great platform and thought leader connecting people and businesses has turned last year into a mess of unsatisfied customers, (on purpose?) hidden overviews of subscriptions (guys, I know you, you COULD have done a better UX if you wanted to), to then send invoices for annual subscriptions to your surprised customer base. The result can be seen here and on xing - DE

Even IF your customers slipped accidentally into a subscription, why would you force them to pay for something they do not want to use? Would you not rather have your customer pay pro-actively, happy about the additional value they get from that product?

My Xing account is de-activated and you still want me to pay for one entire year even though I cannot even use the product (which I still don't want).

Xing, I am disappointed, you can do better.
People who consider using Xing: I am sorry, currently I cannot recommend it at all; I highly discourage the usage, currently.

1. You are not able to connect freely with people unless you pay a premium-fee.

2. You can very quickly accidentally slip into annual subscriptions because Xing does not give you an overview like other platforms would, which subscriptions you signed up for, how long they are valid, when and how you need to cancel those. Meaning: You are easily completely un-aware that you have a subscription, but it would still be your fault.

3. If you contact Xing and receive a response, they will give you the standard replies, ignore the human, ignore the customer, and just focus on money.

The worst customer service ever! Rude and not helpful

I initially bought the premium on my phone through the app (thanks God, google cancelled it easily). Right after buying it every time I would try to use my "premium subscription" I would get the message "Please wait a moment while we activate your Premium Membership". Of course I waited until the next day patiently, but after 24 hours would still show the same message again. After that I contacted the customer support by email (no answer for 2 days), I called and they asked me to send the proof that I paid for the subscription which I sent again by email. Another 2 days, with an answer to turn on and off my phone, close the app and etc. I did everything and still didn't work, so I patiently again answered the email. And guess what? No answer again, I called their terrible customer service that not just cannot help at all but is also super rude. The person hang up the phone while I was talking, pretended to be someone else when I called again and after sent an impolite email. Luckily Google Play store cancelled everything and I got my money back. But after reading so many bad reviews over here I guess I understand why they try to make as hard as possible to buy inside the app. As if you buy over the website, for what I read here, they charge you more and it's hard (or almost impossible) to cancel. Stay away from the premium version of this website and app, because if you have to contact them you are going to have a hard time to get whatever you need (technically or financially).

Unethical archaic business practices…

Unethical archaic business practices based on legal fine-print to cheat canceling customers. Do not procure anything from this organization.

To cancel, e-mail 'info(at)xing.com'.

Outrageous that is is legal in the EU/Germany.

Dear Xing.

Dear Xing.

In my opinion I think Xing offer mischievous conditions.

Xing are not telling their customers you are going to massive increase of the price after the one year premium membership and also not sending out any warning and invoice about prolongation for 1 -year, so you cannot react and cancel membership. The invoice for 334 euro came the day after the period had expired, so it was already too late. The price of Premium membership increased from 35,40 euro to 95,40 euro and Add-ons from 47,46 euro to 239,40 euro. An increase of 250 euros total. If you need to cancel the Premium membership you have do it minimum 3 weeks before the end of your period.

Otherwise, every other service provider let's you cancel after a 3-month period, also there are no warnings that the membership is being prolonged for a whole year before it happens.

The only answer I got from Xing was a standard copy paste answer when contacting customer service

In future I would highly warn about Xing to my friends, family and any in this forum about these conditions and I think it is not a very good business model to make earnings this way.

It would be wonderful if Xing delivered any better services and easier navigation through your site easier to answer urgent questions and possibility to call you.

Big big scam

Like many people before I also got tricked by their scam that you have to re-confirm the cancellation of your trial subscription. Awful company that - hopefully - will go bankrupt ASAP. Stay well clear of Xing!

Stay way from XING, terrible service!

If there is a way to give a null star I think XING deserved to receive it - EXTREMELY BAD. As many people have warned, Xing is trying to squeeze cents from customers. Like many of you, Xing renewed the subscription automatically without notification. They charged about 100 euro from my account. After noticing this I tried to cancel it and receive an email saying, we regret that you want to leave (in German). When I saw this I thought it has been canceled and ignored the rest of the email. It turn later out that there is some more steps I have to do in order to cancel it. It was just like a trap:((. Then suddenly I received a mail saying that they sent me more mails but I did not pay for the ProJobs although I received nothing. They did not sent any earlier notification. They charged me 156 Euro for what I did not use. Although I explained to them many times but they did not listen. Finally, I said I will pay half due to my failure and asked them to Cancel all subscription right away but they did not agree and sent the case to their lawyer. Then I have to pay 220 euro for a terrible service. I wanna warn other people about XING. This company is scam, they try to earn money from the customers failure and from the no-use service. Stay away from XING!

Fraudulent company

Fraudulent company
As everyone said, stay away. This company was billed to me as the "Linkedin of Europe" so I signed up. I found it totally useless with a confusing UI, so I never used it. I set a date in my calendar of when I would have to cancel and I did it when I got the reminder. The UI was so horrible, it took me so long to figure out how to cancel it. Fast forward a few weeks and the company starts to chase me, saying that I have to pay the annual subscription fee because I did not cancel in time. I've since explained many times that I did cancel, but they claim I did not and I do not have the confirmation to prove it (I think this is a scam they pull where they do not receive your cancellation and it's somehow your fault because their crappy technology doesn't work).

Instead of behaving like any regular company and implementing the cancellation for me when I told them that I in fact, did terminate, and the exchange occurred before the "renewal" period would have occurred, they've been chasing me and even assessed a late fee. I've opened a dispute with my credit card company and yet they send me emails saying I owe them this amount and there's nothing that can be done.

STAY AWAY. Use Linkedin, a real company.

Just bad.

Just bad.
This is not going to bring you forward nor make you satisfied.
I join all the ones who felt scammed by the renewal policy, unheard of! What kind of company tries to squeeze out of you the last bits and pieces of money they can instead of customer satisfaction?
Just don't use Xing.

These guys are really the worst service…

These guys are really the worst service providers. The subscription gets automatically renewed and you have to inform them you want to withdraw from the service 3 weeks in advance! Those kind of timelines are unheard of! Its clear they want to fleece their customers and make as much money as possible before the company goes bankrupt(which is very soon). Its an awful interface, completely unhelpful and it actually took me half an hour to figure out how one can cancel their account. The customer service hotline is equally bad and won't entertain requests for the refunds even if the invoices were generated that very day and you have no interest in their services.
All in all its a useless product and a fraudulent company. Please stay away.

Shocking company they way they treat…

Shocking company they way they treat their customers and refuse to cancel the account.

I would not recommend anyone sign up with this company - as you will have to jump through hoops to prevent auto renewal and good luck trying to cancel your membership as they will keep changing the requirements as they have done with us - probably in the hope that you just get fed up and leave it - anyone from Xing please contact me directly as I am hoping still to get a resolve... anyone else I would think very carefully before signing up!

Beware

Beware - they operate an auto renew policy that requires you to cancel 3 weeks before, they don’t alert you to this fact. Most other reputable companies will tell you in advance. Clearly they aren’t doing very well as a business, and need to be quite shady. I just got sent an invoice the day after my contract was due to renew - so there’s nothing you can do. Not impressed, do not use.

Worst customer service I had ever seen

Worst customer service I had ever seen. They trap with nice entry prices. This site is good only if you know German and looking for jobs in Germany. I saw very less English speaking jobs. I got more interview calls and received a couple of offers with LinkedIn premium.

Xing Premuim subscription is OK to get few features of what you get in LinkedIn for free like profile visitors. Projobs subscription is a beautiful package with tempting marketing content to fool their customers. They just present in good numbers via email of what you get in premium. Resume guidance is their marketing trick to make their users pay more for the resume services. Notify top recruiter is useless. No top recruiter has contacted me in 3 months of ProJobs. I asked a query related to BlueCard to the so-called assistance feature in projobs, but they asked me to get details from Landratsamt.

I mistook that I had canceled that subscription but I got a renewal invoice and I immediately told them to cancel and no more interested but they never cared. All they want is money irrespective of whether it's giving any value to users. Customer satisfaction doesn't matter to them at all. Finally, I ended paying for which I am not interested and not using. For xing people - ref:XING-13873413
