bad communication

We missed an excursion because of bad communication. You couldn’t hear anything on the intercom even after I told them at a meeting with backup. The food and the waitstaff and the cleaning crew were excellent. I will not be taking a Victory cruise again.

We liked the excursions

We liked the excursions. Everything was well-organized. Entertainment was fabulous. Staff was very good. Cabins are old - would like coffee option in rooms. This is an older crowd - fix the bathroom thresholds and get closed-captioning on TV. Cabins could have a little more luxury feel.

Other options

Give more detailed descriptions of excursions. Had we known SC Johnson was in Racine, we might have chosen a different excursion. 90 minutes on a bus was not something we wanted to do.
Kensington was a waste of time. The Distillery District was enough to fill the entire day. Perhaps an entire day at Niagara Falls! Escanaba was a yawner. Why not Toledo or 2 days elsewhere?
Food was excellent; porter great; doctor professional, tour guide left much to be desired. And…I’m certain we will be reimbursed for cancelled architectural tour. Captain made correct decision by remaining in Milwaukee.

Our 9 day cruise was luxurious

Our 9 day cruise was luxurious on Victory 1! Crew was amazing with their attention to detail and outstanding service. The chef created fresh delicious menus that were unique and creative with a beautiful presentation. The staff serving us in the dining rooms were equally outstanding in their service and attentiveness. Jack and Menino quickly became our favorites and we looked forward to seeing them ever day. Our Cruise Director, Nicole was wonderful with her daily announcements, sense of humor and approachability. Plus, she and her husband Sean and percussionist Jeremy were the nightly live music entertainment! We would definitely book another cruise where she was the Director. Our room stewart Sid was very attentive to our preferences and provided outstanding service.
Our Captain was extremely personable and available for guests to interact with. The shore excursions were well planned with excellent local tour guides. Our Lakelorian, Michael was delightful and humorous with his informative talks and presentations on the Great Lakes history, including locks, ports and industrial facts. He was very social and interacted delightfully with guests. Every detail of our experience was thoughtfully planned out by Victory!

The staff was excellent

The staff was excellent, across the board. Not one person was less than terrific. Some of the shore excursions were over priced but all in really great. We had a wonderful time!

This was my first cruise

This was my first cruise. I didn't want to be on a ship with 5000 strangers. I liked the size of the Victory I. The ship had nice accommodations and the crew provided excellent service. The food was fantastic. My biggest worry was overindulging. The ports of call and available tours were interesting. I even learned about things and places in my own home state that I had never known before.

Too much fun and many memories....

Too much fun and many memories....

Lost luggage in Dallas. It finally made it to Port Colborne. Everyone was so helpful like trip greetors, Westen staff, Lori on ship and more.
Almost didn't go to Niagara but when I knew luggage on way, I went. Too wet, too crowded (like tour boat held 700 passengers), not enough time for zip line (probably 200 in line) and so much mist couldn't see anything. Suggest Niagara Falls on a weekday
Bus Drivers GREAT! Patrick and Rex. Appreciate the same drivers whole trip. Driver for detour to Chicago (because of weather) horrible! Bad driver and didn't speak English well.
Agnelo my steward. Exceptional!
Max dining room Excellent- I was playful at dinner and he was always accommodating. 🙂
Grill dining, not the best. Bread and other choices not the freshest.
Tour instructions for Mackinac not clear. Missed carriage ride (True I didn't go to preview with instructions day before). Others were confused also.
Met Captain when I went to purser to see where I could get a lighter. He gave me one, said to keep it. (Had no idea he was Captain). Found mine and gave it back, so now he said it is saved for emergency for others.
Mary , wife of Marv who is blind, fell off bike on Mackinac. Eric (ship staff on vacation with mom) were right there to help. Doc on board, Lori and everyone helped.
Weather issues disappointing. No sailing to Chicago, no excursion on Chicago river). Staff handled well.
