Trident Roofing, the good guys
We used Trident Roofing from Melksham who gave us a reasonable price for replacing a roof tile on our garage. Dave arrived on time, did the job without any hassle, was polite and a good communicator.
In this day and age of cowboy roofers, Dave proved to be an honest one, so refreshing !!

TrustATrader complaints process offers little consumer protection!
I chose TrustATrader because I believed it offered consumers an additional level of protection and accountability when using listed traders. Unfortunately, my experience has shown me otherwise.
When a dispute arose with one of their traders, I submitted comprehensive evidence, including my original enquiry, written quotations, WhatsApp conversations, the trader’s invoice and other evidence. The trader’s response was simply that my husband had agreed everything on the day.
Rather than explaining why they believed the trader’s account over the written evidence I provided, TrustATrader simply stated that they had reviewed everything, discussed it internally, and closed the complaint.
Their final response was effectively that they are not a legal adjudication service and that I should seek independent legal advice if I wished to pursue the matter further.
I fully understand that TrustATrader cannot force a trader to refund money. However, that was never my expectation. My expectation was that they would carry out a thorough and transparent investigation and clearly explain how they reached their decision. Instead, I was left with a generic conclusion that did not address the key points I had raised or explain why my documentary evidence had been rejected.
As a result, the complaints process felt like little more than passing messages between myself and the trader before closing the case.
TrustATrader promotes itself as a platform built on trust and accountability. Based on my experience, I do not believe the complaints process delivers the level of consumer protection that customers are led to expect. If your dispute cannot be resolved immediately, you should be prepared to pursue it yourself, regardless of the evidence you provide.

All traders are required to undergo a rigorous vetting process before joining our website. This process continues throughout their membership, with documentation regularly updated and customer reviews verified.
When a consumer raises a complaint with us, we follow a structured complaints process designed to mediate and, where possible, help both parties reach a satisfactory resolution.
We remain impartial throughout and consider the information provided by both the consumer and the trader. Over the last twelve months, we have resolved 98% of complaints received amicably.
However, if a resolution cannot be reached, the final stage of our process allows the consumer to leave a review detailing their experience. We also operate a strike system for traders, which forms part of our ongoing assessment and may influence decisions regarding their future membership with us.
On this occasion, we were unable to reach a resolution; therefore, you have submitted a negative review, which will be published.
