Misleading emails
Today (8 July at 02:07) I received an email reading:
Payment for your Tesco Bank Credit Card ending xxxx is due in 5 days.
At 05:00 I received an email from my bank reading:
Your Direct Debit for £xxxx.xx to Tesco Bank hasn't been paid as there wasn't enough money in your Account.
I was expecting the direct debit but 3 hours notice to ensure funds were available, especially when the email is giving me 5 days notice, is worse than useless. Needing to find a few thousand pounds at such short notice is, to say the least, inconvenient.
The only way to communicate with Tesco Bank is phone or postal mail. This is the 21st century, wake up, the rest of the world has gone digital. Postal is virtually obsolete for this kind of communication. General experience of contact by phone is of call navigation systems, being told "your call is important to us" (but not sufficiently important to answer promptly), music on hold, long waits only to reach a robotic system or a call centre operative with interminable identity check questions leading up to an inability to address any but the simplest of issues.
I expect you will claim that your system is the exception but I don’t have the time and patience to find out.

Dishonest
I used Tesco credit card to pay 1/2 my car pcp finance in full.
The amount was over £8000, as soon as it was authorised they immediately charged me over £300, apparently a 3 months interest fee in advance!!!
At no time in the use of this card did they alert me that paying a finance settlement would incur a fee. There was no warning on line or in any format!
I have had this credit card for some 10 years.
I also used a Lloyds Halifax card to pay off a similar amount.
Tesco have charged me well over £300 for apparently paying a finance agreement, when I complained they said it was in their terms and online.!
If they had highlighted this charge I wouldn’t have used it!
This in my opinion is utterly dishonest!
Lloyds Halifax, charged me NOTHING. I will pay this balance this week and close my account and never use Tesco bank again!
I suggest you all switch to Halifax/monzo/revolut and experience a more honest and transparent company.!
