My wh1000-xm6 headphones broke at the headband after 8 months of careful use, and customer service denied my warranty claim. They even admitted that several other customers had reported the same issue.
If you want to waste a lot of money, the sony wh1000-xm6 would be my best recommendation.

"I strongly warn against Sony's premium products and their 'support'. I received a unit in a defaced box (warehouse markings), clearly not factory-new. Now, with dust ingress inside the panel, Sony claims TVs are not 'hermetically sealed'. For a Class 10/100 Clean Room component, this is a technical disgrace. Sony refuses to take responsibility for a compromised, leaking panel. Formal legal action has been initiated. Zero stars for quality and ethics."
"Important update: The TV was purchased on May 13th, 2025. It is only 8 months old! Seeing dust contamination inside the panel of a 8-month-old premium TV with passive cooling is definitive proof of a manufacturing defect and a compromised seal. I will not accept anything less than a brand-new replacement."

Close to zero customer service if it goes sideways
I ordered a TV that was supposed to arrive today, but I have not been able to track the order at any point. I contacted customer service twice today and received no response. There is also no phone number available. The only option is to send a written message (without any timeframe of when to expect a response).
I never received a shipping or tracking number, so I cannot follow the delivery or contact the courier. We are currently waiting for a TV delivery with no idea when it will arrive, and we are leaving for vacation in two days.
Overall, the lack of communication, tracking information, and customer support makes this a very frustrating experience.
And the money is withdrawn as well.

Paying for SONY premium headphones overpriced thinking you pay for quality, but at the end of the day, the built quality is miserable !! I've a pair of XM5 for 11 months, and the headband is already PEELING !!
I use it with the most care, i'm not even rough with it !! that a shame !! That's unacceptable from sucha company !!! All they told me is that i will have to pay to fix it. There is a lot of customers having this sam issue, on both side of the headphone, but they have the audacity to say that's it's your fault and that you need to pay ! They take your money when you cancel subs and then make it IMPOSSIBLE to get your refund. Ive canceled psn sub twice, had my card locked, and yet they sure snaked my last $20 out. Nowhere do they state having cashapp connected does it give them full access ro your funds. And to whomever designed fhe system for getting helped is even more worthless. Each time you call prompts are different, don't work, and the call back option: nobody ever calls. Absolutely greedy disgusting pigs. Since when did we the consumer lose all the darn power?

Bought a brand new Sony Xperia pro I. Loved the phone, but it didn’t last long. The antenna started switching off by itself. I contacted Sony for help and advice. They responded with “We have no experience with this issue “ I went to a repair shop. Turns out that the motherboard was defeated. So in one way, I bought a defected phone. No help to get anywhere.

Sony Walkmans - Defective Products
Purchased Sony Walkman NWWS413BM in July 2023. It died (would not power on) in March 2024. Sony sent me instructions to ship it back at no charge to me and sent me an upgraded replacement, the NWWS623B. It, too, died (same problem) in less than a year. Sony uses the original purchase date, so there was little to no warranty on the replacement. They recommended I pay for repairs. Given my experience--two Sony Walkmans lasting less than a year each--I have no interest in repairing this Walkman as I have no confidence in Sony products in general and their Walkmans in particular.

I am extremely frustrated with the handling of my order cancellation and refund.
I placed an order on 07/11/2024 and contacted your customer service the next day to cancel it.
Your agent informed me that it was too late to cancel because the package was already prepared for shipping but advised me to reject the package upon delivery to initiate a return and refund.
Following your instructions, I rejected the package when it arrived, and the courier took it back. Since then, I have contacted your customer service multiple times regarding my refund, yet I have still not received it.
This issue needs to be resolved as soon as possible. I expect my refund to be processed without further delay! If this is not addressed promptly, I will have no choice but to escalate the matter further.

Customer support, in particular Nicola, are completely useless. I’ve sent my headphones in twice for repair and the issue persists. They show no ownership in solving customer issues.

terrible policies and customer support. it’s feels like a joke that they hire support agents at all seeing as all they are allowed to do is parrot the policies of the company back at the consumer instead of finding solutions.
bought my xm5 headphones about a year ago, but they were still under or close to under warranty (within a few weeks of). there’s a super common defect on these where the swivel hinge cracks or snaps or starts swiveling the full 360 degrees because of the poor design quality. i have used kid gloves whenever i handle my headphones, i have silicone protectors on it and i always keep it in the case when i'm not using it, etc. etc. today the hinge cracked. from pulling it out of the case (not aggressively). i literally just pulled them out of their case to wear them and the plastic was cracking like it was brittle though they’ve never been damaged or handled roughly. so, i message customer service, offer to send my warranty info and the receipt that i still have. they asked for a photo, but did not request the warranty, and they throughout all of this don’t even consider the warranty at all. so i send the photo, explain that it seems to be a common defect (there are numerous posts about this specific issue, and on each post dozens more people who also have that issue and who support has denied without any good reason, basically just “we don’t have to. and you can’t do anything about it.”). they ask me more questions (location, what is broken, name, etc.), this goes on for maybe 20-30 minutes, and they finally tell me that “sony is aware of this specific issue and it is not covered” claiming that it falls under “physical damage” as though the physical damage isn’t caused by the defect, which is well documented by many sony users. they then go on to say that my only option is to pay 100 dollars (they hilariously call this an “affordable repair”) for some third party affiliate to fix it, which undoubtedly would be a whole new headache on its own. it really shouldn’t be the consumer’s responsibility when the product itself is faulty. i bought these on sale for 329, and they’re now i think selling for 200-300. 100 dollars (so between 1/3 and 1/2 of the total price) for a repair that literally falls under the warranty that came with the product (but which they refuse to honor, or even check for that matter) is ridiculous.

I bought a Sony television 3 years ago and recently the screen died. Sony used to sell quality items but those days are long gone. I was quoted $2000 to have a $1600 television repaired so I threw it in the bin. Sony sells expensive rubbish these days
